The bass clarinet is not scored in The Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. It’s just for two clarinets: one in B flat and the other in A.

It was from Tchaikovsky's ballet called The Nutcarcker, and it is called the Dance of the Mirlitons. Mirlitons is another name for flutes :-) Hope that helps, and that you find the piece - its' one of my favourites!

Woodwind instruments make sound when air blown into them vibrates. The woodwind instruments and there are more than 12 types of clarinet,though not all are still in use.
