I can’t believe how noisy this game is - did you used to own one? If so, were you ever allowed to actually play with it?! I can’t imagine it being very popular with anyone’s parents! 😂
I didn't have this one, however many of these games were popular when I was 12-14 and a speed swimmer. And pretty much every one of us had a game like this or two that we would swap amongst us. Football, baseball, hockey ... both single player and the "head to head" versions. I can't even fathom how many batteries we went through each weekend.

My older brother had this exact machine. We played the crap out of it. I own a 1980 Xenon Pinball I restored myself. I'm an arcade technician and arcade machine collector for the last 30 years
Wow, that’s awesome - restoring an original Bally is way more impressive than my little repair of this game, well done!👍 Would love the space for a collection of arcade machines - I grew up in arcades and spent far too much pocket money on Scramble, PacMan and Spy Hunter 😂

After opening, cleaning and checking I closed it again so I was wondering how to play without the flippers 😂 saw them again after closing.. so I laughed as I saw your flippers being in the wrong direction.. But after nearly 3 hours I am tired and the machine only makes a constant beep-sound without that motor-noise and action. I didn't know about that function until I watched your very good video.. 👍🏼 But for today it's enough for me. Maybe your technical knowledge is better than mine - is it possible to install a new motor here? Would be sad, not to get this old machine running.. but there is one difference between your and my flipper, my only needs 4 big batteries. But everything is the same. Happy new year!
It’s an easy mistake to get the flippers the wrong way! 😂 You can definitely fit a new motor and it isn’t that hard but these little motors tend to be quite reliable so it might just need a bit of help to get it started. If you look at the pinball machine as if you were going to play it, the motor is on the right-hand side under a plastic cover. I would try turning the end manually and see if that gets it started. If you have a multimeter, you could check if the battery power is actually getting to the motor (in case the switch is faulty or there is a break in connection somewhere). Again, if you are able, try connecting power directly to the motor to see if that starts it up. As for the different number of batteries, you have a slightly newer model and I have worked on one of these before - check out my other videos - but they are basically the same in terms of motor/gears etc. Good luck, hope you can get it fixed 👍

Really noisy! And yes, they went through batteries super-fast. In my latest video, I converted one to run on USB-C - no more batteries! (But still just as noisy!)
Damn. This brings back some old memories. I remember having a similar one to this. It was pretty neat. I dont remember it being as loud. I had a different version of this. It was made by Tomy. I think it used 3 D cells though. Very neat!
Tomy brought out a newer version of this game which was black and ran on 4 D cells. I’ve actually just purchased one which will be featuring in a future video - I have a little ‘upgrade’ planned for it… watch this space 👍
I had an improved version of this (Tomy Astro Shooter). I like how the whole thing is powered by a single motor, all compounds are linked together with rods and gears. The electronic board is just for sound.
Yes, I know the version you mean - was it just as noisy? 😂 These were really cool games for their time, even now I had some fun playing on it. Very cleverly designed with the single motor driving everything. And yes, the board is just for the sound 👍
