  • Christine Marie whose name is appended with “Madame Royal” could be the royal link Brooke has been hoping to find. A family tree at Ancestry indicates she was born in The Louvre, and a discussion with a genealogist helps Brooke better understand her connection to French royal lines.

    I am a descendant of Anne Convent from France 🇫🇷 in the 1600’s. I wish someone could help me with her roots. I too would love to travel to France and visit the kings courts…Thank you for sharing. ❤

      Yes, Royals most often married other royals. European royalty is totally connected. One big interwoven gene pool.

    We all have royalty in our family tree if you go back far enough

    One thing I discovered while doing my family tree is that for every generation you go back in your tree your list of grandparents doubles, you start out with 4 grandparents, then in the next generation you have 8 grandparents, next would be 16, then 32, then 64, then 128, and so on, however as you double each generation you need to add into your final total all of the other generations. You can keep adding your generations, I stopped at just over 4 billion, I think that was 30 or 35 generations. We are all related to other relatives, mathematically its inconceivable... Good luck
    Also, I recieved an email telling me that Brooke Shields is in my family tree, so is Meghan Markle through her father, I am Scottish, French, Italian, etc...

      You need to look up a genealogical concept called "pedigree collapse". There haven't been 4 billion people to have lived on earth prior to present day...so a great many of those ancestors are duplicates. If you look, you should find them within 9 generations of your own tree. My great-grandmother's parents are first cousins...so from that point backwards, my ancestors in those lines are the same.

      @@joannathesinger770 , Interesting. Most of us rarely have 4 generations alive at any one time, so 30 to 35 generations could easily span 2,000 years. You can do the math, just sit down with your calculator, start with 2 X 4 = 8, and so on. At 20 generations you have 4,194,304 just for that particular generation. Add another 10 generations 4,294,967,296.
      I did not take into consideration how many cousins married each other, that is just wrong.

      @joannathesinger770 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@maybee... You might think it's "wrong" but it's happened since time immemorial. There ARE laws nowadays against 1st cousins marrying, but those are relatively new.
      I also found a 7th great-grandmother in one line...and she was a 9th great-grandmother via a different child in another.

    I know if you go back far enough in Europe, being descended from a royal of some sort would not be too uncommon. Regardless that would be a nice family tree to have framed.
