Summer Camp Opportunities at Wellington College (UK)

This week, during his visit to Wellington College Bangkok, Deputy Head of Wellington College, Mr Iain Henderson announced to our parents the exciting re-launch of the Wellington College Year 8 Summer Camps which have been paused these last couple of years due to travel restrictions.
The goal of the camps is that every Year 8 Wellington student in every Wellington School around the world visits the UK for 2 weeks to gain a small experience of what life is like being at The Wellington College (TWC) in the UK. During their stay, students are exposed to a whole range of exciting learning activities and opportunities including a bespoke timetable of lessons with Wellington College UK teachers covering a range of different subjects. These unique lessons are designed to inspire and open their minds. Arts and Sports will also be covered as well as extra-curricular activities and challenges which will support leadership and team building. There is also the opportunity to discover some rather unique aspects of Wellington culture such ‘Real Tennis’ the ancient forerunner to tennis as we know it today, as well as access to other world-class facilities.
Moreover, the camp is a transformative experience through the visiting students’ opportunity to stay in a Wellington Boarding House. During their stay, students will develop independence and trust alongside having shared experiences with friends.
Additionally, students will connect with Wellington history and heritage as well as seeing the iconic sights and sounds of London and the surrounding green environment of Crowthorne, Berkshire where Wellington is situated.
