That am pm boss was a contender. I can tell you in all sincerity I don't remember that truck as a kid. I'm glad this footage is available. The new monster jam just ain't got it
@@Mistertbones I have a question sir. What ever happened to awesome Kong 2? The huge red 1980-86 body style Ford with flare side bed. The engine in that thing had to be worth a mint and if the truck wasn't so hard to drive it might have been a more legit competition. Dude that thing bounced to much. Thanks take care
@@capri8225 it was stretched to a long wheelbase, and still had the Allison aircraft engine. Then as I recall, that chassis was scrapped to build a newer, lighter frame, the narrow Chevy body and big block Chevy engine, then related and rebodied to a standard with Chevy body. That particular chassis may have also been scrapped as far as I remember when Jeff Dane got out of the sport.
A.M. P.M. Boss made some good runs right there, n great air for those days, love that truck! "Reckless Rex" almost died on that landing!..Damn, so much was right on the edge back in those days.. Spectators right on the ground floor with trucks blasting right past them in alot of areas back then..I've seen a mud bog truck go up and INTO the first 3 rows of spectators when the safety cable snapped during a mud run on a video called "Shake Rattle and Roll"..
The infincency of the sport is epic. Saw a few shoes in the Tacoma Dome and Kingdome around those times.! No cinderblock guardrails and the camera guys in the track.
I wonder why most of the pulling trucks used aftermarket powerplants.. The original blocks can't endure that kind of power? Or there is another reason? Those old school monster trucks are always a pleasure to watch. Loved MUDSTANG.. Wow. The biker almost died that night, that really was a close call.
Dude, you are absolutely f***ing KILLING it lately! Thank you!

Couldn't agree more.

@@adamtereska8734 I'm pretty sure TNT banned the V-12 for competition so Dane had to use more conventional engines in his trucks.
80s had the best monster trucks.

infincency ???
Thanks for posting this
Thank you!!!
This announcer said “look out” more than Ronnie James Dio
Bigfoot was and still is the king of the monster trucks
Agreed
Normally I wouldn’t want to see any commercials, but in this case I was a little disappointed that they were skipped.
44:10 dayum the boss has wings
That poor dude destroyed his leg
43:07 Jim might have been alil wild 😜
Wish Samson was geared up different. Such a pretty truck but it was definitely the glass Joe of this sport in regards of competition.
Don maples built it as a show truck but had a marine Chevy with nitrous he gave it everything that red paint job n tilt

That's probably the reason.
24:03 is that Dan Patrick that drives Samson or is it a different Dan Patrick
The one and the same Dan Patrick who later drove Samson.
@@Mistertbones really that’s awesome 😯 thanks for telling me
@@Mistertbones So Don Maples had sold Samson to Seth Dalton and Golden State Promotions at this time?
Not yet.@@bustyrandit
39:25 thank ya Mr bones
14:57 Wait, was Natural High a mud truck or a monster truck?
Neither, this one is a pulling truck.
I would have to assume it has nothing to do with the child slaying machine of the same name
Wild Hare, called a 1968 Dodge, but is more like a 1978 Dodge truck.
46:18 vs 43:07
