As an Abbasid main, I appreciate this. They nerfed my civ and made the map pool not in our favor😢
Below Diamond Abbasid has negative winrate against ALL civs. I'm struggling the most with things like English longbow/spearmen rush; the English has a very easy build, easy macro and easy micro, yet as Abbasid you have to not miss a beat with your macro, constantly micro to not lose villagers or your whole army and on top of that you have to keep scouting to know when English will just build their landmark OP keep right in front of you without you being able to do anything about it. If you miss that and the keep goes up you're just done for. It's brutal.
@@stysner4580 As an abbassid main as well, plat 3, I can tell you that you can build a couple of towers to keep longbows away and go fast castle, there you can just build MAA from 3 barracks and simple run over them, always works, always fun.
@@leonardovaldrich6670 I mostly build a tower on wood and stone if they're too exposed (no need for gold for a good while after the initial 275 for culture wing + preservation of knowledge), go to sheep if berries are attacked and try to get my 2nd TC up. In the lower leagues they often either leave their scout in one place or don't even have it at your base, you can sneak vills out and build the TC before they have too many longbowmen.
But maybe that's too late, and I should just 1TC until I can repel them? The problem is that it costs a LOT to keep up with English double longbowmen production, you need 2 production facilities to get out of containment.
@@stysner4580In low tiers Abbasid against English should not be too hard, go 2 TC, mass archers and longbows and cocoon yourself until you get a good mass ongoing, never stop making units unless you see he stopped attacking, don't get greedy and go for 3TCs because that will end you if he was going all in. Eco wing is a no-go, military wing with boot camp can be pretty good when you got a good mass of archers, but generally speaking you want to go culture wing to get the easier age up transition when the English player can no longer put on the pressure because you defended well. Horsemen + archers is the combination you want to go for against English, and you can keep using it in the castle age just as well, horsemen also do well against MAA, and if he goes spears you already have the archers to counter it.
And if he isn't aggressive, well you go 3-4 TCs and just annihilate him with trade behind. Yes the English imp can be powerful, but in the time it takes him to make it happen you should have safe boomy eco behind that can just spam units endlessly. You get Ghulams which are better than his MAAs, and you get the same handcannoneers. Should be solid. Honestly, if you can get to imp safely with Abbasid you should be unstoppable. You can even make camel riders against MAAs and trade much more efficiently (this is also very powerful against HRE but not many people go for it because it takes a solid eco to pull it off).
@@leonardovaldrich6670 going FC against English is way too risky because he gets longbows and horsemen mass that will be near impossible to stop. Your best bet is to actually make archers/horsemen in feudal and transition into castle age with the same comp.

Abbasid seems a bit in a rough spot in 1v1s because the feudal age is brutal especially with the TC nerf since the Sultan's Ascend DLC dropped. But if you are Beasty and can defend well in feudal and get to castle, then all bets are off and the Abbasid mass is just very powerful. It was shocking to see those 3 opponents not putting that much pressure on during the feudal age. The first game he tried going after the trade but Beasty defended masterfully, once the trade was set the game was already over, translating that lead into the decisive victory was just a matter of style. The French thought he could out boom Abbasid and went for 3TCs which makes no sense because Abbasids get the golden age bonus so the TCs bonus for the French will be largely negated by that, especially that French armies cost too many resources.
or you know play feudal? instead of complaining about castle rush being nerfed
@@kelthuzad4634 nobody complained about castle rush being nerfed. You can even listen to beasty himself stating that Abbasid feudal isn't that good...

Test the new temple of Shit landmark and see if it's any better, like the Otto landmark buff video you did

Beasty do you mark some vids as mature content? My TH-cam keeps being a dent and locking restricted mode, so half the time I can't see any new vids. This evening it finally showed about 6 new ones, but the last one I can see when youtube denting is the "how good is rus?"
I think this is your problem, cuz I don't seem to have that issue. and I can certainly say that videos are not marked as 18+ content
@@BlackFireSC2 yeah it's started happening out of nowhere, comments on a lot of videos are restricted too, but only some beasty vids disappear, very annoying, so I wondered if certain vids can get tagged for maturity

I second this, I find them the coolest, but it's hard to figure out what works best in each scenario
I feel a delayed castle at any point feels very weak for them and then that would lead to delayed imperial
If I could micro aswell as beasty, I'd love to see how far he could get with my tactic with this civ.. The civ it doesn't work well for is the English or French, possibly Mongols aswell, but my opponent taps out at about the 15 minute mark when I use I and I never make Castle..

Its really hard to copy something from beastys plays since he plays to good and to fast oh and greedy af :/ But i think thats the charm, isnt it :D
Na it's not a charm, it's annoying because you don't learn anything, you just sit there dribbling nearly falling asleep while he is clicking
