Seeing you struggling a bit on slow/stop traffic,really wish LTA allows throttle for ebikes. Really hate it when im on slow traffic and i have to foot-crawl my way ahead. If i pedal,the motor will kick in and i have to keep brake-pedal-brake.
I totally to your brake-pedal-brake comment. It was very frustrating but luckily the x16 acceleration on mode 3 from standstill was pretty good. It's not the same as throttle but given the restrictions it had fast pickup.

Orchard side mostly riders use mode ebike.orchard side no need to book shift.can just constantly get orders
I didn't really see that many ebikes that day. Mostly motorbikes and walkers. But then i was too focused on my riding so i could hv missed them on the road.
Is there a difference in the distance between shift and non shift for downtown?

I remember back when first join grab for the 1st day, my first day i start as bicycle at novena. I follow my friend to bring me. Cause he is more familiar. But got 1 time he didnt know how go..i received 3 order as stack. 1 is send to one condo in novena. The other 2 is newton posb branch. We keep go round and round finding the place. End up send this 3 order which is near took me 2hrs plus
The first delivery we ever do i think is very memorable to a lot of riders 😊
@grabadventures order was good. Keep on coming the flow. 4hrs at novena. I drop 12 orders. Actually could do more. But due to unfamiliarity at novena. All round and round wasted time traveling and finding

Get authorities Staff to ride ebike on the road from point A to B having to obey the rules and change lanes frequently when turning right at max 25kmh when cars are shooting by at 60kmh and unwilling to give way. How does it feel in terms of safety to car drivers and bike riders? But I wonder is it too rude to ask the chief to do the experiment even though he is a public servant? 🤣

😂Very Very Stressful at there for Grab & low paid & many Grab customers complaint of receiving many Cold food at Orchard zone due to low pay for Grab Riders there. U should convert to $10/trip FOODPANDA better.😘 Orchard is the Land for Foodpanda /Deliveroo customer only.

I'm assuming the other walker is Daryl. The last I saw him was Nov 2023 at Nassim Road (Downtown Zone). Then 2024 never bumped into him in Downtown Zone anymore. He did mentioned before that if he's not at Orchard Area, he will be at CBD. If you feel Orchard area is pressuring, you may wanna take up the challenge to do lunch at CBD area which is at Cecil Street, Robinson Riad, Raffles Quay, Marina Blvd, Park Street, Shenton Way etc.. these locations are still under Downtown Zone (or Bukit Merah Zone). You can take MRT to Raffles Place (if you wanna straight away cheong rush hour) or my advise is start with good momentum at Chinatown (Purple Line) or Outram Park (Green Line) and online from there. Perhaps you may get to bump into Daryl there.
I stay in Tiong bahru area , every single time without fail , i'll get sent to RV then to orchard. I've been doing for 2 years and can still never tahan the orchard traffic.

Not to worry by car horning. There are of course always perverted drivers wanting to tekkan riders. But mostly, imho, hornings especially the short hornings, are meant for the rider safety. How so? Car drivers horn for a reason. They see the feeble or humble little ebike infront of them, some wobbling , they worry for the rider safety. Of course this is for driver themselves' benefit also as they dont wanna get into trouble. Just observe riders from behind and we can see that many or most cars when see a ebiker will quickly steer clear to avoid issues. Some horn to let riders know there is car behind and to ensure the rider is alert and aware. So, i feel that 9/10 horns have good intentions😅 its a matter of opposite perspectives.

4:22 have to stop at the foot of that uphill (yellow box area) when the light is red, or else good luck if you want to start from a complete stop.
I was able to hit $180 on Deliveroo on a recent Sunday. Two shifts, and there were tips of $11 ;)
For downtown some areas just need to walk, it's faster. But I know some tricks for shortcuts, tell you next time.
180 is good earnings. I think i stick to grab till i become familiar with the layout then maybe i try roo. Would love to meetup with you next time i am doing downtown.

Seems like town area really bicycle easier but tiring, ebike dangerous and have to push at pavement or go long way or you know the ahem way 😂 😂 😂
*ahem* i know what you mean. i think bicycle also tough. coz the pedestrian walkways are really crowded and you still have to park and secure. Multiple times i go through one entrance and exit from somewhere else but have to retrace my steps back to my parked ebike. I think Pates has the right mode for downtown deliveries. Walker.

Payout was definitely way higher than in the heartlands. But due to the fact that I was unfamiliar with the whole zone, i felt i lost a lot of potential earnings. I did 22 orders but could have done more once i become more familiar.
@@grabadventures yes for sure! I get it sometimes u feel discouraged when i first started there i feel very discouraged especially i was on bicycle but as time passed by didn’t had to rely much on the map. And always on the ball cos of the payout.. do part 2! Hahaha.

DT have many many killers-motivation shop but below is some of the hot list.
°Shops you can end up waiting 30mins to 1hr. Hard to engage any one who works there on how long it will take

°Shops that depends on your luck either is fresh order or someone before you cancelled. i waited an hour a few times before, but i think they are getting better

All Mart shops have to be careful. Some customers are assholes order multi cartons of 1.5L bottle yet they stay at the no-lift residential area. I delivered 2 carton to lvl 4 before. Not worth the $8(include the $3 for large orders) at all for that effort.. End up hurting my back, shoulders and knee cap. Went bck home straight after.....

I think motorcycles are still the best for islandwide deliveries.
@@grabadventures yes because of the power of engines and petrol stations allow refueling. But food delivery is supposed to be mainly for distances within 3 to 5km because it uses riders NEAREST. When non-islandwide riders get longer than this distance it is not a good sign. Could jt mean the platform has not enough riders? Very unlikely. Or are some riders getting the lousier orders? Or forced to leave the platform? I am not alluding to any particular platform out of self preservation
@LonganLee i understand what u mean. I think this has to do with the fact that some riders use incorrect delivery modes to take advantage of the system? I am not sure but do u think that might have something to do with the distance mismatch?
@@grabadventures certainly there are some who use motor when registered as motorcyclist. But that aside the main issue remaining is the fact that Motorcyclists do have a significantly higher cost of operating their mode of transport compared to ebikes. Its not about being against ebikes but stating the obvious reality. In other words, CONGRATS to ebikers doing food delivery because they do earn more on a per order per KM basis when we factor in COE and all the many costs too many to mention for motorcycles. Like it or not, the Motorcyclists are the suckers when compared with ebikers more now than the past when COE was reasonably much lower. Let's say,10k COE. What do ebikers pay? $0. Just on this and not factoring the daily petrol, daily parking, bi-weekly maintainance costs, fines if any, road tax etc the PER ORDER income is actually much lower than the fares motorcyclists receive. Most Motorcyclists ignore the COE cost and look at the per order fares. They are the true suckers. For those doing part time, a say $10k motor coe is basically year whole year of earnings with risks to their lives not accounted for. This job looks shiok when you get many orders for short distance deliveries, instant gratification, but it's definitely not what it seems. Ebike may get $4.50 to $6 for typical orders. Motorcyclists may also get the same range though mostly 5 or higher. So difference is very little and infact minusing the coe amortised over 10 years plus all the costs divided into per day or per order, ita really significantly lower than ebikers. All it takes is 1 accident. Every cent you earned maybe also not enough to cover

Incorrect modes can be quite easily checked as shocking as this may sound. When entering condo, vehicle numbers will be recorded. If this data can cross check with platform, very few dare to cheat.
If we say Bo Bian , we ensure problem remains because we stop looking for solution or no attempt is made when we self-fulfilled the prophecy that it is Bo Bian. If we Try, usually there will be more than one solution. Bo Bian is to avoid confronting the issue because of FEAR or person has already psychologically surrendered .

Edit: Novena is now part of Lower Central. So only up to Newton and Stevens (which is at the border of Lower Central and Downtown zones).

Morning bro. It depends on the rider's stamina.
When i was using a bicycle i could hit only 2 orders due to my age and fitness level.
When i switch to ebike i could hit 3 orders in the hour.
Plus I could work for a longer time as I did not tire out easily.
But there are riders on bicycle who can achieve the same results.
Grab allocation and distance for bicycle and ebike is quite similar nowadays.

Actually hor, nowadays with the fees across all 3 platforms so low per trip and maintenance of our vehicles are so high, is it still worth it to be a good delivery rider?
I am not sure for full time riders but as a part time rider it's still ok but the real test will come once we see how cpf is going to be implemented mid year.
