I love this song! I learnt it from my Irish Granny before I went to school, played it on the bagpipes when I was at school, and subsequently sang it to my wife when she was dying of brain cancer.

Popular at that time from the Irish tenor who sang it on a black and white film in the '30s.

Hi Kiki! Mary O'Hara is a wonderful Irish singer to listen to. She has a few CDs available. I think she was excellent at arranging harp accompaniments that are effecting without being too difficult - similar to you!!

@@LearningtheHarp Amazing! So lucky. I got to see her in concert in the early 90s and because it was my favourite song I had wrote to her beforehand and she sang A friend of mine and dedicated it to me.
Ah that’s such a special memory!! I didn’t ever see her perform live, but I had tea with her and her husband which was special.
