I had this in my 20’s. Mostly I could just deal with it. But one night the muscle cramped/spasmed and wouldn’t let go. I was in complete agony while my parents rushed me to the ER. My head was literally almost directly over my left shoulder. I was in the waiting room for hours and finally got back. ER doc acted like he was mad at me for some reason. Gave me some type of shot and I don’t remember the next 36 hours. Absolutely horrendous condition.
I've been dealing with torticollis since mid September. I'm seeing my chiropractor regularly and it's slowly getting better. At one point the pain was so unbearable that I ended up in the ER. The ER Dr was a joke. He told me chiropractor care was nothing but a placebo effect and that I just needed a foam roller. After basically telling him I was leaving he eventually gave me a shot of steroid and pain med and a prescription for a muscle relaxer that didn't help. So thankful for amazing chiropractors that actually do help!😊
Update: saw a different chiropractor for a specific modality - shockwave therapy! Between that and some INTENSE physical therapy (she basically gave me deep tissue massages in addition to lots of intense stretching) the torticollis is completely gone and has been for a few months. I was born with torticollis. My mom never stretched me as a baby because when she would do the stretches I would scream so she stopped doing them all together because it made her sad to see me scream. Fast forward to 25 years old now & have had torticollis every single day of my life. Causes my head to tilt to left & my left shoulder higher up than my right shoulder. It lead to getting scoliosis in my back as well. Let me tell you it’s not fun at all. I still get asked to this day why you stand like that etc.. I heard it all, used to get made fun of for it in middle school & high school & it used to really bother me because I felt embarrassed about it because I just wanted to be normal. I pretty much finally excepted it at this point & know there is nothing I can do about it this late in life. I went to different chiropractor for years & still no results of anything changing. Every time I would go to different chiropractors I would always hear my neck & back were the tightest they ever had to worked on ( more than firefighters , military, cops , weight lifters , athletes etc.. I have heard it all ). Only thing I can do to fix it is surgery but definitely will not be doing that. The headaches & neck & back pain I have every day of my life is not fun at all hurts like hell. As I’m getting older the headaches are getting worse & I’m only 25. Never has stopped me from anything in life though from working in a warehouse for the last 7 year lifting heavy stuff all day , playing football , basketball & baseball. Only thing I can say I recently got into golf & that has been the biggest challenge up to date because I can’t get barely any rotation with a golf swing (never had that problem in baseball) but it just sucks because I’m to competitive in everything I do & I hate losing lol.
I was diagnosed with spasmodic torticollis in my 20s. I'm now 65 and can no longer hold my head still without holding it. It's painful and impacts everything in my life from holding a job to speaking without my voice quivering to writing to holding objects in my right hand. It's awful and the headaches are frequent. Insurance doesn't cover chiropractors.
This happened to my youngest daughter she favoured her left side so her head was always tilted I had to massage her neck everyday for 3 months twice a day she was in so much pain but now she’s amazing thanks to her chiropractor
This happened to me once. Out of nowhere I felt weird so I called my aunt and told her something was wrong. By the time she got to my house, I was screaming from the pain of my neck being stuck. There were no warning signs other than my body feeling weird. Then that’s when the spasm hit
My daughter was diagnosed with torticollis as a baby, she was a preemie so I'm assuming it was caused by wires and the way she was turned in the NICU constantly.
Maybe ,but the congenital kind babies are born with usually happens in gestation ,at least my did, there is also a high chance with multiples do to space in the womb, some people are luckier then some, if found earlier in infant that get regular physical therapy they can correct the issue before adult adhesion set in, causing a life time of pain and instability and issue ,hope she gets better, just keep working on it.
I wanted to say this was fake but you can actually hear the neck as he twists. I’ve had this happen a few times when I was in school. Mom still made me go
Damn man...The adjustment looked and sounded so satisfying that I decided to do it to myself....I just NOW had to make an appointment with my Chiropractor...FKKK!! $90 mistake. Can't be watching these TH-cam feeds while drinking...DAMN it.
This happened to me randomly as a kid, I told my parents (who usually would’ve ran me to the doctor if they sensed something wrong) but they didn’t sense anything wrong. Every time I would try to straighten my head it would hurt like crazy. I jumped in the shower and used hot water on my neck, and just sat there for an unknown amount of time while I stretched it PAINFULLY over and over. I was able to turn my head almost all the way left but it would hurt a little. It just felt tight and loosening it up felt right. But it was something I look back proudly at, since it was one of the most uncomfortable experiences I’ve had
Finaly someone mentioned about the improtance of streching or massaging first.. people think doctors directly pull patients necks or cracks back :D. if you do that without relefing the muscles, patients muscles will tear xD
This happened to me at the age of 8 .. needless to say I had to sit at the right of the car window driving to the dr office…. Got to her office and she .. she popped my neck back in and off to the beach we went.. fricking scary to not be able to move my head at all.. I thought I was going to live like that for the rest of my life😊
What about the SCM condition? I had my 3rd Cervical Repair Surgery in 8-2020. Since my body has SCM. Every time I lay down on my left side the room spins for several seconds. I was checked for Vertigo and I don’t have Vertigo, not even benign Vertigo. SCM causes all my symptoms.
Sternocleidomastoid syndrome is a condition characterized by acute or chronic neck stiffness, pain, and related symptoms, often arising from the development of tightened, sensitive areas or trigger points within the SCM muscle. The size and complexity of the SCM muscle make it prone to strain and injury. It's worth noting that dizziness and vertigo are not typically associated with this syndrome. In the video in question, the patient has a condition known as torticollis, and the SCM muscle is consistently addressed as part of the treatment.

Please try Botox!! I have this condition and it helps so much
Thats literally how my neck feels right now. Hello Doctor, i am back
Is this a one and done thing or you have to do it regularly?
I was diagnosed with spasmodic torticollis in my 20s. I'm now 65 and can no longer hold my head still without holding it. It's painful and impacts everything in my life from holding a job to speaking without my voice quivering to writing to holding objects in my right hand. It's awful and the headaches are frequent. Insurance doesn't cover chiropractors.
I have this also. I do Botox injections it helps so much.
The treatment was really satisfying and also the "one republic " Song on the background❤ big fan❤❤
I had Torricelli in the 1990’s. It was excruciatingly painful. Muscle spasms at the neck. Had to hold my head between my hands.
This happened to my youngest daughter she favoured her left side so her head was always tilted I had to massage her neck everyday for 3 months twice a day she was in so much pain but now she’s amazing thanks to her chiropractor
Thanks for sharing!! So happy to hear that
for some reason I trust this man....
I appreciate those kind words. Some of the best a Dr. can hear 🙏
where's part 2? i love when they're fixed
If you check my shorts section, you’ll find it!
A continuation of this plz 😊😊 please
This happened to me once. Out of nowhere I felt weird so I called my aunt and told her something was wrong. By the time she got to my house, I was screaming from the pain of my neck being stuck. There were no warning signs other than my body feeling weird. Then that’s when the spasm hit
🎉😮🎉 I would like to know were these doctors located at so I can go see him.
First Chiropractor I see that I could trust
I appreciate those kind words
Nice to see that you're in my area. I got to watch the full video now
Thanks for the love! 🙏
The music in the background 🕺🪩
Music ??
I fell down some stairs, and did the arm behind back, and stretched and my neck cracked, thank you
Perfect!! Soft and effective... that's the way
Yes indeed!
Doctor where are you located? Would love to be a new patient.
Southern California 🙌
Rancho Cucamonga, Ca
I've had Torticollis like 3 times in the last 10 years and I just waited it out.
Finaly someone mentioned about the improtance of streching or massaging first.. people think doctors directly pull patients necks or cracks back :D. if you do that without relefing the muscles, patients muscles will tear xD
Faster journey of sloth life in history
OMG just watching this feels good❤
That guy is sooo cooperative 😂
Alternate medicine, had shoulder pain for years and beginning to weakened. Had massage and pain went away and shoulder is strengthened.
I experienced this and let me tell u it aint no joke. The pain is on another level and i had to do those some type of stretches for a few days. When i firat got it i had juat woken up and realized something wqs wrong and the slightest movement in the area was very painful. I had to asky wife to help me get out of bed.
This man has Cervical dystonia, also known as torticolis. It's a neurological disorder. Involuntary muscle contractions. He is holding his cheek because it is a sensory trick
Yes. Thank you for your insight
@@KingofCracks I am a member of the dystonia Foundation and called your office in hopes of reaching the gentleman that has cervical dystonia and or speaking with you personally to help him, there is no cure however injections of Botox directly into the muscle usually 400 units will provide amazing results every 3 months. Feel free to have your client reach out to me as I have been dealing with this same disorder for 10 years and feel like I can help him quite a bit.
This happens to me almost every year! It hurts but ya gotta keep up stretching !
How did that happen?
It’s a posture thing and usually stems from imbalances around the hips.
If it’s torticollis to the right then you’re stretching the wrong side. Right?
Former D1 football player. I have to do neck stretch routines and my own decompressions. This stuff works. Makes the pain manageable.
Thanks for sharing brother 🙏
My son was born with the congenital type. He did therapy for a few years for it. He is now almost 18 and it still never completely went away but he can move his head from side to side it's just limited how far in one direction
I’m so sorry to hear about his condition. Have you tried a chiropractor and see if that would help?
Can you damage your spinal cord by having a bad fall??
It is possible. Yes. It’s always best to get evaluated by your health care provider
@@KingofCracks thanks, but I’ve been getting the run around ever since my accident. They blamed me being under treated due to Covid.
I wasn’t bleeding or dying in their eyes so I just needed to go home and deal with it.
I woke up this morning and my entire neck and shoulders were completely stiff. I couldn’t move at all but after a few hours of stretching it is starting to feel better.
Glad to hear that! Hoping for a full recovery for ya
Can one receive treatment if you've been told you have a problem with you t bones at 72 yrs. Old.
I had this at 9 and couldn’t move it at all I had surgery which helped however I have chronic pain and wouldn’t what my enemy to go through what I go through daily. Moral is look into every option before surgery I didn’t have the say due to my age
Had this as a kid. Literally neck locked up in one direction
I don’t care what they say about chiropractors I’ve gone to one after a car accident and I felt like I was a baby. It helps man
We always do our best to help
Oh god I got this as a teenager! Everyone at school called me Zombie for a few days and the PE teacher was very cross because she thought I was walking around with my head to the side just to get out of exercise 🤣🤣
My neck does that sometimes. I went to the ER for it about 3 times and the Dr said it was Torticollis?
Bros got stick drift 🙏😭
How do I find part 2?
Torticollis! Physical therapy can help (lie what he is doing). It takes time and determination, because you've got to do your home exercise program.
Yep , its called Wry neck , MBBS First year topic from Head and neck clinical , Congenital Torticollis , ur come comes down wards and then go sidewards making movements very difficult and painful
Bro I need this BADLY.
