Agreed. I'm not even totally against the pairing of Harry and Ginny. If Ginny's character was developed better by Rowling, and her and Harry had more chemistry earlier in the books, then this pairing would be more plausible. I just don't like the way Harry suddenly decides he has a crush on her in the 6th book. At the end of the 5th book Ginny reveals she's dating Dean, yet Harry isn't even remotely jealous then. He still apparently misses Cho Chang at that moment.

And considering the love potion discussed in that book was amortentia, and that's the most powerful love potion, Ginny might have used a weaker love potion. I hadn't picked up on what was actually happening and I thought Draco had been commanded to kill Harry instead of Dumbledore, so I thought he was crying about Harry. I had not been a Drarry shipper in the least before that moment, but I read that as so, _so_ gay. Also, I absolutely read the Dumbledore/Grindelwald relationship as romantic and was not surprised either when 1. She announced Dumbledore was gay or 2. She announced they in fact had a romantic and sexual relationship. People have been so angry about that one and claim it's retcon, but I beg to differ, I saw it from the beginning.

I've always found Harry and Ginny's relationship to be very *meh*. People keep telling me that's because I didn't read the books- what if I told you that I in fact did? I remember at the beginning of the Half Blood Prince is when Harry first suddenly decided out of the blue that he had a crush on Ginny Weasley. And he only really noticed her because she was good at Quidditch like him. Also something about her having "nice skin and hair". I'm not gonna write a long essay but, think about Ron and Hermione's relationship- at least they actually had *chemistry*. At least they had enough interaction between each other to justify being paired together. Because even in the books, Harry for sure had more chemistry with Draco Malfoy- even if they didn't get along.

when i read the book(the draco crying over the bathroom sink scene) i have such a vivid and upsetting image in my head, i stopped reading the book and was very upset for i character i thought i hated. from that point draco was my fav character. then i rewatched the scene in the movie. they absolultely did not do it justice.

She grew out of her crush for Harry and no, they didn't feel romantic love for each other. Harry only thought he developed feelings because he mistook brotherly feelings for romantic ones. He had no family members to see the difference between romantic love and non-romantic love. His first family were the Weasleys and Ginny was the only one he saw as 'available' to marry. I just don't like the way Harry suddenly decides he has a crush on her in the 6th book. At the end of the 5th book Ginny reveals she's dating Dean, yet Harry isn't even remotely jealous then. He still apparently misses Cho Chang at that moment.
Spike 32 that is exactly how I feel about that because through the whole series in the movies the books were developed better but in the movies he just all of the sudden was in love with her and it made no sense because they were trying to get a relationship like James and lily potter with Ginny and Harry

Oh man, I remember when I first read that Draco crying scene. I hadn't picked up on what was actually happening and I thought Draco had been commanded to kill Harry instead of Dumbledore, so I thought he was crying about Harry. I had not been a Drarry shipper in the least before that moment, but I read that as so, _so_ gay.
Also, I absolutely read the Dumbledore/Grindelwald relationship as romantic and was not surprised either when 1. She announced Dumbledore was gay or 2. god ginny and harrys relationship was so forced its unreal. i love ginny as a character, i think shes a great gal and is a nice side character, but she was definitely not fit to be the main love interest. as much as i hate harry x hermione, even that wouldve made more sense tbh

I've always found Harry and Ginny's relationship to be very *meh*. People keep telling me that's because I didn't read the books- what if I told you that I in fact did? I remember at the beginning of the Half Blood Prince is when Harry first suddenly decided out of the blue that he had a crush on Ginny Weasley. And he only really noticed her because she was good at Quidditch like him. Also something about her having "nice skin and hair". I'm not gonna write a long essay but, think about Ron and Hermione's relationship- at least they actually had *chemistry*. At least they had enough interaction between each other to justify being paired together. Because even in the books, Harry for sure had more chemistry with Draco Malfoy- even if they didn't get along.
I'm not that much of a fan of Ginny X Harry but still i love them both, BUT ginny's character in the book was awesome,in the movie we didn't even see her that often and we didn't even get hinny moments often.. it just seemed un real,they didn't have that much chemistry together in the movies
draco was the best choice lmao but i think ginny's still good for being harry's love interest, especially in the sixth book. plus when they got married, the golden trio became all related

when i read the book(the draco crying over the bathroom sink scene) i have such a vivid and upsetting image in my head, i stopped reading the book and was very upset for i character i thought i hated. from that point draco was my fav character. then i rewatched the scene in the movie. they absolultely did not do it justice.

Despite surviving a war and I don't know perhaps becoming adults? You can't just skip 19 years forward especially after the books were about 8 years of Harry's life and expect everything to be the same. Think of who you were a year ago or eight. Were you the same person then? Were you the same person 19 years ago (If you were born)? I don't think so. It is completely unrealistic to say no one has changed and everyone marries their highschool sweet hearts. Also we see how Draco had some character development in book 7 and J.K Rowling throws it completely away. I am convinced Draco started to see the flaws in his parents and started to become more independantly. He started becoming a better person. (The scene were he acts like he doesn't recognise Harry for example) He wouldn't have married Astoria for his parents to be happy because he stopped worshipping his parents and realised they were in the wrong many times. And Harry? Harry who was forced to fight against a dark wizard since he was 11? Harry who had to live up to expectations since he was hit by a green light and survived? Harry who just wished for a peaceful year? Harry who just wanted to be himself and not the hero everyone thought he was? This Harry would want to become an auror and marry the person everyone expects him to? I don't think so. Maybe he would've started teaching or something else but he definitly wouldn't fight as a profession. And also Ginny I love her personality and therefore I know she would've become a famous quidditch player or something. She grew out of her crush for Harry and no, they didn't feel romantic love for each other. Harry only thought he developed feelings because he mistook brotherly feelings for romantic ones. He had no family members to see the difference between romantic love and non-romantic love. His first family were the Weasleys and Ginny was the only one he saw as 'available' to marry. Yes I think it's cute to imagine he married into his family but it is also kinda weird and for sure not romantic love

Despite currently having a very, very complicated relationship with this franchise, Harry and Draco were one of the reasons I was always pretty okay with being bi. As a chaotic bisexual kid, I read book 2 and thought it was very clever to see the parallel between Ginny's crush on Harry and Harry's crush on Draco. I honestly read all the books certain that Harry was canonically bi, even if I didn't ship him with anyone. It was a couple years ago, in my 20's, talking fandom stuff with a friend, that I realized this wasn't, in fact, a canon thing...
