i really want to give this ago.. im in Australia.. So im going to Bunnings and getting all the gear.. you have really inspired me to build a coffee table for my house
Hey hun. Beautiful table. I would like to do a project like yours, but I don't have the sort of tools/ machines you have. Are there places you could refer, that would size, prep, and sand the wood for me?? Thank you in advance ❤️
Nice table, the turquoise and copper look great together. Why do you top coat instead of just finishing it with Odie's, like the underside? Is it for the glassy look or something else? Thanks
Hey man! I’m looking to start making epoxy furniture, mainly tables. My biggest concern is safety. I’ve read horror stories about people getting crazy sick from excess epoxy exposure. I know that they say to not get any on your skin, to wear a respirator, and work in a well ventilated area. Would you mind expanding on that?
Hello! Our products have no VOCs (Volatile organic compounds), which means that they aren't releasing any harmful chemicals into the air. This means that you don’t have to wear a mask when working with Upstart Epoxy and it’s odor-free. However, this is subjective to how sensitive a person is. If you ever find the smell bothersome, please feel free to wear a mask. Still, the best practice is to work in a ventilated area. Thanks for watching!
great epoxy work. personally I dont like the legs. I have tried to avoid mixing two pours together, but most times the two mix together into one colour. any thoughts?
What is the curing time for a small table like the one in the video?? Thank you I'm just learning how to do this, and i want to be sure of what I'm doing. Thank you.
Hi Bennie! Most woods used in epoxy resin projects are locally harvested urban logs that were removed from homes, streets, or industrial areas needing space. Some of the slabs come from the own backyards of artists especially in clearing land for new buildings. You can also buy wood from manufacturers online.
Just that! Silicone mold for epoxy resin. You can find the one we offer here www.upstartepoxy.com/products/silicone-mold-18-x-12-x-2/?oid=11&affid=606&source_id=youtube More in the works!
Ensure that the liquid metallic paint is compatible with epoxy resin. Most acrylic-based metallic paints work well, but it's always a good idea to check the product information or conduct a small test batch first.
Question. Will epoxy dry/cure in cold temperature? I’m in northeast and garage doesn’t have heating.I can warm up the epoxy to the 75 Fahrenheit but then after does the atmosphere temperature need to be at 75 degrees also? Or could it be cold? Thanks if anyone can help
Hi Sandy! Yes, Deep Pour takes about 72 hours to cure depending on ambient temperature, humidity, and thickness and a week to reach full strength. Thank you very much for watching!!
I poured a half inch last night and waited it was tacky and then I poured 64 oz in 5X24in area and it smoked and became hade and I could not swirl. Should I only pour 32oz like the first pour? is that why i had a mess?
I noticed in the video that there were no safety measures taking, like a mask or gloves. I’ve heard of the vapors are toxic for epoxy. Can you please elaborate?

@@richardcoleman1018 Good point, Richard! They are both very good for different purposes. What is important to remember is that the Art Resin cures in 48 hours, whereas the Epoxy Resin has a shorter curing time of 24 hours. Both products cure a high-gloss, crystal clear, and durable finish, so you could essentially use either product for similar applications above. ^ 😊

Is the table saw using a special saw cutting thru both wood and epoxy, or is it just a regular wood saw

Hi Adi! It's for the glassy look! 🤙
Nice work
thanks!
When doing the flood coat do you just spread it and then use heat gun? How do you keep any uneven spots from forming on that flood coat
Love itb
well done. can I ask where you got the legs ordinary you make them?
We got them on our local hardware.
Beautiful stuff. I missed one part -you used a hardener for the flood coat? Did you also use a hardener as part of the epoxy mix?
I plan to make stuff like this soon. How much did it cost to make that table (which is seriously cool) and how much would you charge for that?

Hi, for a small table like this - I’d say 12-15 hours at max temp for the deep pour to cure. Thanks for watching!
Sorry forgot to ask what was the size of the oil jar you used at the end?
Thanks
I wish you could help me with my cafe coffe tables in Bangalore

Where can I get your measurements on the ratios of mixes? Beautiful work!
Hello! Here are the mix ratios of our products:
Epoxy Resin - 1:1
Deep Pour: 2:1
Art Resin: 1:1
We recommend mixing them by volume. Hope that helps!

This video got me thinking that I can actually do it, but then my brain is like you don’t have the tools lol, amazing project!
You can actually do this! This is perfect for beginners and instructions are pretty much very straightforward!
Stunning work mate!!! Does the deep pour take longer to cure? Gosh you make it look so easy ♥️

Epoxy or Paint Mixer
Heat gun
Circular saw
Belt sander
Planer
Chamfer router bit

Do you have to sand?
Yes!

Not helpful for new starter. Waiting times? Finishing oil? Is sanding necessary? etc.

Why is everyone using metal legs when making epoxy tables? What's wrong with wood?
There's nothing wrong with wood. We just want to go for a modern industrial look on this project, hence the metal legs. 😉
