We’ve also been up and down with content and chopped and changed so many times. Do what makes you happy and that will transpire through your videos. Have you looked into learning to ride motorcycles ? That would make a great journey of wonderful amazing life experiences. You guys would be awesome. It’s nice to hear from you keep us updated even if it’s not a video. I regularly check the community page to see if there was any updates so I’m pleased that you’re still going to post videos. We can relate to how it feels when you're building the van over a long period of time and it starts to be never ending and always on your mind, yeah the going to bed thinking about problems when all you want to do is sleep but your mind decides it's a good time to go though all the wiring connections piece by piece or figure out some plumbing...! 😶We started our channel for the same reason as you to have something to look back on one day and have often had months between videos as we wouldn't be able to make them as we want them otherwise. Enjoy yourselves and post something when you feel like it, or don't and just enjoy it off camera. Always loved watching your content, two newbie’s taking on a huge project, and what always shines through, it your love and respect for each other, sometimes we make some choices and ultimately they are mistakes, but you learn to adapt, you run with what you have committed too, such a shame to announce the build is coming to a close, but it’s a new start, not the end. TH-cam loves real people, how much of your busy schedule, can you spend on a van which is not giving you the opportunity to use it enough, and the up keep for storing it and making it road legal, you guys are simply inspiring, anyone that has a dream run with it, ❤

We understand your frustrations with van build and trying to do the house up. We done the same end 2022-2023. It will be worth the effort in the end. It would be ashamed to sell the van once you put all the effort in to it. Go and enjoy it , we generally use caravan Motorhome club sites but you know what you’re getting with them. Hope to see a video soon.

I have invested in you now. Would sooner you both be happy. That was the whole point. I have often thought about a van but know that with the money it cost to buy build and up keep I could probably go away a weekend every month stay in a nice hotel in a nice car and not have to go toilet in a bucket. I will hang about and hopefully see how kitchen goes. It’s good to see that I am not the only one who plans everything and still does not work. @ we use Camplify. So far August was our first month and profitable other than the funds went straight back into mechanical problems.😢we used it for two months then Xmas nothing so far. We’re hoping things will improve now.
Guys, call me a soppy old bloke, but watching you two bring me the most guttural sense of happiness. Honestly. The way you two enjoy your company, work together with common goals, the drive to improve every possible way of your daily lives is inspiring. This is not the medium to reveal various issues I have faced last year, but let's just say that watching you two (and those reprobates from @HaughtAir who have also taken a sabbatical) is joyful beyond your imagination. It's now been 20 weeks since my wife of 38 years has been in a mental hospital with suspected early-onset dementia and I wish I had started a TH-cam channel back then to memorialise all the happy years we've had until this bastard condition robbed her from me. Keep doing what you do for yourselves, not for anyone else so you can look back at everything you have achieved down the line. You are not asking for advice, but I'm offering it to you anyway. Have you been to Ireland? They cater a bit better for vans than uk. We did the Wild Atlantic Way, and 3 years later ended up moving here. 😮 Lots of old cottages with land, much more affordable than land in UK. Potential next big renovation project!
I'm about to buy an ex DHL van on Wednesday!! Your videos have been a real good insight into the journey that lies ahead. Our plans would be slightly different to your van but I'm thinking that it may be a significant leap forward to start with one mostly completed! Any ideas on what you would ask for the van? Is there any way to dm you too discuss?! I also would be moving on from a really nice t4 which may suit your requirements more? I've never been stuck in field at least with it! 😅

Sometimes you just come across watchable folks... and I'm pointing my fingers at you guys..ha Always enjoyed watching you guys do stuff, the van, travels, other stuff I think, TH-cam is all about having that current, or that different edge. So, having something that people don't have, or doing something that people aren't etc, will always be engaging and people will find interesting. Ie; van build, travel etc, but there are many other examples (just look around on TH-cam ). I think without those, one might find it difficult to produce videos that might get watched. Personally, I did really enjoy watching the build, and looked forward to another" episode " each week, but, i have always said, and commented on other people's chanels that, they shouldn't be making "content" (hate that word now BTW! Haha), just for the sake of doing so. It can't be healthy for them, and it takes away from why we maybe started watching in the first place. Do whatever you feel, whenever you feel like it. Ultimately, you're doing it for yourselves.. so don't feel like you have to "answer " anything to anyone. One more thing, That being said, I would really really really suggest to you, that you did in fact get the van done , or to a certain , comfortable point, and then get your assets over to Ireland.. Take a week, ferry over to Dublin, and get over to the west coast, van life is real here. It's legal, it's encouraged. And the scenery is spectacular, truly. I get the point that having a van wouldn't be financially justified for you guys, but, if you missed out on a van trip of a lifetime, in a van you both made...... well. Maybe you will, Maybe you won't.. maybe you'll dance the funky chicken at your 75th wedding anniversary ( sorry, baz got me there). Either way, I'll always check out what you put up on TH-cam. I've sat at my keyboard for more than an hour trying to resist leaving my thoughts on your decision and potentially being viewed as negative. It would have been much easier to follow along with the majority of others commenting with 'good on ya' 'nice folks' I'll follow you anyway' etc........but I just can't. I'm so very sorry that you've thrown the Towel in. Maybe I'm in a very tiny minority that are prepared to be truthful with you (oh and for the record, you are nice guys). 👏 Great for being honest 👏 We thought about having a van, and in the end, we decided for us that it would be easier and cheaper just to book accommodation. Plus, loads less hassle. We do road trips around Europe, but in a sports car 😂. I know people who hire camper vans for holidays, which is always an option. Hey Charlie, thanks for sticking with us. How have you found renting it out, is it out all year or is there a lot of time you need to put into storage? We were wondering how profitable it could be.
@ we use Camplify. So far August was our first month and profitable other than the funds went straight back into mechanical problems.😢we used it for two months then Xmas nothing so far. We’re hoping things will improve now.

Guys, call me a soppy old bloke, but watching you two bring me the most guttural sense of happiness. Honestly. The way you two enjoy your company, work together with common goals, the drive to improve every possible way of your daily lives is inspiring. This is not the medium to reveal various issues I have faced last year, but let's just say that watching you two (and those reprobates from @HaughtAir who have also taken a sabbatical) is joyful beyond your imagination. It's now been 20 weeks since my wife of 38 years has been in a mental hospital with suspected early-onset dementia and I wish I had started a TH-cam channel back then to memorialise all the happy years we've had until this bastard condition robbed her from me. Keep doing what you do for yourselves, not for anyone else so you can look back at everything you have achieved down the line. You are not asking for advice, but I'm offering it to you anyway. Ah Wagner, you have been here from the start and never failed to comment, not even once. We had no idea you were going through such traumatic time, we both send you love and big hugs.
Life is an odd thing isn't it, it can be filled with joy but it can also provide so much darkness and sadness. Take it a day at a time, you will be in our thoughts.

Have you been to Ireland? They cater a bit better for vans than uk. We did the Wild Atlantic Way, and 3 years later ended up moving here. 😮 Lots of old cottages with land, much more affordable than land in UK. Potential next big renovation project!
I'm about to buy an ex DHL van on Wednesday!! Your videos have been a real good insight into the journey that lies ahead. Our plans would be slightly different to your van but I'm thinking that it may be a significant leap forward to start with one mostly completed! Any ideas on what you would ask for the van? Is there any way to dm you too discuss?! I also would be moving on from a really nice t4 which may suit your requirements more? I've never been stuck in field at least with it! 😅

I started doing my van after watching your videos, was wondering how you doing ( dont worry i didnt finish my biuld yet but did managed trip around europe (6000miles in june) and have to admit europe is much better for van travelling so maybe if you finish your van just try to use it before you sell it so you not regreting it... anyway good luck guys btw Norway is great for vans ;-)

That's the plan mate! It is very likely we will do it again at some point, but probably with a medium wheel base.

Sometimes you just come across watchable folks... and I'm pointing my fingers at you guys..ha
Always enjoyed watching you guys do stuff, the van, travels, other stuff
I think, TH-cam is all about having that current, or that different edge.
So, having something that people don't have, or doing something that people aren't etc, will always be engaging and people will find interesting.
Ie; van build, travel etc, but there are many other examples (just look around on TH-cam ).
I think without those, one might find it difficult to produce videos that might get watched.
Personally, I did really enjoy watching the build, and looked forward to another" episode " each week, but, i have always said, and commented on other people's chanels that, they shouldn't be making "content" (hate that word now BTW! Haha), just for the sake of doing so.
It can't be healthy for them, and it takes away from why we maybe started watching in the first place.
Do whatever you feel, whenever you feel like it.
Ultimately, you're doing it for yourselves.. so don't feel like you have to "answer " anything to anyone.
One more thing,
That being said, I would really really really suggest to you, that you did in fact get the van done , or to a certain , comfortable point, and then get your assets over to Ireland..
Take a week, ferry over to Dublin, and get over to the west coast, van life is real here. It's legal, it's encouraged. And the scenery is spectacular, truly.
I get the point that having a van wouldn't be financially justified for you guys, but, if you missed out on a van trip of a lifetime, in a van you both made...... well.
Maybe you will, Maybe you won't.. maybe you'll dance the funky chicken at your 75th wedding anniversary ( sorry, baz got me there).
Either way, I'll always check out what you put up on TH-cam.

Ah Jon, great to hear from you old friend! You have always been so supportive of us, your comment alone shows just how much you care and honestly, what a privilege that is for us. We really want to do Ireland, we have also looked at property there because it has so much more to offer than England - maybe one day!
We really are not trying to "crack" TH-cam, we mean it when we say we want these videos so we can watch back and laugh at them one day. We want the process to be fun, not a business. We honestly plan to do so much in the future I think it will be a hoot to record and just see how far we have come.

I've sat at my keyboard for more than an hour trying to resist leaving my thoughts on your decision and potentially being viewed as negative. It would have been much easier to follow along with the majority of others commenting with 'good on ya' 'nice folks' I'll follow you anyway' etc........but I just can't. I'm so very sorry that you've thrown the Towel in. Maybe I'm in a very tiny minority that are prepared to be truthful with you (oh and for the record, you are nice guys).
TH-cam and Van Builders/Lifers desperately need honest people like yourselves and channels like yours instead of all the fake BS that floods TH-cam community's. There are so many out there that desperately rely on gaining knowledge and motivation in it's rawest form.
Anyway, here's my 2p worth....
To summarise, you were tired and weary of the 'Rat Race'.....motivated and driven to change your lives for the better and now, you're settling for playing the 'Rat Race' game instead ? Or, did I miss something ? I think Sophie summed it up right at the end when she said that the thought of going back to work makes here want to cry !

haha wow thank you! We lost a chunk of subs today, but that is okay, all part of the process and we totally understand. They say on TH-cam you should focus on one niche, but we really are not in it for a business - just a nice back catalogue of our life journey to enjoy one day.

We thought about having a van, and in the end, we decided for us that it would be easier and cheaper just to book accommodation. Plus, loads less hassle.
We do road trips around Europe, but in a sports car 😂.
I know people who hire camper vans for holidays, which is always an option.
