I think it has partially to do with how Jesse was initially planned to be killed off in the first season, making the screen presence between the two feel more fleeting. Perhaps this to the show’s advantage in terms of narrative progression. What I found fascinating is how even the wardrobe choices in each episode for most characters darkens over time, the producers spent so much time establishing atmosphere.
Part of it was due to how the show started as a black comedy and the tone shifted over time. Even during some interviews, Vince said the idea came from him and a buddy talking about what they'd do if they found their life was cut short. Selling meth was their joke answer
@@ppmv4285 It's the same with BCS; the first idea was to do an episodic spin-off comedy, with some insights on the character sprinkled in between. The first season it's actually a lot like that, with each episode revealing a new problem for Jimmy to overcome in a funny way. It's almost like Vince always tries to do a comedy but ends up shifting to a dark drama.
Whenever I see Jesse and Walt fight from season 1 and season 2. It always makes me laugh. And its funny as hell and it always started with Jesse being dumb and making bad decisions. LOL 😂
If Jesse had followed Walt's very simple instruction, that disaster would never have happened. A comeback is meaningless if it's to defend an idiotic action.
@@maskedmarvyl4774True, as funny as it was it didn't make a ton of sense. Walt said get this type of plastic and Jesse didn't. Not really acting like a dictator in that scenario. Still hilarious though.
When Walt says, "Get off the toilet," it's a subtle nod to the fact that he wants Jesse to get off the toilet, so he can flush down the bag of meth. Absolutely brilliant writing!
There are some parts of this show that never get posted on TH-cam. Like one video for the longest time only showed Walt and Jesse fighting in the bathroom. Nothing beyond that. There was never a video showing the whole scene of Walts confession to Jesse and the DEA on the way to the desert. As a recovered meth addict (not bragging), this show's depiction of meth consumption was always laughable. The only character that ever sold it somewhat convincingly was Tuco.
To be fair, throughout the show, the actual dealings to end customers were always different. They had one group dealing it out one on one while walking down the street, one group using a kid to take the cash and a car to hold the drugs, one guy keeping his stash in a nearby garbage can, etc. And most of the last two seasons, there wasn't really much end user dealing on screen, save for maybe a couple montages. What Tuco did was just distribute the meth from his cooks to his dealers. He never really dealt with customers (except the ones that didn't pay).
@@amokriinprolgiid3409 I'm not talking about the distribution. I'm talking about Jesse actually smoking the meth at the beginning of the scene. He seems way too relaxed. Meth amps you up. If you're smoking meth you tend to do it in a very intense and hyperfocused manner.
