Greg and Marcia Brady offer to babysit their siblings after Mike and Carol get tickets to a hit play! #BradyBunch | Now streaming on Paramount+ Where to watch: para.mt/BradyBunch
Funny Mike and Carol was all hesitant about this. This was pretty common for families back in the day. I even remember in the early 90's when I was little my parents would leave us kids alone and my oldest siblings were 12 and 14 Lol
Carol: Mike, you don't wanna marry Sam. Mike: Well, you got me there. Heh! If Robert Reed's TRUE sexuality had been known at the time, the viewers wouldn't have been so sure. Reed covering up a lot of things about himself on this show to the viewers, the biggest coverup was his big smile covering up how miserable he actually was playing the part of Mike Brady.
@@kims1941 It wasn't about playing a dad, it was about playing a dad in a comedy show. Reed always said he was a serious actor not a comedian. He enjoyed playing characters in dramas. He took the role at the time because he needed the work and was told by Sherwood that there would be drama but Sherwood decided to stick to slapstick comedy which made Reed very miserable on the show. But Reed was under contract and he did enjoy being with the kids. Yes, it's true, Reed WAS married and had his own child, his daughter Karen but Reed and his wife divorced in the 50s. His ex-wife got remarried and moved far away with their daughter. Reed hardly got to see his daughter so he gave the 6 kids all the love that would've gone to her. Reed was gay(which is probably why he ended his marriage) but he wouldn't tell anyone. Florence Henderson and Barry Williams knew he was gay but they figured it out for themselves. They didn't tell him that they knew because they were afraid it would make him uncomfortable and more miserable than he already was. Reed was afraid if it got out, it would damage his career as gay people weren't as accepted back then as much as they are today.
Why is everyone wearing yellow? Don’t get me wrong, I like the color on clothing. Just an interesting costume choice to put three of four cast members in the scene all wearing the same color shirt when there’s nothing in the plot that called for it (unless there was somewhere else in this episode that’s not said in this clip).
$.75 an hour wow I think it’s $22 an hour now and I’ll tell you one thing when I was working at a restaurant back in 83 I made $3.23. I asked Aida👩🎤 McDonald’s they’re hiring for $18 an hour Dunkin’ Donuts 16 an hour wow things have changed.
@BessarionBlackrose-be3oh I have quite grown up, thanks. That's why I find Mike's attitude offensive. There's a power dynamic here, Carol is cognizant of Alice's worth and respects her. Mike does not. It's yucky.
@@doveandpatch One option would have been to ask Alice and Sam if they would switch nights, and pay for a nice restaurant dinner to sweeten the deal. (I would say gift card, but we didn’t have gift cards back then. I don’t think there were restaurant gift certificates yet, either). They could have additionally let Alice invite Sam to spend the evening there, and order pizza so Alice didn’t have to cook and it would be fun. They could have given her an extra night off, too. All that and a cherry on top. 🍒
“Mike, you don’t want to marry Sam.” Not so fast there, Carol!

In most big families you could babysit at 12 even at night.
I guess it was wrong for Carol to assume Mike didn't want to marry Sam.😂
I just burst out laughing reading this comment. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
75 cents an hour. Oh the good ole days
Absolutely the good old days
@@1burnman ,💯💯💯💯
Like $10 _hr now
Nobody I knew got paid for babysitting their siblings.
@vickiefinney6073 You shouldn’t be paid for babysitting your siblings
You gotta love the music score 😜wink wink. Wonk wonk ding 🛎️
Poor Greg...missing out on a teenage girl babysitter. LOL
Back when gasoline was 25 cents a gallon.
I love the Brady Buch so much ❤
I WAS BABYSITTING AT MARCIA'S AGE
Not only 75 cents each, but it is generally per child!! I'm sure "Jennifer Down the Street" would agree!!
It wasn't when I baby sat in the late 70's. It was $1 an hour, but I never had to sit more than 2 kids.
Jan must have had a nervous breakdown over this.
Nowadays people just let the baby babysit themselves

How bad could it be? He was actually married and had his own child.

@@alexanderpytko5394 interesting....thanks
@@alexanderpytko5394 and he is buried in a cemetery near me in Skokie IL. I have seen his head stone.
Always somebody feels the need to bring this up.

I was babysitting at 11
Of course they would they’re the oldest
75 cents an hour would have been a fortune to early 70s teens.
But they should have tried 75 per hour each, per child!
I thought maybe Greg would be put in charge of the boys, and Marcia in charge of the girls. The going rate was $.75 to $1 per hour.
Guess that they were worried about Cindy's sniffles turning into pneumonia
I had the sniffles most of my life, it's called allergies.
@@CathRas95 Mine are very bad right now
No baby sitter for Greg Marshia

Did Alice and Sam ever marry?
Jeez Mike, Alice is an employee not your slave 😮. Pretty horrid attitude toward her shown here.
Can you please stop the "offensive" nonsense please? Grow up.

@@genxx2724It’s a TV show. It’s not real. Relax.
Alright, forget it. Greg and Marcia are getting babysat!
First of all, I would tell Alice you can decorate tomorrow that’s a direct order and you know Sam wants more than decorating🥸🤪
