    Thanks to your tutorial, I've checked the Affinity Designer online shortcuts, and discovered how to place one object inside another at lightning speed.... in a single key combination :) see more down...
    CTRL + ALT + G
    Paste inside an object,
    in hierarchical order
    CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + G
    Eject the object outwards

    • @DaniloFiocco
      @DaniloFiocco  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh wow! I'd cut the object, select the one I wanted it to be pasted into and used CTRL+ALT+V
      The shortcut you provided cuts a few steps. Way to go dude! I just have to get used to that now and start rendering a ninja speeds! Haha
      You learn something new every day. Thanks!

      Então, cara. Eu comecei a usar o Affinity pq eu vim do Fireworks e achei ele bem similar. Sem falar que o business model da Serif não é tão predatório. O lado ruim é que NINGUÉM usa. Então tá longe de ser o padrão da indústria.

      I've had that happen to me too. It can happen when you set your capture to be just for one specific app instead of entire desktop. Then the capture app thinks pop-up windows are separate apps.

    Hello Danilo,
    First of all, thank you for the tutorial and the time it took you to prepare it. I really like the way you work and I try to adopt your advice :)... but I have a question...
    I don't know why the effects, color, etc panels are not seen in the video, you only see the mouse arrow moving on the canvas. Is it a problem with the video capture?

    • @DaniloFiocco
      @DaniloFiocco  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh boy! Hadn't noticed that.
      Seems like OBS doesn't like floating panels very much then. Next time I'll just capture the whole screen, that should deal with that issue
      Thanks for letting me know o/

    • @jorgedibuja2993
      @jorgedibuja2993 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DaniloFiocco Anyway you explain the tutorial very well. By the way, I saw at one point in the video, that you were looking for a layer (the sketch layer), among so many layers in the panel. There is a shortcut to capture a specific layer... select it on the canvas, and then press CTRL + K and it will appear selected in the panel. It's a perfect way to save time, don't you think?

    Aww I missed the live. If you use procreate to draw the first sketch, why don’t you use AD on the iPad? Are those illustrations beyond the capacity of an iPad Pro?
    Never mind, I finished the video and see your point for not using AD on the iPad without a keyboard. I’m going to experiment myself with my iPad and keyboard and see how I feel. Thanks a lot for sharing your process, great stuff!

    • @DaniloFiocco
      @DaniloFiocco  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey dude!
      It’s just that it’s way more comfortable on the PC, having access to keyboard shortcuts, huge screen and all the panels open. Besides, I’m much more accurate with the mouse when dealing with vectors instead of the stylus. You may call me “old school” lol
      The iPad Pro can handle those illustrations just fine. I opened them up on the iPad the other day just to see if it wouldn’t blow up. It did not 😀

    • @cantisanifotografo
      @cantisanifotografo 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DaniloFiocco gotcha! It is just that I feel that a lot of the curves you draw for shadows and highlights could be done faster with a stylus and the pencil tool with some stabilization, that’s the thing I love about AD in the iPad, but you’re right about the general workflow, it could be easier on a desktop.

    hello there! my affinity designer is lagging a lot, when the illustration start be complex, is there something i can do about it?

    • @DaniloFiocco
      @DaniloFiocco  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dude. That happens to me A LOT
      Sometimes restarting the app solves it. But when it doesn't, I split my art into different files. Take the STRANDED one I did a while ago for example. I had a file for the background and another one for the characters and I'd just merge them when I was done. Sometimes I simply rasterize a large chunk of my illustration when I'm satisfied with what it looks like.
      On a bright note, it seems our woes are about to be over. Serif announced a huge performance boost for the next version to be released soon. The beta is available, but I haven't tested it yet
