    If you had no butter or margarine you could use the mayo instead for the grilled cheese. It's very tasty.

    You could take a slice of bread and make croutons and sometimes I like to add rice to my tomato soup.

    Save them fast food packets like soy sauce and ketchup. They come in handy when run out of them.

    Just a reminder to those who may not have some go-to seasonings and sauces that the ramen dish as well as the brown rice could also be seasoned with the seasoning packets that come with the ramen. This is a great video for college students, too, who may be limited to cooking options such as just a microwave or a rice cooker.

    I love tuna salad as a baked potato topping/filling, or if DT has canned small whole potatoes to lightly roast in the oven and smash, then top with the tuna salad mix. Also, saving those extra condiment pkgs from takeouts will help to stretch a limited budget 🫠

    You weren’t doing anything wrong brown rice takes FOREVER to cook. I know it’s supposed to be healthier for you. I never eat it. I stick to white rice. #SayYesToBadCarbs! That grilled cheese cream of tomato soup lunch looked like pure heaven, and yes you have to dunk. It’s actually a rule! It is! Trust me, I’m older than a lot of you. 😁

      I mix half white rice and half brown rice. It pretty much tastes like just white rice but with a little extra nutrition. 😊❣️

    You can make fried rice with a little bit of oil then add the soy. Can also add onion powder and garlic powder to flavor up the dinners too

    @allyrooh3628 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I think you did great. You actually have more meals than 24 if you include the meals you could have made with the extra ramen. Another way to bulk up tomato soup if to make homemade croutons to put on top. (Sometimes the budget might not allow for cheese 😮). When I make tuna on a budget, I add some chopped up pickles or just pickle juice to mimic relish. Good video!

      I love dill pickles I hate the dill relish in a plastic squeeze bottle it tastes like man made chemicals to me. I always have to say man made because some idiot that wants to prove they are smart says the whole world is made of chemicals.

    Retired and tight budget , I do online surveys and use the money I earn for at least 1 weeks of grocery’s a month , I also scan all free sample sites , when I walk my dog I look for Pennies etc , it sounds silly but every bit helps , I find Grocery Outlet pretty good prices , especially for things with only a week left til they expire, just plan meals around , eat right away , and I don’t have a car and it’s real close to my house .

      They’re going to have some stuff though, specifically spices and oils. No one shops each week, and throws away the leftovers and buys new stuff the next week. At the very least, everyone should have vegetable oil and salt. Both are relatively inexpensive and no one should be using an entire container of either in a week. Unless they want to, you know, DIE, lol
