Sweet! Here in Japan we happen to have a culture (though not popular) of doing something very similar, called 山岳サイクリング (literally, Mountain Cycling), practiced even before the arrival of US made ATBs...
nice pics. excellent ride. my first Ross Mt. Somethingorother had a shoulder strap up under the seat with two screw holes for replacement. very forward thinking, eh? that was back in '86. i wore the strap out. still have the frame in storage. long chainstay on that one.
Recently, a Montréal based bike company (Bassi) have been designing their frames with the same shoulder strap to help people carry their bike up the narrow stairs of Montréal appartements.
Always love a bit of scenery from your rides, Ron. Gotta give it up for those Suntour power thumb shifters, I dig mine. Others have commented on Ortho Bar slippage - I haven't had any trouble with mine... yet. Running a 26.0 Nitto Technomic. Did an overnighter with 5,300 feet of fire road climbing and descending a few weeks back. And I ride local trails. I'm no savage but still, no slips.
I did many hours of bike-a-hike (sic) yesterday. Instead of commiting and looking at is as a workout in nature, I angered myself and felt miserable. I failed to adhere to the advice 1:57 :( I have a lot to learn...
Only witches like riding on sticks but the most important thing is that you had no reason to curse, hex and execrate these toooo light parts. Such a nice video and its not the camera that makes an entertaining film. Das Alumalith is such a beautyful bike 🤩and for me simplicity makes things beautyful because its one of the most important design features. Liebe Grüße 🙋♀
Love it lots! But please mount a tail light when riding in the dark, so we can have many more video's! (Basically: stay safe for the sake of entertainment ;-) )
It is SO refreshing to see some riding a bike without wearing a dorky helmet or gay looking spandex and just wear normal clothing. Glad to know I'm not alone

The hike a bike is so under appreciated in modern mtb’ing or atb’ing
its official im bringing back the shoulder strap for those long bike hikes... nice vid
wishing I had them riveted into this frame --- maybe the next run!

I wondered what happened to ZZ top and to think they’re making bikes and tyres these days is amazing! 😂 Great video! Regards from Korea!
In Canada we call them Zed Zed Topp
Cool jumper. I prefer a big woolie pullie over Lycra any day. Glad you had a great ride in New England, Looks a lot like Old England.
Cozy Powell was a great drummer. Ronnie's vocals on this are awesome :-)
Best music of any cycling video Ever(all your videos). My neck hurts from rocking out👽
Very nice! Alumalith looks like a great bike

I laughed so hard at the “my hike was pretty light too, and I didn’t have to ride home in a stick”
Wish I could've seen those bars in action ... ALSO how many pairs of Vans do you own now ??? Rigid Enduro 4 Life. Miss y'all 4 Ever. Love from Poland
Classic Rainbow with Ronnie James, New England in the fall, Hike a bike. All the ingredients for a satisfying ride. Cheers.
Great video man. Keep the good work!!!

Those gold brake levers where the big take away for me! The shots showing them from behind the bars!
any recommendations for wool johnnys that can reasonably put up with rubbing against a leather saddle? happy pass hunting
What bike is cousin Sean riding? Looks cool.
This looks so fun 😍
Very inspiring, for sure!
Beautiful route
trail blazing beyond the confines of civilization
Great advice on trail etiquette with hikers and horses. Is that stick available on your website? 🤓
lol, working on drillium version of that stick!
AvE makes one in unobtanium for the ultralight snobs.
@@scottandlora4029 I could afford that. My finances are unobtainium also 😁

@ultraromance nice trekking. any tips aside from soda can shims to keep those power ratchets tight on the bar? mine be slippery.
thanks! hmmm, ive never had issues with mine slipping ... but yeah, the soda can is usually the trick in that instance
@@ultraromance thanks, figured out that they come apart fairly simply and dial'd em right in.. two separate tightening mechs..
The coolest cyclists in the known universe
What is your opinion about front suspension in a mtb for a hilly ride ?
What came first, the hike or the bike?

Any tips on how to wrap/attach that under-saddle bandana tool roll?
Tool, levers, tire. Wrap like a fat burrito.
Took me a minute to get the subliminal message about riding home on a "twig" be carrying a heavier bike but it's more of a tank when needed!
Perfect
55k ft of vert?
missed a decimal in there somewhere ------ classic me
@@ultraromance I would have left it as is.
