🇸🇷 Food & The Single Guy - S.08.09 - Griti Bana Soepoe

On this episode: on the 155th. anniversary of the abolition of slavery in my country, I present to you a very popular soup from my native country, the Republic of Suriname! Grit' Ba'na Soepoe (pronounced: greet baana soopoo, translated: grated green plantain soup) is a soup that is made with grated green plantain dumplings, hence the name. A favorite of many and highly requested on my channel!
Ingredients:
- 2 liters of water
- tenderized salted beef
- chicken (seasoned a day in advance)
- 1 large onion
- chicken stock cubes
- pimento corns
- 2 bay leaves
- 2 green plantains
- 1 fresh cassava
- 1 egg
- salt
- pepper
- parsley
- 1 Adjoema (of Scotch Bonnet) pepper
- cooked rice
