Great review and video! Stumbled across your channel and love it, not to mention I just got back from Kodiak less than two weeks ago. Third trip in as many years as it’s truly a hidden gem for bear photography. Already planning next year’s trip.
Hi Kris. I have kind of niche -question. I own the C70 and the R6ii and do TV run and gun work. The R6ii has great downsampled lowlight and a great looking but only 8bit 4k 50p. I got the R5ii now for the 4k 100p and better codecs but I shocked about the limited lowlight capabilities. If you had the C70 and R6ii and the chance to replace one of them - would you get the C400 for the C70 or the R5ii for the R6ii?
I always make a folder on my mac or external harddrive that is titled the date/location/subject. Then I drag the folder into my editing software and go through each one to see what videos I like vs what videos to throw away
@@KrisLuckPhoto thank you ..lm going on safari in a couple of weeks and a bit unsure about risking shooting in clog… but watching yours and other channels inspires to to try.. the results look great…but so far I have to say out of camera.. 1 dx ii and r3…I’ve been pleased…I’m new to video editing… mainly been stills…last time I went on safari…in hindsight took too little video and also made loads of mistakes …ie trying to handhold 500mm..so a lot of footage was unusable and too shaky…and forgetting to alter shutter speed back to video etc…but I’ve got stability sorted and custom functions for video sorted..so I’ll try your suggestions tomorrow and practice…thx again 😎👏👏👏👍
Thanks a lot of this video. I'm a bird photographer mostly and am planning on using my R5m2 for video and still. This was a great help to me. I assume you can get the Canon CLog2 LUT from Canon, right? Right now, here is SC, USA, there is almost nothing to shoot. I want out this morning can could not find a subject. In 2020, after the R5m1 was released, I did not believe the R5 could track a bird at all, until about 6months later when I went to FL where the sky was filled with birds. I'm dealing with the same thing now. I'm making plans to get to the SC coast in a few weeks to get near some birds, so I will be using your content to get some BIF video! I know still shooting pretty well, but I need a boost on the video. I hope my new 1TB CF-e card is enough. Thanks again!
Canon has it on their website but it comes with a bunch of files, I uploaded the one that works best in the link in the description. The 1tb card should be plenty for a while! I was using 2tb and barely put a dent into it with 5000 photos and videos sprinkled in
@@KrisLuckPhoto yeah, I had the mark I for 3 years before upgrading to the R5C a few months ago and I had no idea that it didn’t either before buying. I’m considering upgrading again because I use 120p so much
In good lighting I like to shoot as well exposed as possible, in bad lighting I find i like to over expose a little bit unless you want the footage to look a little darker
Finally someone does an 8K raw video with the R5ii, the video I've been waiting for! Thumbs up
Is this the first video you've ever watched or something? Lol been plenty of videos

What is your workflow from camera to Mac to editing software for clog 2/3… I’m a newbie to clog and raw video

Does it do AF Tracking in 4k 120? The R5C doesn't so i'm interested in this thanks
Yes and so did the R5 Mark I. I didn’t know that about the R5C!

@@EpicNovA97 yeah that would be a huge deal breaker for me too!!
@@KrisLuckPhoto really just waiting for a comparison vid between the 2 but so far, the R5C is seeming a bit redundant. Such a kick in the teeth -.-
What exact CFS Express B card do you use on the mark II? Trying to find the best one that will be future proof for the II
I recently got the Angelbird 2tb with speeds of 1785mbps. Works great so far
When you shoot and c-log, are you exposing at zero or are you over exposing

Keep safe with all those bears. You don't want to end up like Grizzly Man. A gentle soul eaten by a bear.
