Stunning. His only mistske was trusting the audience to know the words to the verses 😂
Lol yeah
The audience doesn't speak english so that's kinda normal 😅
I'm pretty sure he can see clearly now. The audience were the obstacles in his way all along.
@@DrZaius3141 His goal is harmony, or to say anybody can make beautiful music so he needs to overcome it.
Isn’t this from his performance in Russia?? Pretty a lot of the audience doesn’t speak English
Lets take the time to acknowledge the fact he stays in tune the entire time, no matter which of the five parts he's performing
He's got perfect pitch
@@TimManuelMiranda that doesn't translate to being able to stay perfectly on pitch, still requires a lot of skill
@@Canzandridas Skill is a result of practice, brah.
you can see him playing the notes on the mic
@@matthew5330 Having perfect pitch doesn’t translate to being able to sing perfectly in tune? Huh?
Trying to sing the accompaniment and the melody? What a legend
Trying? He frickin pulled it off
Trying?
Trying?
TRYING?????
your forgetting the bass
That could be the cleanest BRUH I've ever heard.
He said Bright though
Yup, sliding allllllllll the way down to that low G like he could see all the obstacles in his way
@@F0nkyNinja brightest bruh
I don't even know if *_BRUH_* is phat enough
@@F0nkyNinja no
Somebody give this man a loop pedal and watch the masterpiece unfold in front of you
Then you get "Don't Worry Be Happy".
And the other Songs from "Simple Pleasures"
He is a loop pedal.
No!!! Don't give him that power... he'll be unstoppable!
He totally could use one. But that would be soooo much less cool than the one man band stuff he's worked out
The audience is his loop pedal.
To quote what someone more famous than I once said about this man, “he walked into an instrument store and ate them all”
Haha that's great. I grew up watching him & he was often called a one-man voicestra, but I think I like your quote more lol. Bobby McFerrin is incredible, I love his Circlesongs album in particular
@@ItsAsparageese I love this!

1:04 for all you who just want to hear the bruh
You tha real MVP
Not all heroes wear capes
Put it at 0.25 speed and you're going into another dimension.
Good timestamp, however for those just watching, the bruh hits hardest in context
@@rickvanderbreggen4433 the bruh in .25 made me laugh :D why???
It's funny how this was recommended to me while I was actually contemplating to make the group project myself since my group is not the best
Take it as a sign, do it and triumph by yourself
i always do that lol
There was one group project I had once upon a time w/ three other ppl.. fast forward it got to presentation day and once we were finished, the instructor pulled me to the side and pretty much told me she (it might’ve been a ‘he’ , but my 15 yr memory span waning a bit 😅) was gonna give me the better grade among us , mind you it was a GROUP, but it wasn’t hard for her to pick up on the effort I put in vs the lack thereof from everybody else, and she couldn’t have been any more right. I’m a year late, but hope it all worked out.
His ability not only to stay in tune but to articulate those bass notes immediately to falsetto and back down again is insane. Bobby McFerrin is a gift.
This man is unbelievable. I advice you guys to check out his song "Drive" live in Montreal. What he does there is just even more crazy than on this video.
A true legend.
The way he can change from high notes with head voice to low notes with breast notes that quickly and smoothly is beyond perfect.
holy crap youre right i just saw it and its significantly crazier
His entire Montreal Jazz festival gig was unreal TBH. Pure magic.
@@MrGreenAKAguci00 True that :)
Idk what a breast note is but I'd like to know more
@@mrbouncelol I apologize if the saying is wrong : English is a second language. But basically, I think I wanted to say chest (?) voice.
These Bobby McFerrin videos were some of the first I watched on TH-cam that wasn't cat videos or fails compilations. I was always flabbergasted by his unique ability to sing so many parts at the same time :D
I'll never stop saying: if you haven't watched a video uploaded 13 years ago called "Bobby McFerrin Demonstrates the Power of the Pentatonic Scale", you should do it now!
YES
Great video
You need to see Shane sings all 5 octaves
FOREVER LOVE THAT VIDEO! I show it to everyone because it’s so powerful!
thank you for showing me this video!
I don't know the technical term for it but the mic trick giving perfect fifths under a certain frequency is an amazing idea for such a form and it fills the harmonic space very efficiently. He is not only a brilliant singer but also a very clever performer.
Bobby McFerrin is such a legend
0:36 Got Professor Snape in the audience!?!?
Always.
Lily?
After all this time?
Obviously.
Too fat faced to be Alan Rickman
I grew up with this dude, so it's easy to forget that not many people know about Bobby McFerrin. Then videos like this pop up, and it's cool to know that more and more people in my generation are starting to hear of him. He's a damn inspiration.
1:12 tragic
😂
I had to study this guy in college. He is far more talented than people realise.
@Dino Sauro you're not the brightest
@Dino Sauro this is awkward
@@dinosauro9546 It was necessary for me to become a piano teacher. I’m making decent money now since it’s my own business.
yeah, it's just you. we plebs don't realise it
Saw him in concert 15 or 20 years ago. He invited some audience members onstage to be his "voicestra". My wife got to sing on that stage that night, a moment she never forgot. He's a wonderful artist and a beautiful soul.
Got to see him live couple of years back, unforgettable experience.
1:04 the bruh in question
Spot on
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'd love to see a transcription of that moment in his Montreal live show when he does a quick duet with three random people from the audience. That's one of my favorite moments in the whole show.
He is a musical genius. Notice how his finger placement on the mic matches his note changes? Amazing. We need more of this and less war and fighting.
greetings
@@philbigleys5031 Hey, Brother! Thank you very much for your service and sacrifice. When and where did you serve? Happy Veteran's Day weekend. Cheers.
He's talked about this before in interviews, they're actually clarinet fingerings! He's apparently a clarinet player when he was young and just got into the habit
This is absolutely amazing! I must say, I do appreciate the audience having enough musical people onboard to be able to hit that lovely chord at the very end near 2:08
Absolute legend.
say what you will about the one song he's unfortunately known for, but the man can sing and do crazy parts-mixing like this better than anyone
Why's it unfortunate?
@@puglife658 It's unfortunate that most people haven't witnessed his other talents, other than one instance of killer whistling
I only know him from Don't worry be happy. I only know this song from Jimmy Cliff

Can you imagine being at school and sitting in front of him?
1:03 the b r u h unfolds
its so in tune despite the large jumps brooo how
why did this get recommended to me out of the blue
It is a real pity that when the average person hears the name Bobby McFerrin, they'll say "yeah, the guy from Don't Worry Be Happy", which is like the most basic staff he's done and it is kind of an insult to him.
this video has been on my suggested page multiple times over the year, and ive clicked it every time. Great talent and the most melodic BRUH ive ever heard
"tragic" in the commentary XD Man I can't get enough of this guy
Now I've got to listen to that tune.
Tragic.
I'd recognize that octavizer timbre anywhere! Hear it a lot in live a cappella performance too. Bobby is a legend!!
the audience didn't need to be good but awake at all would have been nice
humans are just so amazing
*pity the audience*
He would demolish jonkler beat box
Audience should be ashamed of themselves lmaoo this man was spitting fire and they were like the least cooperative they could've been
he been doin this for years
They maybe pay for the ticket to the show but on a spiritual and emotional sharing experience level they don't deserve this man.
The use of subtle subharmonics, lowkey beatbox and master level of breath control should be appreciated to people who know the lyrics
Came for the bruh, stayed for the vibes
Thanks for the phat BRUH.
Hip-Hop producers rejoice!
i've seen bobby live. truly an amazing musician

I love how the audience was harmonizing at the end there.
I just love this man so much, thank you! Shine Your Light!
Didn’t know I needed this until now. Came for the BRUH, stayed for the “brrrrum skibidi skay bah”
Ngl yall wild af for paying to see this
Fun fact: Bobby McFerrin played a lot of different instruments before he decided on singing. He played piano, flute, clarinet, studied cello, and even wrote and arranged for big band jazz.
*I'd like to hear him do the National Anthem. Please.* 🙏🏾
There is another F A T Bruh at measure 42 exactly 1:20 into the video. He is so T A L E N T E D.

20 seconds after I clicked on this video the way he was singing it made me very joyful for some reason. Beautiful singer.

yes.
People who only know Bobby for "Don't Worry Be Happy" is like only knowing The Beatles for "Octopus' Garden." Bobby is a glorious human and such an inspiration.
not everyone likes the same music as you
The fact that the only song he’s known for is don’t worry be happy is an absolute tragedy
Incredibly sad
Bobby mcferrin, one of our generations great geniuses.
holy moly this is hard.
The audience doesn’t quite compete with a Jacob Collier audience
Lol watch any of the other dozens of videos of Bobby interacting with the audience.
In the Day of Song video he leads a whole damn arena by himself, it’s so rad
why is it a competition?
I’m a big fan of both, but jacobs audience is given notes to hold whereas this performance relies on non-English speakers knowing one particular song. Not really a good comparison
@@jessehartman2252 exactly, theres no reason to put the two against each other they both make amazing music
I felt that in my jugular.
This is is voice control on another level, so impressive.
Always loved that song. This will be my favorite version of it from now on. Thanks for sharing. One love ❤️
You know you're legendary when Jacob Collier copies some of your style.
If everyone was like thus guy all instrument players would go put of business.
bobby mcferrin is such an unbelievably good musician and he does not get nearly enough love

DO YALL KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO CONTINUOUSLY SWITCH OCTAVES. THIS GUY IS INSANE😭💜

Ok, who is this guy? I feel the deep and abiding urge to jump into this rabbit hole. This was stunning!
It's criminal that he is most know for "Don't worry, Be happy"
man i thought i recognised the voice i didn’t know this was the guy that sang that
Why is that?
@@soultaker840 I think I have to disagree, "Don't worry, Be happy" is so annoying and would be better scrubbe from the face of the earth, he is an amzing jazz vocalist who really pushed the artform but all everyone knows is the stupid novelty song
And not single one of them search the lyrics or even put it up the screen to sing along 😂
This is what I imagine I sound like when I try to sing all parts at once.
