These Rick Mercer spoofs on Heritage Moments should come on randomly at the same time the real ones come on Canadian stations. It would be a fun first few seconds guessing if it is real or a joke.
I finished my mandatory highschool french last year. Academic, somewhere near the top of my class. I can probably say hi and goodbye and on a good day ask you how you are. If you actually want to learn french go to where they speak it.
@LudicrousPlatypus The irony is that Quebec, as a whole, is not as keen on promoting multiculturalism as the rest of Canada is, calling their promotion of "monoculture" as "having a cultural identity". That'd be fine, but I've been hearing not-so-pleasant stories about the issue from Quebec.
@acidcandycherry #1) They had colonies in Nova Scotia and Quebec, not Yukon, Saskatchewan, Alberta, B.C. and #2) the ones they had in Manitoba, Ohio, Michigan, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Missouri, Louisiana, Arkansas etc. were all crushed by the British. The Rest of Canada should not be subject to a language that (in the coming years) will soon be overtaken by Mandarin as the second most spoken language in the nation.
Ok let me put some history down. There was a big war, England one. That's why we all speak English. I don't care for French and don't need it when we live in an English-Speaking Country. Case closed.

If you count Quebec. But that would require making people outside Quebec care.
I think that is funny. Ironic that that we of the USA never actually switched to the metric system even though they tried and continue to try.
Pray for us.
