I currently have 2 flowerhorn in a community tank. My tank has been established for a little over a year now. I have a Red Dragon and a King Kamfa. I've housed them successfully in my 6 foot tank with 2 oscars, 1 jack dempsey, 1 green terror and a black convict. Hiding spots are critical. But by far the most aggressive fish in the tank is the convict lol. Generally I don't deal with to much aggression tho. I rearrange the tank decor about once a week and so far it is working out for me.

Have a question my brother got me two flower horns for Christmas and was wonder what your opinion is I putting one of them in my 120 gallon with my other fish. I have 3 Oscars 13in, 9.5-10in, 5-6in, I also have a King Kong parrot, a green Texas, a pleco and a bichir.
I don’t want to sound crazy but I dropped a few pallets in my tank and I turned around and a minute later I heard splashing and it looks like my fish was having a seizure he started moving all over the tank upside down hitting his head on the tank and floating back down to the sand
My flower and always act crazy when I feed him and again I don’t wanna sound crazy but it’s like he trim crack lol he Started doing very strange things and after that he just sat in the corners or a long time .

I would do the heavy metal stands and keep the windows there was this stuff that natural light makes people happy and more at home and when there happy there spending money
I have some experience with this topic as a got a mediocre flower horn from my local pet smart and i can confirm personally that flowerhorns do better in smaller tanks because i bought him a 55g to replace my 38g bowfront for him and within 2 hours of adding him his colors looked very faded and he was less personable. I even tried adding lots of cover to the tank like clay pots like you recommended but that didnt help. I moved him back to the 38g and he was much happier i bought a texas and redtexas from petsmart ad put them in the 55g not only to fill the tank but also because i wanted to breed my flowerhorn and once i added him he was pretty passive but after a bout 2 months he had worn trailers and had stress colors on almost permanently and since i have added him back to the 38g permanently and he is much happier now. It is important note that i made sure my cichlids had been privately bred. Ialso think that you should go with the industrial racks because they have a much higher durability and overall give you more Milage. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!!! CONGRATS ON 15K!!!!!
I am getting my first male SRD flowerhorn next week. Will feeding it hikari blood red parrot be ok, and not cause it to loose fertility and still be able to breed?
I would go with the wood for now. As you can build as you want to fit your tanks and space in room. Then as you grow your store you can replace to metal shelving as time allows if you want. As for windows I would just cover up with a dark curtain. Good luck
If you are looking to finish fast I would just use the wood man and maybe just have a few of the industrial racks for bigger tanks. Either way congrats man keep up the good work!
On the store racks I have to agree the high quality system looks great and adapts better. But it is expensive. What about using scaffolding paint it black and use scaffolding boards. It's cheap and easy to set up and just as adaptable. And mutch stronger. Great video thanks man.😊
@@PalmerAquatics are you in Canada. ? What I do know is that in the USA they have a decommission date. I'm in the UK and here it's 4 years in the USA it's 4 year's also. Do blueprints! Use a notebook to do ideas on paper to envision your tanks. Draw it first. You need to envision your placement of rows, and heights of your tanks. Will it be Fresh and Saltwater tanks? Strictly fresh? Will you have a center piece tank to show off? Plan you Electric and plumbing on blueprint. What kind of filtration will you have? Do you have the funds/revenue to finish your project? How much space do you have to put tanks. Is the place square or rectangle?
For the windows .... cut a piece of smooth wood to size , round out the edges ... remove the window molding , and place your board in front of the window with screws just in case you have to remove for ventilation !

Try get a flowerhorn with no nuchal hump It would be cool to see one without the unnaturaly huge tumor looking head and I do understand the fish that have been breed to make the flowerhorn have nuchal humps but I haven’t been able to find any pictures online of one with out one it would be cool to see one without the hump I have got a Thai silk myself in a 700l

2x4 shelving cheaper . build to exact size needed so less wasted space.
