@@CreedeProductions The difference is the Argentine national team is made up of players of primarily Italian and Spanish immigrant backgrounds. Which is reflective of most of the Argentine population having Italian and Spanish backgrounds. The difference with the French team is they do not remotely reflect the population of France at all. 95% of the French population is White yet you’d never know that by watching their national team play. Only 3% of the French population is Black but they make up 90-95% of the national team. The Argentine players were bantering about the French team depending on Black players from their former colonies in Africa to actually compete and be competitive. Their banter is not unique to them at all. Africans are constantly bantering about the French team being an African team all the time. Go to a pick-up game with African guys and you’ll hear that type of talk commonly. Just like how the English and their media have mocked Irish national team sides for decades for being teams full of “Plastic Paddies.” People are conflating racism with banter. And the song in question has been around for years. Something the media don’t realize because most of the media reporting this story don’t even speak Spanish.

Few things, mentioning countries from Africa is not necessarily being racist. What I understand from that crowd song is that it is making fan of the lack of local talents. Germans were singing a song in 2014 making fun of gauchos, that was racist as relates to a race, not to Argentina as a country, and I didn’t see the hypocrites horrorized like now. Or how about Dembele and Griesman case? if you want to know what is being racist that’s a clear example. Griezmann has German and Portuguese ancestory, but not included in any chants. Theo Hernandez has Spanish ancestry, but not part of any chants. Cause they are white. Infact all the Argentnian players basically have Italian and Spanish ancestry with some players having local admixture. Most of their players could have chose to play for Italy or Spain. Im pretty sure if the French squad was made up of 90% Spanish or Portuguese players, similar comments would be made about how the French depend on foreign players for footballing success.
Also, The reason players like Griezmann and Theo Hernandez weren’t mentioned in the topic is because they are a minority in the squad. It is not uncommon to find few foreign players representing countries in which they didn’t originate from. Thats why you don’t see this song referring to other European counties who have black foreign players in their squad. It’s because its common and not unusual thing in the world. However , it is unusual though to have a squad that is 90% African representing a European nation that has 90% white french. Not that there is something wrong with it. lt just that its prone for people to point it out for any reason. Thats why its important to know the contexts before jumping into conclusions.

The whole idea being they are relying on players who are only viewed as French if they win and are treated as foreign even within France by the overwhelmingly White French population. In the 19th century, African descendants were about 30% of Buenos Aires's population. Imagine a city like Buenos Aires, with its strong Italian and Spanish culture, being home to this many African descendants today. Where did they all go? They didn't just vanish into thin air. They disappeared for several reasons, but largely because Argentina wanted to build a country that was European in looks and character in the twentieth century. Another reason that buildng that team around Zidane being Algerian led to one of most amazing teams Ive seen and resilent because they had so much character. It's worth noting that 90% of the white players on the team have families that are not originally from France. This is deeply racist. The level of hate required to sing such a song, especially after winning a competition in which those players were not even involved, is alarming. If a fan says something like that they get banned from the stadium for life. When Enzo does it he says sorry and throws some money at the problem and all is forgiven. Clubs don't care about this stuff, they just pretend to.

The rebuttal that I keep hearing is that France is a colonialist country. Anyone offering this assertion should remember that Argentina had a strong West African presence in past centuries. In the 18th century, some Argentinian cities were more than 50% African. By the 19th century, the West African descendants in Buenos Aires were about 30%. The reason that Argentina is so European today is because of policies that promoted European immigration, such as from countries like Italy and Spain, at the expense of West African development across its provinces. I'd almost forgotten that in 1997, Former Argentine President Carlos Menem once stated, “In Argentina, Blacks do not exist; that is a Brazilian problem.” All of a sudden, the players' chants make sense!

That song is pure racism. All the French were born in France except Camavinga. Saying they aren't French is making a judgement value based on their skin color alone and ignores everything else about them. It was deeply offensive to the players. You gonna say Dream Team players aren't American too?? Try that. See what happens.

Look at this ignorant Nigerian. The British colonized Nigeria, just now, less than 200 years ago. Just around 4 generations, around his grandmothers parents ago. The British exploited their economy and infrastructure under the banner of racism. The export of oil which the British established with no interest for the native blacks, is still dominant today, it makes up a big share their governments revenue. His country is in drenched poverty, inflation and economic inequality from colonialism driven by racism. Every where you look in Britain, trying to kick out the the Nigerians and limit their rights but discrimination is too overrated for him lol

    I hear some ridiculous comments.
Do you know how much this persons value has depreciated?
So Chelsea have written off about £60 million for Lukaku and another £65 million for Fernandez.
Chelsea are not in the Champions League anymore and cannot afford to sell him.
At this moment, no one is paying more than £40 million for him.
Would you sell your home for 35% of it'd original value?
The only clubs who might be interested in Fernandez are Atletico and Juve, maybe Napoli. None of those clubs are spending big anymore
