I believe this, he is a great Actor and a very nice Man in real Life. He is also intelligent, he understand an can speak German and has a good taste in Music.
It always seems to be a pattern with actors who play villainous/scary roles, they're really scary in front of the camera, but in real life, they're some of the sweetest people. John Franklin seems to be one of those guys. :)
@@user-uc6nw8lb5g first of all i said what i said....n even if i did know the answer to your question i wouldnt be out there displaying it like it mines to share...so IDK n honestly IDC...n this question is so unnecessary
You have to watch John in "Alone" an episode of Michael Landon's "Highway to Heaven". Very heartwarming & it will leave you in tears. My favorite episode of the show. Thanks John for your brilliant acting!
People are that afraid of him after seeing his movies "Children Of The Corn" and "Children Of The Corn 666 Isaacs Return" to the point where some lady in a restaurant would see John and actually jump up and scream and say "THAT GUY'S SO SCARY" right in front of him like that, then move her group away from him to the other side of the restaurant? And he would be on an elevator people would freak at the sight of him and get off the elevator because they didn't want to be on it with him? I mean Oh My God!!! That is absolutely inhumane. What is the matter with people? Treating him so mean like that all because of the roles he played in the Children of the corn saga? I just find it hard to believe people are that stupid. I mean some people have to be pretty stupid if they can't separate an actor from the character they play. Now John Franklin said it was pretty funny, well I may be wrong but deep down inside his feelings were probably hurt. And as far as I'm concerned those people deserve to be scared out of their pants if not worse. I mean that is just absolutely catatonic
Wow, cool story. Can't believe people would react like that, but yeah. Soap Opera stars have been smacked etc. in real life, for what they did to someone on the soaps. Lol. Can't see this dude as scary. Malachi (Courtney Gains) was more scary in my opinion. Now though, Courtney isn't scary at all. Funny how times change.
I heard similar-ish stories about Wes Craven. He'd be at a party with other filmmakers and Hollywood bigwigs and the moment they heard his name or found out what movies he had made, they'd get all weird and freaked out around him, give him odd looks. I say let them be afraid. If they're that gullible that they think someone IS their character or creation, then I'd have some fun with them.
OrchidJayne: Yes he certainly is so sweet and amazing. But it's such a shame there are so many people who can't separate him from the character "Isaac" he played as
Watching the Children of the Corn when it first came out, this guy stuck in my memory like forever. I just recently found out that when he was in the film and looked 12 years old , he was actually 25..!! That is what gave the character such an aura of mystery. Great Actor, Respect- RH DSD
I'll give this to John Franklin, he was able to project a chilling portrayal of a young adult who is the incarnation of evil in such a way that his stare alone without dialogue was scary. And then when he spoke in the tone he used in Children of the Corn it was like, WOW that's the voice of Satan.
Strangely enough his character in " Children" didn't scare me. There was ,in my opinion an innocence to Isaac. Almost to the point he became a protagonist and Malachi the antagonist. Issac seemed the grounded in principles...right or wrong while Malachi seemed a villain through and through. Great classic picture and loved experiencing it in the theater way back when.
Yep, also the later cult leaders were mostly possessed by He-Who-Walks-Behind-The-Rows whilst Isaac was possessed by his "Lord" only briefly and for the most part served the demon god of his own free will so his persuasive abilities were his own rather than demonic mind control which arguably added to his creepy factor over the others. Although I will say Micah, Eli,Eden and Ezekiel despite being possessed by He-Who-Walks or one of his demonic familiars were the only leaders who nearly matched Isaac`s manipulative, charismatic and intimidating talents.
He was absolutely perfect for his role in Children of the Corn and that movie would not have been what it was without him. I just wish the beginning of that movie had shown the period of time a month or two before the adults were murdered, show the breakdown of the bond the parents had with their children...show exactly what happened on that day "He Who Walks Behind The Rows" made himself known which Sarah and Job didn't witness therefore, it saved them from becoming like the rest as the plan unfolded. Such a classic and forever one of my favorite horror films...the sequels are alright but that original is on my list of top ten horror movies. It's hard driving through any dying midwestern farming community and not think of "Gatlin."
I adore this man and his work ! I'd love to meet him and Courtney that's my dream to meet them both ! I've always idolized these great people like him! I wish parahorror can book him for next years event! It would be awesome!

Children of the Corn was bad, but John Franklin and the other children made the movie entertaining. You can tell they tried their best, and you can’t help but like the movie for that.
Lord Farquaad: Now why would you get off an elevator if he got on?...If you can't separate an actor from the character they play, that's pretty stupid even of you're a child let alone an adult.
"Arnie" from an episode of "Highway to Heaven," is all grown up now. I just watched that show and was interested in where he was at now. He done great job with his acting skills in that episode. I just wish Micheal nd Victor were still alive and still in the limelight. Their legacies will live on. It was neat to see "Arnie"outside of that show. Clearly I was a messed up kid, I saw Children of the Corn at like 7 and was like "kill all the adults and take over the town? Oh hell yeah!" it definitely didn't scare me, it's much scarier as an adult because I'm constantly afraid of pious murderous children taking over the town...
Children of The Corn hasn't aged well at all. Some of the dialogue is pure cheese and I was never afraid of Franklin's character since he was about two feet tall.
