She let him go because they were barely going to see each other anymore.But the thing is i believe that when you love someone truly it doesn't matter if that person is going to travel the world, or their going to be away for a long time, if you truly love them you shouldn't let them go.For example my brothers girlfriend lives all the way in Romania and he lives in the US,They have been together for 3 years,They only get to see each other during the summer or Christmas, but it gets really difficult for them to maintain the relationship at times but they know there going to go have a harder time if they break up.I do believe Luke is going to find someone that will be afraid to let him go, someone that can make him forget the world one day.Like you said his a great guy that any girl would love to have and be with.
