Wow, I am amazed at how you all do this. Great having a lot of hard-working friends ( and sure-footed too.) Lovely area you have!

Thanks Joe. I had three cameras going. I set up my Canon and Pixel phone on tripods or someone handhelds them for me. I also use a Go-Pro that I screwed to the truss. 😀

Why did you go with 24" OC truss spacing? Why not just have a truss on each post with long perlins between them?

      A couple reasons:
      1) I plan to finish the ceiling with drywall which requires 24" OC
      2) Using 8' spacing for trusses requires much beefier trusses which cost more and with the added cost of purlins on top, I didn't see a big cost advantage to doing it that way.
      3) honestly this is just the way I learned to do it and it's the way I see it done around my area. The only time you see the further spacing around here is on a large span uninsulated storage building.
I've watched some of Kyle's videos on R&R Buildings channel where he uses that system and it makes sense for the way they finish them in the inside. But for my smaller building I think the way I did it seems best for my needs. I really appreciate the question. Thanks for watching.

Awesome video series a micro filter or wireless mic would make sound quality lot better. Lot of wind noise and ups and downs

    Do you get any snow?
Just wondering, we can get 3 feet of it, so doubt of 2'x4'

I live in Michigan so we can get some heavy snow loads at times. This is a standard truss for this area and designed for 20 lbs SQ ft of snow loads which equates to about 4' snow. Areas in the UP, Buffalo, and Minnesota and the like might need something more heavy duty, but the truss suppliers in the area know what design is necessary.

Ten feet to the top of the header.
