Trains are great because they avoid traffic. Hopefully this gets some use

they won't because it is slower than driving due to how slow it is and how often it stops :D

      @@cmdrls212 Very car brained.
Driving is horribly ineffective at moving people. If absolutely 100% of people end up driving, traffic would become so horrible, you may as well walk to destinations. Not to mention the expense to upkeep road infrastructure.
Transit alleviates a lot of that. If anything, everyone should want better transit to assure everyone benefits from it, drivers included.

I am glad light rail is coming to Bellevue. With a city of such high-density, it is honestly surprising it took this much.
I do wonder what the changes to other routes will be--particularly the B line. That line itself is extremely popular and effective at moving people.

People will not jump out of their cars immediately. It will happen over time as owning a car in an area of persistently higher density makes owning a car much more of a liability than it already is.

or not at all. I can drive faster on the express lane from northgate to downtown and pay 30 bucks for parking. Parking at northgate is 25-35 dollars and the train takes 2x longer due to how slow it is and how often is stops. Not to mention I have to put up with transit crime :D The car will remain king as long as sound transit remains in charge. Billions of dollars wasted on the world's slowest train

@cmdrls212 Of course, parking at Northgate is comparably priced to parking downtown. The key is to not pay for parking and take transit.

Surprised the city allowed an at-grade crossing of Northup Way. Sound Transit spends billions, but never seems to have the budget for basic things like quality escalators. Do their consultants all suck? As in what is that sucking sound at the money trough?

It’s wild that this was built with at grade crossings… they system should have been built fully grade separated like a proper metro/subway.

I think America just has a problem but until it gets over itself, one can hope it will not have lost too much of an edge on the future.

Double checking all systems are running as expected and address all issues they found before officially open.
