@@KekeJ So true! At work a coworker asked what I used for my wash-n-go and I was like nothing because these are microlocs 🤣... when I was a loose natural I could never get a wash-n-go right
I'm getting my starter micro locs in 3 days and I almost canceled my appointment out of fear because having locs is a WHOLE NEW WORLD and I've been natural for years. But after watching your videos I'm going to keep my appointment. Also, I love your positivity and sweet spirit. God bless you girl!!
@@linenashley I'm officially 5 months into my loc journey and I LOVE IT!! I'd be lying if I said there were days I didn't miss my fro but this freedom is EVERYTHING. I even went swimming for the first time since I was a kid and it was amazing 😭
I get treated by a neurologist for migraines so I understand and my heart goes out to you; I pray you get relief. Your. Locs are still beautiful as ever!
Try switching to a whole food plantbased diet. You may have food allergies or sensitivities. Not to mention a lot of processed foods have additives, preservatives and toxins your body may be responding to.
I love design essentials shampoos. I first wash with oat and protein to clarify and follow up with the honey creme moisture shampoos. My locs always feel and smell amazing!!
Hi, I used to use Shea Moisture's Jamaican Black Castor Oil line and started having terrible migraines that lasted for days also. Then the Lord showed me in a dream that it was that product line that I was using that caused the headaches. As soon as I stopped using that line my headaches stopped. A friend of mine also was using that line and having very bad migraines, to the point of going to a neurologist. That product line absolutely works wonders on the hair, but whatever is in it causes terrible migraines. Be blessed❤️
Keke omg I also have a migraine today and I can relate to what you said about your shower! The only reason why I can even stand it is because my shower head has a massage setting and I focus it on the back of my head, and oh my goodness it helps so much. Gets rid of some of that tension.
@@KekeJ Waterpik. It’s not the highest quality but it works great for my needs. The specific setting I use is called the PowerPulse massage. I hope you try it out and get some relief when you have migraines! :)
Not sure if you've tried it but aloe vera gel works for edges and doesn't leave residue. It can be use for skin too. I've been using it for 6 months now!
@@iamkeither Hey there Celine! I'm happy to share 😊 So I started my DIY micro loc journey with two strand twists after 10+ years of having a short boy cut/fade. In the midst of maintaining my starter locs (once my hair got long enough), I went through an ordeal with flaky and scaley scalp as it got used to having a full head of hair and the absence of any product use. My face also started breaking out because of the additional oil my scalp was producing due to my new hair growth. It took me about 8 months to get my loc life together and establish a routine. I had a rough start but when I look at my beautiful progress, I'm literally in love with my hair (and my scalp and skin)
Absolutely Beautiful!😍 I'm also suffer with migraines... haven't had a serious flare up in a while but I definitely get it. My loctician recommended Carol's Daughter Wash Day Delight (the Aloe) and I Absolutely love it!
Excedrin migraine works for me. I have nocturnal epilepsy. I suffer with migraines that cause me to be sensitive to light and sound. I take three Excedrin then I'm functional. Love your locs. I hope you feel better soon.
I hate that you have to experience that 😞 I’ve used exceedingly a couple of time but it leaves me feeling sluggish sometimes. Maybe I should take 3 the next time as well! Thank you so much as well! I feel a lot better now 😊
I combed my locs out a month ago, but I loved the Alikay Naturals shampoo (the Black Soap one and The Caribbean Coconut one). It's all natural, a little goes a long way and you get a lot of lather too. The Caribbean Coconut was super moisturizing.
Have you tried my African pride (moisture miracle) or longrich shampoo? I used and love my African pride when I was a loose natural and I really like longrich cleansing treatment 2in1 shampoo for my locs too.
I’ve picked mine out regularly from the beginning so that they don’t lock up. It’s a lot of work but I like having the best of both worlds, curls and locs🥰
I am love with your locs ! And I love your videos ! How did you know how small to make your parts when installing your locs yourself ? And how finish plan on keeping your ends curly ?
Hi KeKe👋🏾I'm about 3 months into my micro loc journey & I'm definitely struggling lol. I have a lot of questions, but I'll only ask one. What do you do about lint getting caught in your locs at the nape of your neck?? I'm having that issue and I'm unsure of what to do. Thank you.
I think it’s all the extra care she takes to make sure her hair is moisturized. Good shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, tee shirt to dry instead of a towel. Keke is the only loc’d sis that I’ve seen that treats her locs like loose natural hair as far as wash day. And look at the resultssss 😍😍😍
You shouldn’t use conditioner on newer starter locs. It can slow down the locking process. But since I’m 8 months in, my locs are starting to mature. So I don’t run the risk of them unraveling
I'm not sure if I get migraines but I'm also scared to go to the doctor cuz that would be so embarrassing to show up and have nothing wrong with me 😭 I hope you feel better
Thanks for sharing your video, I am a migraine sufferer and you mentioned an adjustment can you please explain what that meant...cause Honey I know what it means to suffer with a migraine ❤️
I’m sorry to hear that! I see a chiropractor and she adjusts my neck, back and shoulders. Adjustments can do wonders for migraines. I had that migraine for a day and a half and went to see her. By the next day it was congratulations gone! I also have back problems due to poor posture and it helps for that as well. And it just feels so good to have my bones popped lol
For your skin Do you eat or drink a lot of sugary things? You might try removing dairy, refined sugar, and/or things fried in vegetable oil from your diet. Plus, drink at least half your weight, in ounces of water, per day.
I have been going crazy in the sweets! lol I’m guilty! But I’ve been cutting back and eating cleaner. I do drink water but need to boost up the intake in that
Do you ever deal with your reties becoming undone after wash day? I just started my love journey a few months ago and this is a reoccurring issue for me. Do you have any tips?
I’ve never dealt with my reties coming undone, only my ends that were twisted. Since they are coming undone, I would suggest banding as well during wash days to prevent them from unraveling
Your locs are super fluffy after your wash. If hadn't known better, I'd think you had a wash and go rather than locs😊 thanks for this video ❤❤❤
