1:14:17 -There are some potential explaintations. One I like recognizes that Miranda has been doing this for at least a couple hundred years at this point. While the lords are more recent, she has been experimenting and reaching her tentacles in for some time. While the village remains reclusive, she clearly has been reaching her tentacles out far across the world to do buisness with the organization that made Evelyn and potentially a lot more in disguise or through proxy minions. There is something to say about the Merchant in RE 4 potentially being tied to the village. The Duke himself seems to have been one of Miranda's followers at one point and likley acted as a roving errand boy himself. The plagas were a legend from before her time so it seems a little coincidental that Umbrella would get the idea to use a paracitic creature to control their BOW AND a character with seeming ties to the Duke would be around when the Plagas re-emerged considering she is using a similar tactic in her experiments. It's still hypothesis but we can easily see how Miranda may have been reaching out to play puppetmaster and using other events in RE history as means to experiment or collect observational data through th else of others. Thus it also would no be so surprising if she was snatching up people over the last couple hundred years from all over, especially companies or factions that wouldn't put out missing posters. As a Romanian, my biggest complaint about RE8 is how they handled the games setting. I was very excited to find out that Romania was the setting for the game, as its a country that doesnt get almost any coverage in games however they did almost nothing with it. Besides a few names being Romanian such as lady Dimitrescu and the mentioning of a few Romanian foods, plus a few other minor things here and there, the game didnt have anything to do with the setting. RE8 could have been set in any other European country and it wouldnt make any difference. No one in the game spoke Romanian nor was there any Romanian writing anywhere, The characters didn't even have any generic European accents. Which really disappointed me, I thought they'd handle it more like they did the RE4 Remake.
This is amazing! I honestly agree with your take, but at the same time, if Biohazard and Village were separate from Resident Evil, I probably wouldn’t have been introduced to all of the other games, which I do love! I also do agree with your “all stories must end” bit, but there’s a part of me that would be ecstatic if Ethan came back in a later game, or even just a DLC again. I just love his character and hate to see him potentially gone forever, at least canonically, but all stories have to end somehow. Thank you for the video, I really enjoyed it :)
@@arkham666 Of course! I’d love to see this blow up, even just a bit, the humor is simple and funny, each section kept me engaged and was interesting, and it’s just a nice video

About your point on how these two games should have gone down a more Lovecraftian and Supernatural route if they werent in the Resident Evil world, i do have to ask, why can't they? Sure, Resident Evil started out as a grounded and realistic story, but so do Lovecraftian and Supernatural stories. They start in the normal, the natural, then dive into the unnatural. Plus, lets be honest, Resident Evil has never been normal since RE4. So, i completely agree that these games could have been much better (they're still amazing, two of my favorite RE games) if they had gone down these routes, but also, they still could have and stayed in the world of Resident Evil. Like, imagine if Evelyn was still a bioweapon, but she had died and her angry ghost used her bioweapon powers? And like you said, the Megamycete being a lovecraftian Elder God or Old One could have been a truly fantastic twist. But, heres the thing, they still can go down this route. We know the Megamycete is still alive, as pieces of it were taken by the BSAA, so it can still come back and be the Lovecraftian threat it was always meamt to be. And, as Evelyn is inside it, she can be the paranormal ghost she could always be. Now, im not saying Evelyn should come back, her story is over and it ended fantastically. However, the potential for Resident Evil to go more supernatural and Eldritch is definitely there. In fact, I feel like going down that route would end up solving mamy issues. We'd be able to keep the horror we've always loved, but would be able to ballance it with the action we love since the stakes are much higher that more action would be needed to balance that. Thats just my opinion anyway. I love Lovecraftian and Eldritch horror and theres a severe lack of video games done in said genres, so, I may be rather biased, lol
I don’t really think it’s that far fetched to think Heisenberg is into human trafficking and that’s where he gets people from.. and it’s unfortunately a lot more realistic than a lot of people think.. it’s one of the biggest markets in the world period

No one in the game spoke Romanian nor was there any Romanian writing anywhere, The characters didn't even have any generic European accents. Which really disappointed me, I thought they'd handle it more like they did the RE4 Remake.
I, for one, really appreciate the Vampyr reference.
Great game. I really enjoyed my time with it
This is amazing!
@@Cawffee7 you're welcome. And thanks for the share. Glad you enjoy Ethan's story as much as I do.
@@arkham666 Of course! I’d love to see this blow up, even just a bit, the humor is simple and funny, each section kept me engaged and was interesting, and it’s just a nice video
UNPOPULAR OPINION: REVillage > RE7
Village might be in my top 3 in the whole RE series ❤🤷♂️
I love resident evil 7. It's one of my favorites of the franchise now. I didn't enjoy village as much, but it's still a great game. I do agree though that these games could have probably been even better if they weren't restricted by the "resident evil" name.
Playing them back to back I do think I prefer 8 a little more than seven though that might be because it still feels newer to me. I'll get back to you in a couple of years lol. Re7 has way better dlcs than 8. Shadow of Rose is awful.
Also I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw some potential going to waste.
WHY did chris in RE8 act like a villain until the end???? He couldnt give ethan a hint at some point, there were many opportunities.... please capcom, make story accurate stuff and keep the damn good gameplay and graphics.

@@gilah718 his own people pull him up on that too lol.
Jesus your game looks so good
How the hell does one achieve that?
@@BucketIHead are you on PC or console?
@arkham666 currently on console but i was thinking of getting the game on my pc
Literally every single one of the 'cheap' tripwires in Lucas' area are either very clearly visible if you bother to look or are very predictable just based on the environment.
@@jamieflowerchap6278 well I'm glad it was easier for you on your first time than me but that doesn't make them any less gimmicky and low effort as far as being mechanics go.
The tripwires are cool IMO I like luring the molded into the wires and box traps. That being said it was a little annoying to sneak through the same traps after a death. It's good in short bursts, that's the charm to me about the Lucas section, it's a nice change of pace from the classic RE formula we get from Jack and Marguerite, and it didnt overstay its welcome (IMO)
The bad mounting on saw brought down the score but otherwise great video 🙏
@@Malevolence460 well thanks but I'm still going to bad mouth saw every chance I get. It's garbage.
@@arkham666 I pity you, were you able to see the brand new one that came out? I thought it was amazing (mostly because Tobin Bell came back to star lol)
@@Malevolence460 Iol don't take me too seriously friend it's all just for fun. You like saw I don't it's fine. What's important is we both like Resident Evil.
@@arkham666 True that homie, 7 was the first one I was able to finish. I played 4 first on the Wii when I was like 8 and it scared the ever loving shit out of me 😂
This was a masterpiece
@@wizard-guy7180 thank you. I'm pretty passionate about old Mr Winters
Fuck yeah
i like ur vid essays thats what i say :D
I like ur comment that's what I say. Thanks.
I don’t really think it’s that far fetched to think Heisenberg is into human trafficking and that’s where he gets people from.. and it’s unfortunately a lot more realistic than a lot of people think.. it’s one of the biggest markets in the world period

@@OrphanCrippler1 not that hot I'd say. Mr X in re 2 remake got pretty boring. Still I don't think it's the idea so much the execution that's the issue.
