Great job Richy! 😁 I'm so glad you showed the outcome of the hot glue part. It showed what you learned & why not to do it. I love that you made your own strop from things around the house. 😃 You really did a fantastic job with this Richy!
Valarie Connell /DrawingWithFire Thank you Val. I was kind of embarrassed because of that hot glue experience. But it shows what I've learned like you said and shows why not to do it that way. Thank you very much Val also for your opinion/help with this.
Thanks for the giggles! :o) I'm glad you found it somewhat humorous in the end. The superglue side reminds me of one of those shiatsu back massagers with the bumps under the cover that move. Great on your back -- not so good on a strop!!! :o)
Thank you Shirley. This was a fun project. I thought it would be better to include the whole process. Even the failure. Hehehehe. Have a great weekend.
I will try this out, thank you for sharing it...👍🏼 I’ve been using 400 grit sandpaper which cleans the tips very well but, I am shortening the tips life doing this.... Many I offer a tip...once the glued piece has been fitted, clamp between 2 flat bits of wood on either side and place weights on them, this will take the bumps out of the leather just like ironing clothes... Cheers 👍🏼😊
Marc’s Fx thank your so much. Will the hot glue "bend" with that trick? That's a good option. Yes, I've been using sandpaper also because I had regular Nickrome wire but I wouldn't advise that with already polished tips. And, as you say it will take down some of the tip with it. Thank you again. Cheers.
Richy Coelho if you do it quickly (a bench vice is the best way) the glue will sit flat beneath leather and wood....I have seen people use wood glue ( leaves no glue ripples)… the problem with hot glue is that it cures quickly and can’t be spread around the glue joint, if you make a smaller version you can spread the glue flatter...hope this helps 👍🏼
PyrographyME thank you Brenda. That's what I tought. If I have the video why not show it? It did go wrong but it's informative of what can happen if we do it this way.

It does help Marc. Thank you for this information.
Hi Richy,
thanks for the informative tutorial. I like that you shared the good and the bad. Now we know that a hot glue gun won't work. brenda
