if you wanna achieve maximum performance from custom mapping, go for high lift camshaft, race tuned valve & race tuned piston.. Also irridium spark plug, free flow full system exhaust & free flow air filter are required.. Then you can get 55 BHP & 209 kmph of top speed.. Currently my 390 is producing 52.2ps & can go upto 201kmph.. You'll need good dyno tuning to have the fastest 390.. Note: Only adding Powertronic Piggybag ECU will increase the power by 3-4hp.
A proper dyno tune is the most necessary thing to do first to a bike especially KTM's. They run too lean. Just do a proper dyno tune, tune the AFR, unlock the secondary throttle valves and your bike will feel like a new bike altogether. The main problem with power commanders and fuelX autotuners are they can't unlock the secondary throttle openings. Which for those of you who don't know means that for eg at 3000 rpm if you give full throttle, the second throttle body in the engine won't open to even nearly 100%. It will be usually set to around 30% for emissions purposes. Just getting rid of these restrictions will make the bike get much smoother and responsive. You won't gain much more peak hp by doing this but the power will be delivered much better than before and earlier as well. And you will definitely wish you had it done earlier lol. Even if it's a 1000cc or a 390cc.
@@phuohoang3859 Now I'm not sure if there are secondary throttle valves in KTM 390's. But they do come with ride by wire so even if you twist the throttle 100% it won't really open up 100%. So an ECU flash should sort that out. Easiest way and cheapest way and best way will all be flashing your ECU.
Hi, Suraj. I really appreciate your efforts in doing all of the modification. But I have few doubts which I think you should add in your videos. 1. Should mention the torque i.e 7 Nm for tightening the Quickshifter, else it will break. 2. Should put caution mark while increasing the RPM limiter more than stock, as by doing it will educate some blind followers about the future damages might comes to the engine. 3. If possible try to prove by increasing the RPM limiter , how much Hp will it gain at what RPM or Hp is just going to down even after ~10.5 K rpm and we will be just stressing the engine out. 4. You have already did the Dyno run, make sure you get it done for this one,.. content for sure. 5. Should clear the doubt about major significance of powertronic unit on performance, i.e it reduces the time to reach top speed rather than increasing the top speed (without changing in gearing). Because many people think powertronic increases the top speed of the bike, which I don't think it does , as most of the people will be increasing the rpm limiter to stress the engine more, as I mentioned in point 3, if you can prove it. Then it can be called as an advantage for increase in top speed at the cost of engine's life.
The main benefit of stretching out the rpm limit is not to improve peak hp. It won't make more hp without further mods. With the standard rev limiter, just after the peak power rpm, after maybe 500-700 rpms more it will hit the limiter so if you're in the peak power in mid corner, you can hit the rev limiter and youll be forced to upshift mid corner which is not preferred. with higher limit, that upshift can be postponed for a couple seconds when necessary which can be very beneficial when you're in the middle of a corner. Also with the standard ecu setup without a remap or Power Commander, once you upshift after the peak power or around the limiter to the next gear and the RPM falls - 1500, it will land less than 9000 rpms where the engine makes less power. whereas with an extended rpm limit, you can look for an optimum range of shifting from the dyno power charts and you're free to select an rpm where it lands right at the beginning of the peak power band and you can accelerate much better and upshift right at the end of the power band. So if you want, you can stay in the peak power band all the time. Whereas in stock you'll be forced to get out of the peak power band by a little margin. Of course this depends on the bike and its engine characters. Also if you do a Power Commander, just putting on a map from them is not worth it. Save a bit more get a dyno tune as well along with the commander. Many official maps even ones specific to an exhaust you're using can turn out to be quite lean which can cause very poor throttle control, lower rpm knocking, power loss, excess heat and also damage to engine if tooo lean.
Thats what i was thinking..quickshifter is mechanical process right? The clutch and transmission is made according to it and tuned..but i dnt think it will run on this ktm
Quick shifter isn't very complicated technology, the sensor just detects movement on the gear lever and cutsoff the throttle for a fraction of a second so that you can click a gear without having to pull your clutch or release throttle. You can do clutch less shifts manually without a quickshifter too but for that you need to learn how to release your throttle and click gear lever at the same time very quickly.

quick shifter works when there is a small cut in the engine so its not mechanical but related to engine software
