This is Gary at his soulful best. I was very lucky to see him play in a number of contexts including a small pub gig, a couple of medium sized club / theatre dates and once at a fair sized arena. He never gave less than 100% and his talent was mind-blowing. So sad that he left us so early.
We are so lucky to have so many recordings (DVDs, CDs and records) of his work, but so unlucky that he died so young.
This performance is truly one of the most emotional pieces of music I've ever heard.
No one can ever match the heart that this man had.
And... we can't forget the stellar performance Bob Daisley did on the bass.
Nobody makes the guitar cry and wail in a good way like Gary Moore, one of the best guys in the industry. 🙏

Sheer unadulterated genius! The lack of press coverage after his passing still amazes and saddens me. I scoured many papers to find no mention at all or only the most cursory comments whereas if it had been some more widely and publicly recognized guitar hero (names withheld on request) there would have been pages of dithyrambic articles exclaiming the end of an era.
I totally agree.I don't hate Prince but when he passed away , whole world went crazy.He has earned all that respect.He was amazing musician but it was so fucked up when actually nobody mentioned Gary after his passing.Every late night / tonight's show makes a tribute about any musican/actor , celebrity in general but nobody gave a fuck about Gary.That hurts , a lot.

I'm literally gob smacked to be honest. I too play guitar and knew his music very intimately. Hopefully you explore his discography and enjoy some great music you missed out on in the last 45 years.
He just somehow never got the acclaim or attention he deserved. Beautiful player in many styles, I hope you checked out plenty of his stuff since. ✌️

Still Gary's best solo I think... I saw him play in 87 in Birmingham around this time... he finished the set with the 'Loner' and I just wanted to sell all my guitars and amps and give up. Phenomenal player and always has been. RIP Gary.

Otherworldly. In reality....GM was one of the most under rated and yet at the same time one of the most refered to influences. Incredible. Simply one of the greatest rock guitarists ever. He was beyond style.....pure emotion....guys like Santan only wish they had that special something. GM had it. RIP
