So what I'm getting from this is that Kanye is a furry.
10 years later and “Runaway” is still my favorite Kanye song. It’s the only time I’ve never gotten the sense from him that he not only recognizes how unstable he is, but the weight of the guilt knowing how much of an a-hole he is to the people that love him. There’s something weirdly endearing about it, even knowing how bad things have gotten since 2016.
You haven't heard a lot of his newer music then, because in his past couple albums that's been a recurring theme.
Oh, I was relieved that Rap Critic brought up thing that made Todd change his mind. I was really worried he wouldn't review thing Rap Critic wanted to review.
Oh god, I was cracking up so hard I couldn't breathe at that part where Todd says the label had nothing to do with it, had no clue how he paid for it or why.
The auto-tune solo on runaway is of the most amazing parts of the album.

Renaissance royalty, i.e. the court of Henry VIII, used to be served entire swans, peacocks etc. They would remove the skin and feathers, prepare the meat (often with elaborate stuffings) and then reassemble it to look like the original live animal for table presentation.
Not sure if Kanye knew all that but the unscorched feathers and head don’t necessarily mean the bird wasn’t cooked.
All Of The Lights, even with the ridiculously off topic lyrics, is probably the best song Kanye has ever composed. why he seems to love Runaweay so much is a complete mystery to me
the only part that is off topic about all of the lights is the Fergie "verse". the rest fits perfectly

I guess Kanye was trying to make his own Moonwalker (i.e. the reference to MJ)??? Though to be fair, Moonwalker also had a very loosely related plot/cohesion to the videos featured on it. But................Moonwalker was actually GOOD (read:AWESOME) and also gave us Smooth Criminal, while Kanye gave us a turkey. Yeah, sorry but this was just not a very good music video movie thingy (or whatever you were going for), Kanye.

Quite a bit, seeing as this video doesn't follow the rules for phoenixes.
I like both these critic a lot but I feel somewhat insulted that they consider runaway (easily the centerpiece of the album) a quiet weird little song. I also don't get the sense that either of them have really listened to the album.
With the line about Family Matters and his past references to Martin as well as the All the Lights I think it's safe to assume Kanye learned to rap from a word of the day calender and nineties television.

I was almost offended that he was insinuating that all skinheads are racist when he wrote "Black Skinhead". I wish he was clever enough for that to not be an *accidental* genius social commentary.

I feel bad for the actress playing the alien phoenix/bird lady because what ever they paid her to star in this was most likely not enough. this dude make me want to watch twilight. At least twilight is something I can laugh at and actually explains somethings even if they're stupid.

I'm a film major so forgive me if I'm being nitpicky here. All the different elements of a picture (the script, the acting, the score, the cinematography, etc.) should all add up to one goal. This makes me wonder about Kanye's directorial style and why he chose such a weird color scheme for his movie. It looks like a weird Instagram filter. Did he really think that his vision wouldn't be complete unless he tinted the whole thing purple?
You're a film major, Kanye is a self absorbed hack. I highly doubt he thought about things like that

djcreeps121 A 4-way crossover with them and NChick (well, while she's still the nchick) would be awesome, but somehow I think that's too many reviewers. They all have the same dry sense of humor and focus on social/political issues, though, and so I think they mesh well..
I've never watched a nostalgia chick episode. Nothing against her or anything i just havent really seen anything interesting from her and when she features with other reviewers i dont see her as funny. Probably just me and i might give her a chance someday

This was basically the turning point for Kanye’s career, went from jackass to fairly respected as a musician/producer by critics.
I honestly don’t know what happened in mid 2010, the whole rap is crap heavy critic thing got really really stale.
I thought those bass sounds that played when they put the turkey on the table were added in for comedic effect.
The only thing I came close to liking was the Phoenix's costume. Until she spread her wings. The seemed kinda flimsy when she did so. Other than that I thought her costume was cool. Everything else was just...weird and incoherent and inconsistent

Never seen the movie but as much as I love this album I bet I can make a better movie than Kanye. I mean the album I'm pretty sure is about Kanye and his rise and fall. Why try to make something as "artsy" or "abstract" when you can just easily glorify yourself the whole album. Better yet, Why make a movie about the album. Make the album speak for itself, have the listeners visualize everything themselves.
