- If one could assign ownership for ragas then surely Pt Mallikarjun Mansur would be the undisputed owner of Bhairav. No one comes even close when it comes to putting a soul into this pristine melody the way he did. There are plenty of his renderings of Bhairav on youtube. What makes this unusual is his choice of bandish. He sings aeri maayi main apane Shiva payo, traditionally associated with Kabiri Bhairav. It is incomplete, hopefully we have not missed much.
Just heard this and a brillant Bhairab by Mansurji posted by the great Subrata Choudhury. Positively searing in its feeling of bairagya and tyag. I hope listeners have also heard his Shivmat Bhairav with the unusual bandish 'Pratham Allah', the first and only such reference I have heard in a classical khayal (or dhrupad) composition. I carried it on a trip to Kailash-Manasarovar in 1994. Matched the experience every bit. A must to dissolve all dualities.
wah....masterpiece...deep......www he is mallikarjun mansur......pride of karnataka.....he should have given "Bharata Ratna" ......
Mesmerizing... Such a spiritual feeling... Koti pranam to Pandit ji.

Incredible! So soothing and deep!
Magical ಅಂದರೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಉತ್ಕೃಷ್ಟ ವಾದದ್ದು.
Please may I know where and when this concert was recorded and also please may I know who is accompanying on tabla? 🙏
The tabla player in the photo is Ustad Faiyaz khan but the way it is being played is not his style. Here it is more like Pt. Balakrishna Iyer
Magistral !
Aprathim 👌👌🙏🙏🙏
Please share vachanas and Dhasara padha of Mallikarjuna mansooru and Sidharama jambaldhinni and panchakshari swamy Mathigatti please
At first it looks like Raga Kabiri Bhairav, but on listening carefully, you can make out subtle differences.I may still be wrong here..this could be Kabiri Bhairav
Read the introduction. It is Bhairav, with the traditional Kabiri bandish.
Yes, it is bhairav with kabiri bandish.
