    On "My Car Story" we're in Wisconsin on 8-30-19.
    We're looking at a 1968 Buick GS 400 “Stock Appearance” in Black Paint. The car comes with what appears to be the factory V8 engine, however you can hear there is quite a bit more horse power there.
    The car's Owner is Starc Traxler. Starc’s had this car since 1983. Starc shares this car for a while was his wife’s daily driver, then sold it to his Brother, and then bought it back from him and now races it in drag races.
    ENJOY!

    My grandpa had a nice 71 Skylark with a 350 in it. Several times in the 1970s, he and my grandma made the trek in it from Manitoba to spend winters in the lower Rio Grande valley of Texas. I’m a huge Mopar fan but because of the several Buicks my grandpa owned, I can appreciate them as well.

    Always loved those '68/9 Special/Skylarks. Would take one over a Chevelle, Camaro, or Corvette anyday.
    You'd be the only one at the car show with one. And *black* just makes it all the more bicthin'!
    Had a '71 GS and 4 other Byooixxx. Thanks Stark & Lou for showing it!

      @@MrJones-em7ub Heck yeah. Even the 4drs. were cool lookin'! '68-9 Wagon Skylarks are one of my all-time favorite wagons ever. They had the same Sky-View roof as the Vista Cruiser. A family in my town owned the Buick dealership had a red one and a dk. blue one w/woodgrain and those fancy Buick "Roadwheels". SO SHARP!!! Merry Christmass to you too.

    I had the 68 GS California that I also bought in 1983 for $1500. If anyone has seen it I would really like to get it back. I accidentally spilled paint in the trunk. And also sanded and painted the frame every year with black rustoleum. Drove it all seasons.Thought I would own it forever!!!

    I'm still watching over & over that 1968 Oldsmobile Ram Rod Black a week ago, then you go find a 1968 GS 400 Buick in Black.
    Absolutely awesome Buick, just looks tough in black the bob tail look also.
    That engine idle what a noise just fantastic to hear even with factory manifold on it.

    I had a 1970 2 door skylark it had a 350buick engine with big Quadrajet 4 barrel carb and 350trans cable kick down from carb, it was white car with green buckets seat and console shifter? It originally came with bench seat and column shifter , I gave 800bucks for car cause trans was slipping going into drive, spent 125bucks for a rebuilt trans plus put shift kit in it!! Put flowmasters rite on header collectors, I painted dark green strips on hood and trunk and put factory GS wheels on it!! Oh what fun!!!

    Lou I like how hard you work at getting all these fantastic cars on your show. Your obsession with insignificant stickers was never more evident than at the end of the video when you had the owner not close the hood so you could show the radiator sticker. On the other hand the interior of the car was amazing looking better than it probably did when new. You mentioned the color but didn't ask anything about who did it or what the material was. Leather/vinyl. I watch your videos because you do manage to show some of the best cars on TH-cam. Let the owner tell their story so that we can learn about all the interesting and unique things about their amazing cars.

    Where did you get the seat covers, I've been looking for the front seat covers that have the buttons on them for quite a while with no luck?

    • @loucostabile
      @loucostabile  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rose, I'm not sure where the seat covers came from. I've left a message for the Care Taker of this car, or maybe a Viewer has knowledge of where the seat covers came from to answer your question. Lou

    Is the 4 speed stock ?
    I've been looking for a 70' 455 stage 1 4 speed with very little luck .. I ran across a 69' 400 stage 1 auto .. really nice ..not sure if I should keep holding out .. or get the 69' ..

    • @loucostabile
      @loucostabile  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mr. Basshole, Not sure if the 4 speed is stock. Regarding the 69, if you buy it, and then find a car you like better, you can upgrade later, but at least you'll have a fun car in your garage while you're looking, Lou

    My wife says she likes Buicks, but I could never get her to use this one as a daily driver. The car is too old, it's not an automatic, and it doesn't have air-conditioning.
