The 80s Panther chassis cars are great vehicles, and Nathan's wonderful example here is no exception! The coupes are not really rare yet, but they're certainly not common.
The Ford Panther is similar to the General Motors B-Body, but the Fords (Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Town Car) had EFI much, much earlier and retained the 5-mph bumpers late into the 80s when GM downgraded to 2.5mph bumpers early on. Both are excellent choices, and selection comes down to use and personal opinion.

I've always had a soft spot for these large coupe cars. Even the 4 doors were always nice to me. Not to mention that they are such relatively easy cars to work on.

Had this exact car and color! I sold mine at 18000 miles in 2004. My Mom bought as demo for her job as auditor.

I like your honesty, showing the little dents and bumps on the car, instead of mentioning only the good points :)

The problem with these vehicles...they were made during the "malaise era" of USA cars....meaning that the engines were choked with emissions problems, and the bhp was way down...power sucked badly!...it was the late 80s before the Big Three figured out better solutions to the power problem...the car pictured looks great, but has maybe 160hp at most--a far cry from Fords from the 60s and early 70s.

this car was worth the 5 thousand if not more. even with the medical suspension on my licence, id still buy it, let my father drive it around until I got things straightened out. not many of your cars would make me drool this one is on that short list. ABSOLUTELY amazing my friend. one day soon, will be calling you looking for something like this.

Nathan my friend normally id say the 5 digit display flipped. BUT as remarkeable as the interior and exterior is on this vehicle id be willing to certify this mileage as being true. this IS a garage queen, shes been well looked after. I wished people did this nowadays Eh?, even if it had 134k on it, it would show it if it were garage kept. this IS a 34k mile automobile. damn I wish it was still available, id been looking for one of these. love the v8 ford coupes and sedans. been a fan of these for ages. anyways my friend, keep up the good work. will have to check out the cereal marshmallows. I will eat those like its going out of style lol

This one is a 2-door coupe. This disappeared entirely with the new for 1988 front end look, which moved the Ford oval logo from the right of the grille to the center; the 1989 Ranger truck would follow suit.

Nice car, I hope that awful central fuel injection system has been addressed. Mine kept stalling at traffic lights in warm weather and it was apparently a problem that was fixed with the sequential injection system in 1986. Also, replacing the steering column with an '85 or newer Crown Vic gets rid of that unsafe horn control at the end of the turn signal lever and back on the steering wheel hub, where it belongs!

LOL, patina on the exhaust, that's like a 2 or 3 year old exhaust here in Michigan. I'd love to be able to afford to come out to Cali and buy me a summer car.

Are you talking about the 1990 560SEL black?
You don't have a 86 on the site only a 85 but I don't really like the 500 or 450. not enough power and the seats dont go all the way back like the 560 does lol.One of my favorite cars I've driven was a 86 560sel that had heated rear seats and the seats that go all the way back for the driver and front passenger. Then I drove a 450sel right after and it just felt different and the seats didnt go all the way back. Big problem for me since I'm 6'6. lol

Man, wish I could afford that. lol. Or shall I say, have the balls to buy one. :)
I pay 10 or 12k or whatever you're asking. I take it out for a drive that Sunday and some guy smashes into me and totals it and insurance gives me value which is like 2-3k TOPS. Not really a smart investment.

Lol yea I remember posting on this video when it first came out. Wow 3800, that's damn cheap for a car in this condition. Ugly color though. lol.
My car got hit infront of my house on the 4th of July 2011 so im still sketchy about paying a lot for a old car with little value. One of the reasons why I haven't purchased a really good condition w126 because they cost over 7k usually for a nice one.

Yeah but all of those minor flaws are in mint condition! Any small dings and little dents, no problem, easily buffed out.. no problem getting new pin stripes, ain't no problem with all of the little dingy's here and there and there and there and there, little chip and dingy there too, just a tiny bit here and there, little rust here and there, no problem, buff right out.. mint condition here..
