@reverserockettv007 Probably not worth to visit. Maybe a cut off car part or any kind of red rubbish. But it is showing the way they handle things here.
They flipped way too easily, and way too often. Insurance companies quickly totaled them out, becoming $200-300 wreck purchases with 20,000 miles for used car dealers and body shops selling occasional cars on the side during slow season. So, cutting off old roof and welding on a new one created a lucrative "clean used car sale" when a good donor car was available. When a good cheap donor car was not found, it was a stretch to find one. It may have been sold at the closest big city, for top dollar and fast financing. Unlikely to be sold out in the remote areas, though fixed up nearby there. Loanability limits the used car window to no more than 2 years old where resale is high enough that a bank would loan money out for new customer. Would not be surprised if Mustang was done by same thief. Same parts removed, similar vintage, and dumped in similar locale.
thats a rare VW type 3 fast back with top cut off just found photo think it dates to the early 1970s great find not seen one before looks a lovely car to 🙂
I would be willing to bet those cars could be still solid after 30 or 40 years from now due to how little corrosion takes place out there let's see if they don't get buried over. But I guess it would make an interesting fun for an archaeologist one day probably over 100 years from now if the cars did get buried over. But great video always enjoy the documentation that you give in your videos and the sites that you explore keep up the great work and stay safe.
Toyota Tundra Comment: I have two 03 Tundras , 21 years later SR·5 TRD w/130 K and my limited 70K. . First Generation Tundra are the best. I wish I could find a supercharger for my SR·5.
Do You Remember Chevy's Version of VW air cold engines ? Some people will remember the Corvair, but who remember the VW Micro Bus Chevy version; Corvair Greenbrier van. or Chevrolet Corvair 95 Rampside Pickup. This is landscaper dream truck , the Rampside had a door on the side of the truck bed that could be used as a ramp.
@reverserockettv007 Yes also the white (pick-up?) has an interesting shape. The car showing bottom side is older, I think. There is a hiking path below. The top entrance looks very steep to me. But if you look at the Google 360 pictures it seems rather hiking friendly and beautifully orange flowers. On that 360 picture, I spotted an other car on the other side of the canyon. People can walk to it. 33°44'08"N 117°23'48"W
First one obviously a Beetle but without front fenders, VIN, most suspension parts and rear quarters, I can't ID the year -- these cars were cookie cutter production vehicles for 25 years. The other is a Type III VW. Seats have headrest loops so it's a 1969 - 1973 production year.
Ich mag es, abgestürzte oder vermisste Autos in den Bergen oder in der Wüste zu finden. Wenn es dir nicht gefällt, meine Videos anzusehen, schau sie dir bitte nicht an
Welcome back Mario! 😊 Glad to see your adventures, and explorations again! 👌👍 Remember, as you may know, to be careful and take care of yourself on your adventures. Especially in the heat 🥵
Like the others said, a later Beetle because of the front fuel filler. It's fairly late I would gather as it has shoulder belts (or what's left of them). As others noted, probably joyridden or stolen years ago and pushed over the cliff to hide the crime or for "sport". Maybe they took bets on how far it would land.
@trappedinkalifornee Probably you are right. I don't know such a detail. I looked it up, and I remember this car from when I was very young. There were not many, and it looked kind of French. One of the less good-looking, older VW in my opinion.
'66 VW fastback or rare German bubble top coupe, not readily imported into U.S. The boulder placed on floor so stolen stripped vehicle could have sufficient weight to pick up speed rolling down mountain. VW bug shell may have been tied on top of it, explaining why it landed beside it. Prolific car thief would be working within 5 miles of that location, circa 1969-1971, probably deceased.
Great video I luv the area there !....Try Cologaurd its non invasive use Test kit at home & send it in for Testing better than getting a Colonoscopy just me . Ask your Doctor about it.
About the sled idea to help you, I talked to Dicks Sporting Goods and showed them your videos. They said they can help you ascend and decend with a sled. Its common to do. It will help you get down faster to look for more with the time you have. Just a suggestion. Great content. I subbed.
Looks like another good spot to dump stolen stripped cars !! Cool drone shots , stay cool Mario 👍🇺🇲
Thanks!
Sorry I haven't been watching videos of yours I've been a lot busier than I used to be have a great weekend 😊

VW Type 3 fastback with the roof removed. Why? Anyone's guess.

stolen car, someone used all the parts for their own project, it happens all the time
I think it's a Type 3 Fast back.
I think you nailed it.
Yes you did. I had a square back. Fastbacks were really rare cars. 👍
Not a fastback, look at the dash
Brought mack many memories for many reasons.
Wow 🤩 I like the end good view and another great video 😊 can’t wait for the next one

VW Fastback type 3, and the VW bug must be a 68 or later from the side fuel cap
I would be willing to bet those cars could be still solid after 30 or 40 years from now due to how little corrosion takes place out there let's see if they don't get buried over.

Looking at the wear on the tire, I think he needs to align his Beetle.
😂😂
Bug And a Fast Back, you can see he air holes from the side.
I couldn’t remember the name when I was there.
Volkswagen Fastback. The hole in the rear is the oil fill
I thought it was for fuel??
@@reverserockettv007I could see that, but the cap is also a dipstick. Had one. No worries though

The Beatle is recognizable at once. But to find this one in the first place is hard just randomly in the field.

Cool I will save these in my notes!
area looks familiar but cant put my finger on it right now....late beetle and cool fast back
You should collect license plates. Check bumpers.
The other one looks like a fastback vw
Is that Lake Elsinore?
Lake Matthews.

There are a few more cars dumped in the same area just south west of this location
Yea I didn’t have time to go looking for them. I have a couple more pinned on my gps. Thanks for the heads up!
fast back
The bug looks like '68 and later. The other one looks like a fastback. By the way, all aircooled VWs are rear engine, front fuel tanks.
You misted a plate on the hight 74 Jag video
I’ve no idea where you are but if it’s Death Valley Charles Manson & family used to dump VW’s out there.
Gas on the fender. 70’s
67 fastback vw
I would say the other ones a Volkswagen Carmen Gea but that’s not the body shape. I would say more of a Volkswagen golf type vehicle.
VW Type 3 maybe?
@@taunovalo2964 you’re right it’s a 1965 Volkswagen type three
Type 3 not a Karmann Ghia

it's a newer Bug because the gas filler is on the outside !
Volkswagen square back

1968 and later Type 1
The blue vw is a type 3
With the prices of scrap metal surprised they don't go around & collect these cars to make shells
1970 Volkswagen Type 3 Squareback
Wrong….its a fastback and that is where you check the oil

Volkswagen escarabajo
Volkswagen variant
