Biggest myth.. you don’t have your be physically fit at all.. fitness standards are so low now and.. there is no merit in actually been super fit when the lazy and crippled get the same respect and treated the same.. save the time and effort and get a private gym membership.. and invest in yourself

You're talking rubbish, I'm a veteran and i will tell you now that its hard work because you need guts stamina and you have got to be fit to fight if you're not you will struggle especially in the infantry, like carrying 20 and a half kilos on your waist besides what you carry on your back, all in all it's about 80 lb and that's without your brecon pouch.

I’m a 2434 from 1974 - 1998. I’m 69. No one took fitness seriously in my day. I was lucky, I was/am one of life’s runners; the army forgives a runner a lot. I always detested seeing fat soldiers promoted. Drinking and smoking was the culture. Fitness is still just not a priority. My contemporaries today are all fat, have Type two diabetes or dead.

@@MilitaryFitness Very. It saddens me to see the fat soldiers today; worse even than in my day. Fat soldiers always let you down in an emergency; just like fat people in general.
