      I do that with all my players from the first team to the u18s as long as they get over 9.0.

      I only praise if the arrow is going up. So one week they may get 9.8 and I praise. Next week 9.6 and I ignore. Works well.

      Might be something to do with whether a player has a high enough professional rating or not. The more professional they are the easier it is to manage them.

    Dynamics needs a serious overhaul to where it feels more like interacting with actual humans and less like trying to walk through a minefield.

    My team once started dropping points when we were about to win the league, told them they can do better in a team meeting and my morale went from full green (excellent) to red in one meeting.
    A week later we won the league and the morale went back up to excellent again

    Moral and dynamics are really broken this year. My star player wanted to leave and the whole team was angry that I won't let him go. Once he was sold the players were angry again that I let our star player go. It's so stupid.

      weird, I had the situation that the best player wanted to leave to a CL club, I first did not sell him, he was angry, though my players were happy that I didn't let him go, in the end of that same transfer window I decided to sell him for an even better price, then I had important players against me, luckily I was able to get them back on my side, not sure what I told them to be honest

      Yeah, the team dynamics are broken and I've just started playing fm21 instead. I do enough babysitting in real life, I don't need to babysit the worlds moodiest virtual locker room too.

      @@ArjanSchaeffer Yup. Thats the reason I cant play it without getting annoyed. Team dynamics are broken, transfers are broken, all of the non-match engine portions feel tediuous, broken, or unreasonable.

    Worst I've had is an issue with a team talk during a game..
    Went up against Nice, 4-3 and 4-3 wins but the performances were shocking. Told the team they were lucky to get away with it...
    Up steps Jadon Sancho going absolutely ballistic at me, demands a transfer for talking to the players the way I did. Rest of the team were against him, so off he was shipped to Barcelona and dropped from the England Squad I also manage :D

    9:02 It differs from player to player, some players are easily getting mad by getting praised or criticized too many times, most of the players I talked to are fine with being praised as many times as you possibly can in FM22, maybe its also depending on your own trainers attributes

    That intro is _exactly_ the reason that I save before every player/team interaction that I possibly can (team talks unfortunately excluded from that for obvious reasons) - the way the players react to things is often so unhinged and unpredictable - where any reasonable human being would be able to appreciate context, players are like "what you praised us for doing well against a much better team despite losing where we actually did quite well and should be proud of ourselves HOW FREAKING DARE YOU, I'M FURIOUS!!!!1!" ... I can't deal with that and that's literally the only time I ever "savescum". If I make a mistake and their reactions are realistic to what I say, then that's fine even if it's negative. But if it's utter nonsense? Imma click on Load Game so damn fast...

      my Wimbledon team just got promoted to league 1. after the first 3 games, 2 wins and 1 draw. i told them "great job guys" and they were like
      *"what the fuck, we dont care that we never lost to the upper table teams, we dont think we are good enough, BECAUSE YOU SAID SO IN THE LAST MEETING BEFORE THE SEASON SO WE HAVE TO EXPECT ONLY THE WORST. i wanna be relegated"*

    Thats one reason why i prioritise Level of Discipline, Motivating and Determination attributes over the rest wenn i build my manager avatar. LoD to make players think twice when they want to talk back to me, Motivation to get this lil fu.... cheered up and Determination to make the presidents not saying no to every demand i have. 😈

    Every team talk I’ve done since getting the game makes my team inspired, I just say that we’ve created lots of shots, keep going and that works amazingly

    Brah, I feel your pain. I was 6 points clear of Barca with 4 to play as Villarreal, and during a team talk my cost assistant told me to e emphasize the importance of the next fixture. Well, my team went MENTAL!!. Needless to say we lost to Mallorca. Ok, no probs, 6 clear, 2 to play, mor am slightly down. So next ti me I play down the importance of the next fixture. Wel l blow me down if the dumb c***s go apesh!t again!! Draw at no me to Vigo. Ok, no probs we still got this, 4 clear, 2 to play, next game lost to R Soceidad. We draw the last game and don't win our first ever title!!! I scream at the whole team, resign and turn off the computer...

    Comment will likely get buried but whatever - I just want to express my appreciation for the work you put in to your channel and your career. Been watching you for a while now and your enthusiasm never wains, which is remarkable to me as I have been playing CM/FM since '93 and by god it can be a frustrating experience. You the man dude.     I think morale and dynamics has too much of an influence on FM. I get they want to simulate the instances where a low league club can do well in a cup but surely there must be a better way. The way the game now works, it seems like you can consistently beat better teams just as long as your morale is high. It cheapens the tactical experience a bit in my mind.

    The new team dynamic system have really put a HUGE premium on having older players with leadership skills.
    A team without any real leaders (usually a player over the age of 25 with a leadership of 16+ as well as being Professional or above) will have HUGE downward atmosphere swings when things get tough.
    RB Leipzig is the perfect example. Mediocre leadership by players added to the fact that they have a lot of younger players means mediocre locker room atmosphere even when youre winning.
    There's a reason why I pick up guys like Morten Thorsby or Sebastian Coates regularly. Theyll shoot to the top of your influencer charts and keep the younger guys mood swings in check.
    Also, and this is REALLY important, if you have a younger player who is a pain in the ass PUT THEM IN A MENTORING GROUP WITH TEAM LEADERS. Doesnt matter if theyre a keeper and the team leaders are attacking players. Have them mentor them to get rid of their less desirable personality attributes.
    The opposite of this is also true. Many young players suddenly become assholes if theyre mentored by an asshole veteran.

    This year seems particularly strange. I’ve found my team overachieving but a loss will plummet morale and board confidence from A+ to B. It’s crazy.
    Also noted a signing wanted 74k a week wage. Adjusted budgets to reduce wage allowance and his expectation dropped. Signed for 30k a week. Never noticed this before???

    I set a note to review training on the 1st of each month where I praise/criticize as appropriate, something I learned in FM21 when the getting mad because you said nice things about me too many times started for me. The note makes it easy to remember.
    The most difficult thing to manage is the playing time expectation. It's incredible how many players still expect to play 3 games in a week when your physio is telling you every other game they're jaded and need a rest.
    Also, I avoid any team talk I can like the plague and keep those I have to do (like end of season/preseason) as short and generic as possible.

    The day I realised that winning *any* match improves moral, any moral hole I'm in gets a friendly against a not good team. Friendlies in a moral hole are a godsend.

      And loosing drops moral also. Have had moral bounce between excellent and average just based on how we did in the previous games shown on that page. A couple of none playing players always staying not happy as well during that time.

    I've also found that friendlies help when a striker is on a scoring drought. Put them against a bad team and if they score less than 2 goals then keep doing friendlies until they knock in several at which point they should be ready to go again. If my striker is really struggling to turn it around I'll keep scheduling friendlies until the striker in questions scores 3 or more.

      Sounds legit! In the start of the season, I usually start with extremely difficult oppositions like Real Madrid, United e.t.c. before fighting against local teams.
      My team's morale goes from bad to excellent really quickly and it continues during the start of the season!

    As someone who hates losing I have had to adjust tact on later football managers based on who we are playing and the status of the club is. Currently having a tough start in my second season in the vanarama conference.

    They need to be more dynamic with expectations. i finished 2nd in the bundesliga with fortuna dusseldorf directly from promotion and the year after they just wanna avoid rfelegation i mean did they miss what we did last year. like i understand it was a fluke thing but you would think they at least be thinking mid table

      Agree with this. I have won the Austrian league 5 years in a row, yet the club vision is to finish in the top half (championship group) … like umm we dominate the league, anything below 1st is a poor season.

    I can agree with you. Having a coach with good motivating is so helpful. My assistant nuno gomes has 18 motivating so is able to help me nail those team talks.

    Team expectations in thks game are terrible. Im 2 seasons in my west ham save. First season in the team meeting i say europa qualifaction, team is like eeerrrr boss maybe top half finish. We finish 3rd and win europa league. 2nd season, hey team we should atleast get europa league qualifiaction, eeeer boss i think thats a stretch how about top half finish.

      It probably depends on your players' attributes and how good they are compared to other teams in the league. If u have an average squad even if u win the league, they'll probably be expecting a top half finish

    Had a busy january window and couldn't register a new signing for the europa league. (Max 3 new)
    Guy gets mad and 24 people agree with him. He then gets a 2 month injury that would've kept him from the 2 europa league matches we had.
    Never got a way to interact with the issue or talk to the team about it, just struggling to keep the team morale at average. Went from tied 2nd to struggling for 5th. He dropped it 2 months after us dropping out of Europe on his own
    I think the injury locked the issue into an unsolvable state

    on my Fiorentina save on the most recent deadline day I lost my top Striker Roko Simic who had 20 goals in the first half of the season, Sambi Lokongka who was my best mid (both to man utd and City respectively) and wonderkid centre back Wisdom Amey to Spurs and my team morale CRASHED overnight, team meeting ended in all red and orange feedback.
    LUCKILY an away win at Udinese rescued it all

    good video , i played football manager when first came out and again got it on my xbox x i got at christmas , the xbox version hasnt got a lot of stuff pc version has etc tactics wise xbox version doesnt have schedules for tactics plus just had balanced , attacking technical , physical , defending , possession tactical and set pieces i set it on tactical at beggining but as im player vanarama south in england would i be better concentrating on physical in pre season at least

    In Bayer Leverkusen in my save Palacios was the captain. I now hate that guy, yeah he was our best player, but he is so annoying. If I dont sell someone he says I shouldn't be cutting somebody's legs, if I do, I didn't do enough to keep him. The sale of Palacios after 5 seasons at the club was my third best decision in the whole save

    I have actually given up on fm22 dynamics and edited the morale of the team before every game. I am media predicted 11th and must finish mid table. Edited the morale for 14 games, won 12, drawn 2...

    Actually glad I stuck with fm21. Fm22 seems frustrating and the main selling point which is the dynamic national ratings isn't what we expected. Having a much lovelier time in last year's version. Understand the appeal of higher diffuculty but only when it makes sense. One can only affort to smash so many monitors until they're broke, and I have anger issues.

      @@SimersFM No one is complaining about a difficulty spike. Everyone is complaining that avoiding an unreasonable and unrealistic difficulty spike is tedious and actively unenjoyable.
      Im not sure where youre getting people complaining about the difficulty, but you seem more interested in just proving that youre good at the game. Which congrats if thats the case. Have a cookie and a free internet pat on the back.
      If thats not the case, SI need to find ways to raise the difficulty level (primarily in the top leagues, in my opinion, this isnt dark souls and shouldnt try to be) without creating unrealistic artificial obstacles on the player.
      Professional soccer players arent this fucking fickle.

    By the end of the season I was still in play for 3 trophy's (the title and two cups) Suddenly we got kicked out of one of the cups. Lost the title and lost the final of the other cup. And in the play off's after a very weird game lost the semi final. I actually never mentioned the result towards the players but the fact we got in these positions very close to the prices. Second season now only got 2 new players in and only two players left. We are dominating the lot and with a margin. Scores like 5-1 and 6-0 now happen frequently.

    Can anyone explain to me how a world class team full of superstars loses 1 - 0 to a team in the championship in the 3rd round of the FA cup ? They have 1 shot on target all game , I have 15 on target. I have 68% possession. I've been FM'd many a times in the past but that one just felt too unrealistic and i think my players felt the same because their morale and my club atmosphere tanked after that loss. I rage quit, played the same game, changed absolutely nothing in my set up for that game and then beat them 5 - 0?? The match engine is nicer to watch but my god does it do some really dumb shit sometimes :D Love the content by the way Zee keep it up!!

      Playing time expectations are super important to manage and provide a sense realistic challenge. Avoid star player as best as you can

      @@SimersFM I always try in the long term to get all my players on 5 years contracts with 2 year extensions. I then slowly take expectations down for everybody apart from 1 star player (who is set as a regular starter) and my first choice goalie, over the course of 3 seasons or so. Everyone else goes down to squad player. Occasionally some get upset at going down, but they usually get over it when they play regularly and then are fine with it after that. I learned to do this after having a terrible time with players set to realistic expectations. My 3 times Balon dor striker is a squad player and is delighted. Usually after a few years when contract renewals are up, with a bit of patience they will accept squad player (after years of being one) and if not, the they are sold with 2 years to go. It does lead to much more interest in your best players and more interest in them to leave, but if you just refuse to budge they eventually get over it, although in some cases this can take almost a full year. Need to make sure you have someone who can play most of the games whilst they are in a huff and give them plenty of sub appearances and starts in unimportant games.

    It's a bit of a graft but i praise my players who train over 8/10 every week. My average is up at around 8.5 for the squad and morale is always solid.

    Individual praise to players can only be down to 3 usually, occasionally 4 if you risk it, but doing it to more always ends in a bad reaction.
    Also, NEVER do anything but absolutely SLAM your players after a bad loss. Only be nice to them if it was against a much better team and you deserved to win, but we’re narrowly beaten.

    When giving team talks never focus on the scoreline. Focus on the player ratings. The score won't tell you about the performance, but the ratings almost always will.
    My humble advice.
    The game is still broken ofc, but still a little advice.

    So Ronaldo wanted me to bolster the midfield. I signed Bissouma in the summer and in the January window I traded Rashford and cash for Valverde because Madrid were interested in him. Elanga and Martial are tearing it up and I'm trying to lower the wage bill so I went for it.

      Teamwork is the big one to use. Match tactics/practice give less of an increase but the improve decision making and teamwork attributes. Defensive shape attacking movement etc help as well. Be sure to include training that increases cohesion in preseason. Team bonding keeps moral and happiness up

    You're right about only being able to praise or criticize training performance 2 weeks in a row, but your thresholds are off. You can praise anyone who has a training performance of 7.15 or better, and you can criticize anyone who trains at 6.65 or lower. I do it all the time and almost never have a player object. You used to be able to ask players to recommend players to sign (you can still ask) and they would have a positive dynamics reaction, but I believe they removed the dynamics reaction after FM20. I haven't tried it in FM22 but it didn't work anymore in FM21 as far as I found. And yes, a good captain who likes you will be able to talk practically any player out of any complaint.

    "Relationship simulator" 🤣 yeah it doesn't make sense, I have the best strike trio in the world in Haaland, Moukoko and Lucca with the latter 2 on the wing (Lucca as Wide Targetman). After 6 seasons of unprecedented success Lucca decided to want to be the Centre forward in his contract talks. I had to bite the bullet and sell him cos I can't drop the best CF in the game or shunt him anywhere else. Selling unhappy players at a lower expected price is a necessary evil indeed

    Played the demo as Man United I made Ronaldo captain, who was then upset as "he was too young to be captain".
    Stopped playing then and didn't buy the game and won't again until they fix stuff like that, I dont remember any nonesense like that in the older games like fm 08 so why now

    There’s always been wonky stuff going on with FM’s interactions because, how do you code in human reactions and emotions? You can’t! If my team loses, i don’t care if they’re unlucky or if they actually played bad, I always berate the shit outta them. But when I guide Blyth to a surprise promotion with a grade of A+ from the board, I get fired because I forgot about some dumb promise I made to them about using more players from our non-existent youth team. In both situations, the “human” thing is to say “oh, you were unlucky. Keep doing more of the same and trust the process” and the chairman would have been like “hm, this one small promise wasn’t fulfilled but the manager passed every other expectation with flying colors, i guess i can forgive not using youth players”. You can’t code in making exceptions

      "You can’t code in making exceptions" Yes you can. If X is achieved make exception for promises under Y level of importance. Could even prompt you a message telling you that an exception has been made this time specifically because the board is so pleased with accomplishment X and so you have been given more time to achieve the promise or maybe have it dropped altogether if their confidence in you is high enough. It can also be done in other different ways, of course, none of which are that esoteric. SI management suffers from complacency and making up excuses for them doesn't help. If only the media asked them about complacency as much as they ask me. Ironically that's also a feature that's barely been improved upon since its inception - press conferences.

    Meh I just throw the water bottle with every draw/loss, the lads have finally learned to be motivated by it after a couple of seasons. Turns out managing a club as a tyrant isn't too bad. Took a season or 2 to weed out the weaklings. Harsh code of conduct, heavy training, no shit taken from players, the mildest of praise for any win and bollockings for them all if they don't perform to my sometimes outrageous expectations. If they throw a tantrum, immediate offer to club spam and off they fuck in the next window. Sure I might cause a headache for myself at CB mid-season from time to time, but the end product has been more than worth it.

      Really no difference in dynamics between 21 and 22. The only difference is with offering players out, you simply can’t offer everyone out infinite times in 22. Pretty much the only difference

    Literally yesterday I sent all my main squad to the U23 team and the morale went downhill. Fortunatelly I saved the game just before this happening so I was able to reload.
    In case anyone is wondering how that happened - I was trying to set them all as "Available for U23" because I use my U23 and U18 in the pre-season for sorting players - main squad is, well, main squad, U23 are players that are either worth keeping in the reserves or players that I'm planning to loan out. U18 is just my garbage bin. I have high standards.
