    Love to see you using the herring you caught as bait! Congrats to Joe on thornback, it's always great to have friends come along and get hooked on fishing.

    You should use barbless circle hooks makes it easier too release and you won't gut hook

    Wow! You guys are really good at fishing! That looks like Heron's Head Park. Also, is this place any good for poke pole fishing? I do see plenty of rocks.

    I am targeting smaller sharks and rays (I don't want to catch big ones) and I am using a piece of cut squid for bait. Could I use a size 2/0 baitholder hook or are circle hooks better?

    • @sf_angler
      @sf_angler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Baitholder hooks would work great

    Fun day! Is Joe now hooked? :-)
    This length is good. 6-9 minutes works well.

    A man love all yours videos where is the best place to go fishing in San Francisco

    • @sf_angler
      @sf_angler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The great thing about fishing San Francisco is that the entire waterfront has great fishing! I personally like to fish the eastern side of the city, from the Municipal Pier all the way down to Candlestick Park.

    what wight of rods and line do you use

    • @sf_angler
      @sf_angler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! I use a medium-heavy rod, 40 lb braided mainline, and 50 lb monofilament leader for abrasion resistance in the rocks. Everything is linked in the description if you want to check it out

      Thanks for watching! Don't remember where I got it, I've had it for a long time. It's just a neck gaiter, there are tons of different brands online.
