    The way you parted your hair THAT well by eye is similar to how grandma measures recipes by eye. GIRL, THAT is skills! Thanks for sharing, because I’ve been wondering what your process was!

    I love this! You just gave us a grid technique without charging us a thing! People are making money off of teaching courses on their own version or technique of locs. You really could market this if you wanted. It seems the be the most natural way! Perfect sizing! Beautiful and neat! 😍😍😍

      Exactly, not only did she give us a free grid technique, but I find it the easiest to follow for DIY! Even when re-interlocking, easy to tell which row you stopped at. She's Heavenly sent, God Bless her! I am in Canada and I have been contemplating if to DIY or pay a loctician $700 plus, this video made me decide to DIY!

    I have looked at this video at least 10 times. I could NOT stand all those HARSH lines in my head, either. So, the brick layer makes sense.
    You are the one that inspired me to comb out my uneven and poorly parted traditional locs and go smaller. I will be starting this Nov during my bday vacay and I can't wait!
    I think I may even start a YT channel to documents my journey, so thank you!

    So I kinda like grids, but I don’t, lol 😂! For my locs I KNEW I wanted a center part, but diamonds parts in the back. So I kinda have a mix. For my daughter’s locs I wanted her to have a designated center part also, but not all the way down to the back because I agree with you, it takes away some fullness. I love the way you did your grid pattern, very clever👌🏿! Thanks for sharing ❤️!

    I've been struggling on even picturing a layout of how I want my locs but this makes sense to me. I'm also very particular which is why I'm nervous about going to someone to start them only to come home and not feel 100% . Doing them myself I can test them out just like you did and play around with it until I'm satisfied. Thanks for sharing!

  • @Ams-do6sx
    @Ams-do6sx ปีที่แล้ว +6

    What you've done is very technical and impressive! I kinda wish I had a grid pattern as I went for even partings as if I was having microbraids done. Like you, I have a middle part in the front only on my loctician's advice.
    Originally, I had no middle parting as that is what I was used to with braids (it looked more natural to me) but in reality then I didn't like it on locs as it's more permanent 🤦🏾‍♀️. When I went back for my first retie, my loctician redid some locs in the front section and put a middle part in (I'm so glad ahe was patient with my indecision and didn't charge me more! 😂). I was insisting the middle part goes all the way back like sisterlocs and my loctician said no. I'm so glad I listened. It falls a lot more naturally now.
    If I could start again I would do mine exactly like yours. I'm going to send your video to my sister so she's well informed before she starts hers as she is obsessed with having a grid. I think your method is perfect, natural looking and versatile. It has the uniformity is fuller and doesn't have that 'scalpy' look.

    That was amazing! Your Loc Pattern is Nice & Crisp! You did awesome! I started my Locs 10.26.20, with no previous experience but just knowing how to Mini Twist my hair. I tried to follow some type of pattern in order to have some type of neatness, but it’s in no way perfect. lol, at the end of the day we get Locd Hair and I’m just so happy with that. I had no experience and had several spaces in most of the Locs at the end of my self-install but it’s growing pretty well just some super-thick end on some of my Locs (which I think is caused by the spaces) but not looking bad at all. Thanks for this super-informative video; others will surely learn another great way of creating a pattern. 🙌🏽🥰

    Thank you!!! This is what I needed. I have started my locs and taken them down twice now because they turn out to be bigger than I want. The first time I did them, I freehanded the back and parted the front. I wasn’t too into that because I like crispness just like you. So I redid them and used a grid patter the second time. They still aren’t the right size and it’s still not as straight as I want. So I am currently taking them down and I will be using your parting method. It seems so much easier! Keke J, Sis!!! You are phenomenal, amazing. It's extremely impressive that this is freehand because of the precision, uniformity of size and accomplishment of the aesthetic goals. Whether a natural or cultivated skill, this demonstrates mathematical inclination in ways architects and engineers would appreciate. I particularly love how knowing what you did/didn't want informed your choices and personalized your process to great success. Structures as a guide, not a limitation. Yes'm. That IS freedom. I've been nervous about learning to retighten my hair, afraid to "mess it up". Meanwhile you did a full installment on yours. I'm in awe and inspired. I feel encouraged to learn. Thanks you, Lioness. Hi Keke, this weekend is my start, second time moving forward with a mane, your inspiring videos got me there. Two questions; 1) When you started your microlocs I assumed you washed of course did you blow dry your hair or how did you prep it for the twists in terms of texture, product, etc.? 2) How long after you applied the locing product did you do your first wash? This would really help me take leap #2 and join the pride, thanks.

    You are amazing! And gorgeous! Your locs look freaking amazing. I’m going to pay someone to do mine bc I have too much hair and I want the brick style grid and as small as possible without having my hair pull out once it’s forming and growing. You just gave me that last 5% boost to know brick is what I want and the exact reason behind wanting it.

    Very helpful 👌🏽, you did an amazing job. This is inspiring me to take the microloc journey. I have a client who wants the bricklayer grid. I'm going to try your method. Thanks 😊

    I love this grid pattern for you. I totally understand the back middle part issue. I do like that you personalized your grid pattern. I have a personalized design that I want for myself and other people don't have it, but I like my hair parted a certain way even when I wear braids now, I part it that same way. I work with the head I have and the styles I like to wear. I love your pattern and the way it works for you

    Keke, you are so dope! Your pattern is my favorite and I love how your microlocs lay. I plan to start my diy microlocs soon. I have to do sections because I'm so slow at doing my hair so... maybe I'll be done within a week because I want to interlock instead of two strand twist.
