Always two 👍👍 for this channel. Like I’ve said before, I wouldn’t buy a motorcycle unless it’s been reviewed here. Keep up the good work👏PS absolutely adorable having your boy along with you🤗
I've owned my 2003 R1150RT for almost 20 years. It's been a good riding bike for me but eventually I will replace it with a newer model, probably a 2019 or 2020, since I'm a fan of the older dash. I've been fortunate enough to own two motorcycles at a time, my RT and several different sport bikes. If I'm honest the bike I get on most often is the RT. BMW makes a great bike and your positive review has bolstered my inclination to buy another one. Great job and BTW your son is a lucky dude. My dad was not a fan of me riding motorcycles.
Thank you! Yea, my dad did not ride either and he forbid me to ride but when I left home there wasn't much he could say about it, I won't be that way with my son 😁👍
Why the 2019 or 20? I am shopping for an RT also. Wondering which used model year RT to get? Would you have final drive rebuilt if you bought a used one?
I just committed to buying a used 2019 1250RT yesterday with 1900 miles on it. I wanted that year instead of the newer ones because I am not a fan of the big screens replacing the speedometer and such. I have a 1996 bmw R1100R now with only 30,000 miles on it. Runs great but wanted a touring bike to do some longer trips on. Only question for me is do I keep them both.
Great job by Cam-era, always great to get kids involved in the hobby. Hey, their little hands reach some places better while cleaning the bike too ;-) I have the MS V4S and love my adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection, one of those things you'd never thought you need. The only thing I'd wish the adaptive cruise would show is the speed of the car in front of you, would allow for earlier decisions to start a pass or move into another lane.
Great episode I also own a 2021 a R1250RT Great bike. A little bit heavy but once you are riding it you don't notice it. Very good to see you had an assistant for this episode. Should bring him a long more often. I never miss an episode .
Great co-pilot and camera man! Love the video and have to agree with your review of the RT. Had the opportunity to ride a 2022 earlier this summer in the Alps. The most balanced bike I’ve ever ridden. I was sold on it after 10 days riding in all road conditions. After returning to the states and hopping on my 2012 RT, I’ll keep the 2012, but that 2022 was sure sweet. Thank you for a great review. Cheers from NW Florida.
I'm renting the R1250RT in May, and will be going on a trip through the US Southwest. Videos like this are ratcheting up my excitement level BIG-TIME!!! Great how you covered performance in so many different conditions. Very well done.
And that was a strategical mistake from NTP as now Cam became the one we want to see replace him😆. Awesome video as usual, big thanks to your kid for his collaboration.
Your analysis on the price of an Rt vs a GSA is Bang on. This review of riding behaviour is very convincing. I had a GS for 11 years and the finally traded for an Rt (which i totalled on a dear after 3 month ride). Returning to riding 6 years later I'm amazed how much progress the new GS Shows... but as you proved the RT is :"Ready To ride" roght out of the box. No need to add a bigger windshield, buy options oackage with element you dont want. IT is complete. READY TO RIDE Modifications Additons required=Zero. Thanks for the thorough reviews.
These are simply FANTASTIC bikes. I have a '17 RT and it has far surpassed my expectations in every way. Handling, brakes, aerodynamics, ergonomics, ride control...simply stellar engineering. I only use the quick shift on the highway in gears 4-6. Lower gears just too harsh for my comfort. Stay active on the clutch and do not switch into neutral at stop lights. If you need to move the bike...RIGHTNOW...then stay in gear. Just my .02. Great video and kudos to the videographer! Great team!
Fantastic owners review! Thank you! I've done years averaging 20,000 km on 2 wheels here in Canada, on cruisers (Victory), and more recently KTM 1290 SD GT, and been waffling on what's next. Been all over the map, and really like the BMWs, the R NineT (city), R1250GS (city, hwy, off road), and the R1250RT (hwy). Your review leaves nothing uncovered, and really makes the RT a compelling choice. Well done!
instant like of this video for having him as camera man in the team :-) nice review done by you, too btw :D thanks for that. Ride safe , and have a nice time 🙂Marius
Im returning to motorcycling after 17 years . Of all the reviews I’ve watched on this bike this is the most enjoyable and honest review even down to the cons which you are able to see the positive side As for Cameron what a wonderful little chap and you know what they say about youngsters they always tell the truth so all in all 22 mins of captivation .
Watching your review and seeing your passion for the RT reminds me of how fantastic my own ‘22 RT is. In fact, you have encouraged me to go for a ride today in this somewhat chilly weather (44f). Nice to meet you Cam! A great addition to your channel. Definitely not a hinderance. A well mannered young man.
Thank you! The RT is great in cold weather, the wind management is so good that even in cold weather it allows you to "enjoy the ride" and not shorten the ride due to being cold. Plus the heated grips and seat have 5 levels of serious heat, level 5 is just unbearable, way too hot for me, I usually ride with it set around level 3 or 2 for the grips and level 2-1 for the seat and the cylinder heads keep my feet /shins warm. I will enjoy a ride on this down to about 42f then anything below that, I will shorten the ride or just not go. But if it's sunny & clear I'll still go for a short ride, 2hrs or so 👍😁 take care, Scott
Great video. I own a 2022 us spec RT and I’m really enjoying it here in Germany. Mine came with Metzler tires. No complaints but i have considered changing them for the Michellin 6 ones. I can’t wait for your review or opinion about the Michellin 6. Thanks for your great videos
Indeed nice to make part of your experience with the RT - a bike which I won‘t take in consideration at this moment/ this period of my motor career. Obviously it‘s not only a reasonable bike but also one to get smiles with on your face, Scott! And that usually means that‘s a good one. I am still happy with your report over the F 900 and your ideas before I bought one. Go on with your outstanding channel and let Cam be a enthousiast Cam-era, man! Ride safe and have fun!
Thank you Marcel, yea the F900R is a great middleweight naked bike. If I was to buy a bike in that segment, it would be one of the bikes I'd be considering. take care, Scott
Thank you for the series on the RT. I have a 2007 K1200gt which whilst an inline 4, not the boxer twin, is very similar - power delivery is similar, turbine smooth and similar levels of comfort. I am considering upgrading to a 2020 + version of the R1250rt so I have been interested in your opinions. Really enjoy your content and style of presentation. Thanks again from Australia.
Thank u for this excellent informative vid. I am strongly considering the Sport model. Your vid got me a little closer to choosing the BMW over other makes I've been looking at. Keep up the great work!
Just shipped my 22 Goldwing DCT over here to Germany, can't wait to get it delivered from my HHGs. Next season is going to be a blast. I looked at this bike before I bought the GW and it was at the top of my list. The ONLY reason I went with the GW was for the DCT (US Traffic Jams terrible) and the wife and I do 2-up alot. If not for that I would have bought this bike. Great review and awesome bike; enjoy.
Always the most excellent reviews, two thumbs up on your reviews! I ordered a 2023 BMW R1250Rt about 45 days ago, and of course, waiting on it I questioned myself - did I buy the right bike? Trading in a 2012 R1200Rt and 2020 Triumph Bonneville T120 w/cruise control. Answered all my questions, the new BMW will be a great in town commuter, and I have always liked the highway touring capabilities of the R1200Rt, that adaptive cruise feature for lean angle is the first time I heard of that feature. Thanks for a great review, I like it when the host actually puts their own money into a bike after a lot of other test rides...tells me it is a great bike for sure!
Amazing how the technology (reducing speed on lean angle) reveals itself while the user did not know it happened! ???Where you in Dynamic mode or does it do it in all modes?
Actually, my understanding is that this is the IMU doing the lean angle measurement and not the cruise. Any mode will adjust the bikes power output while the cruise is set and the bike leans beyond a certain angle.
Good stuff thanks. The RT remains a dream tourer for me. Am gratified to see the Wunderlich accessories. I've just ordered my first-ever Wunderlich mods for my ol' '05 R1200ST, a non-adjustable footpeg kit. Am solving an unanticipated problem: The toes of my new Frey-Daytona touring boots (upgrade from regular BMW all-'round boots) are too large too fit easily, making shifting a hit-or-miss affair. If you've covered an issue like this previously, let me know. And congrats on your new production team ;-)
Great review Scott. I have a 2019 R1250RT and my appreciation of it just keeps growing. We use it mainly as our 2 up tourer and it is great. We have tried a Goldwing and K1600 but the RT seems to be more nimble and better balanced. I also have a R1250GS (on knobbly tyres) and I find myself jumping on the RT a lot more than the GS. Keep up the great reviews. P.S We were in Munich / Austria (Grossglockner) , Arabba - Dolomites and Stelvio in August. We hired a 2019 R1250RT out of Munich which once again proved to be a perfect choice for the roads and comfort two up. Loaded up it just ate the kms and wasn't shown up on the twisties. I even got to give it a couple of runs over 200km/h on the autobahn and it was rock solid. They are a great touring machine.
Thank you it's great hearing from actual owners of bikes! I've got about 7k on mine now and like you said my appreciation of it keeps growing over time, usually it's the other way around the longer I keep a bike the more I can "nitpick" it but this bike I'm finding it very, very hard to nitpick it or find any fault with it at all. take care, Scott
I had an 08 RT and it was a very good bike. I can only imagine the new RT is even better. I know it’s off-topic, but I still have a hard time with the ultra-modern design of the RT. I wish BMW would give us the option of an old-school style RT in the RNineT line-a slimmer, more classic-looking RT, like the R100RT, and with dials. If either BMW, or Triumph with their T120, could give us that old-style, smaller, basic touring bike, I’d get one. (I know they won’t haha.) Thank goodness for the F750GS Low and the T120 anyway. Cheers, and thanks for that close-up camera work, Cam.
I am a new owner of a R 1250 RT and thanks to your awesome great videos I learned a lot about the great bike . Thanks. 👍 By the way, could you tell me what kind of helmet you got and what kind of cloth you wear in your videos? Thanks.
Thank you. The helmet is Schubert C4 Pro and clothing varies from video to video, Jackets are usually Alpinestars, jeans are usually the Trilobite Parado or Agnox. Boots are usually the TCX F1 Style boot. take care, Scott
I've done 209kph on a 16 R1200RT with my son on the back, admittedly he’s bigger than yours, however the bike was fine and could have gone quicker. My reason for not going faster was father mode kicked in. Everything you say in this review is not only right for the 1250, but also the 1200. Thanks.
Nice review! This bike is my first love and I am seriously thinking about getting back together. The siren's song of the KTM Superduke GT is strong, but I think for what I am going to be using the bike for, this is the tool.
Hi Scott, long time viewer, first time commenter. Super review and thanks for the attention to wind protection and noise. My next ride will need to be better a dealing with those than the 790 Adv that I’m on now. Living out here in Las Vegas even a half day ride is long and the desert winds are pretty much always in play. Wish more reviewers spent more time on it the way you just did. 👍👍
I bought a RT last month. I agree with everything you say. Too heavy? No. Buyer’s remorse? None. Involved yet cosseting ride. Great weather protection. Heated grips and seat are great - especially now Autumn is here. I’m starting to understand the electronics more, which makes the bike even better e.g. mode set to “Road” but damping in “Dynamic” Safe riding!
I recently rented an RT after seeing Scott’s choice and absolutely loved it. My riding group however said “not sexy”. I think they’re wrong. Anyway two thumbs up as always for this fantastic moto channel. 👍🏼👍🏼
2 knit picks: side mirrors are hard to see vehicles next to you, so i stuck a convex round mirror in the corner of the stock mirror. Friction point of the clutch is almost at full out. Makes it hard to feather the clutch at low speeds. Super handlng sounds great great dash display, adaptive cruise with auto braking, central locking, among other great things
It was a tough choice for me between the GS and RT. I’m the end I chose a GS because of the quality of my local roads and the amount of unpaved roads I travel regularly. I do love the RT though - maybe someday!
Awesome review Scott! You are right on the money with the RT review. Amazing bike, I enjoy every mile on it! And it is fast if you want it to (Shhhhsh, just between us, it gets to 146 mph in a straight line)LOL
I noticed you didn't change gear, when using the adaptive cruise control, when the bike has automatically slowed you down, a substantial amount. I guess you do know that you can change the gears, up or down whilst in adaptive cruise control and it doesn't take it out of the cruise control, as would if you were using standard cruise control on other machine's. Whole point being is that, with the adaptive cruise control when it does slow itself and, quite substantially, you can help it with changing the gears without losing the cruise control and avoiding engine labour....for instance, if the cruise control had slowed you down from 70mph right down to 25/30 you can change gear, to suit, and the bike will stay in it's adaptive cruise control and return to how you were before any slow down, once the traffic situation allows. The system is really effective and very useful when used on long autobahn journeys.
This review is like a feelgoodmovie, Scott, congratulations again! The only remorse on this bike could be your bankaccount, but you are evidently more happy than you were with the XR! The little man grows like cabbage (Dutch expression) and offers you a good companionship now, that's nice! What a joy the low grunt of the boxerengine is! The best sound you can have on a motorcycle, it's so relaxing! Allthough I love my F850GS after one year and 10k kms., I only miss that sound of the RS I had before this. BTW: you didn't do the alps tour with your fast GS-friend this year? Should be a piece of cake on the RT!
LOL! Yea, we didn't do the Alps trip the last two years - corona, I was sick, Uli was sick (he got it real bad and didn't get back to normal for 3 months), border crossings opening and closing...etc. to many complications happening to organize a trip like that. Maybe next year, I hope...well we just left it open and are not planning anything...yet. Take care, Scott
@@NothingToProve Oh yeah, it was already that long ago?! Time flies when you're having fun! Bad for Uli it turned out to be longcovid. Hope to see you both riding over there next season.
Great video and very nice to see you take your son with you. I can't wait to take my 5 year old with me but I probably have to wait for 2 more years. I just sold my 2020 1250RT last week to downgrade to a NC750X for economical reasons. But I sure loved the BMW for what it is. Took it to the Alps this summer on my trailer (family trip) and had a blast with my wife around the Mont Blanc range across 3 countries...good times
Well, depending on your country, the laws are usually not age specific but do state that the passenger must be able to reach all controls, in this case that means foot pegs, grab bar or driver and sit on the seat. But I've also noticed that my son was fitting on smaller bikes sooner than the RT, so sit your kid on the bike and see and go from there. take care, Scott
Also. Maybe a vid on any experience with BMW maintenance issues on new bike, if any or just in general. I'd like to buy a used RT1200 or 1250, but sometime on the internet you hear / read some more recall issues etc.
Thanks for this and the K1600 reviews. I've been waffling between the two and you clarified many points. One question I didn't hear you address: is engine heat a problem? I'm baked alive on my Italian bikes in the summer and reluctant to go German if it's more of the same.
Love your vids!! I have a r1200gs now. Really, really considering this as my follow-up. Bit anxious about my length: 186cm, but with a 90cm inseam. I've heard the GS is better suited for long legs... End of this month I need to have my GS serviced, so I'll try to have a sit on an RT.
Thank you! There is a "high" seat option that is 25mm/1in higher than the standard. Usually when you sit on one at a dealership, the standard seat is in the low position - 805mm, so have them get the key and raise it to the high - 825mm. Standard seat: 805/825mm High seat: 830/850mm Here in Germany if you order the bike, there is no added cost to get the high seat instead of the standard. take care, Scott
I never use the quick shifter from 1st to 2nd and down from 2nd to 1st , BMW don't really recommend this, because of the big gap... so I only use the shifter for 2nd, 3rd,4th,5th and 6th and back down again to 2nd.... and definitely not using it in town (30mph UK).... same RT as yours... 👍👍
I got mine in December...so far, I'm at the 6,000 milestone...Been on some hi-performance canyon runs and she handles like a sport bike the cornering and braking is top level...the adjustable windshield is perfect as is and it will cruise on the interstates all day at 90-95 mph... the one thing I do notice is the vibration in the handlebars. I did a round trip to Lake Tahoe last Saturday in the twisties at 7,800 feet I went 308 miles on one tank of fuel.
Great thanks for giving us your experience on this machine. I can sit all day at 90-100mph on the Autobahn with this thing with very little effort on my part, love it. 👍
Love the acc on my car. Fantastic to have it on the bike. ACC is great car or bike. It’s not necessary but I love having it and use it all the time. Be careful if you have multiple vehicles though and the other cars have regular cruise control.
I´m spoiled since 16 months and 12000km back with my 2015 RT. I say that the QS on my bike aint smooth, very hard to use and sometimes brutal changes. Very pleased with Contiroadattack 3 GT, waiting for GT of the new 4 model. I think I will jump this new version and se whats next, it,s already twice the money for a new one. I do have a 2004 Ducati ST3 who im cheating with, that is another pleasure I don´t found on RT. Lovely sidekick you have :) Best, Kenneth
I had to get the kickstand enlarger for my 1200rt she tends to wanna sink in and topple over or so it seems that’s alot of kilograms to pick up yourself
Cam participation was a blast👌 This bike can be our only bike for sure. We can do everything with it. Ho, I forgot, it’s not proper to go off-road with. But is it forbidden? No, because it will do some soft dry off road trails too at least for some Kms, no problem at all!
Happy to hear you’ve got on well with your RT! Question for you if you happen to catch this comment, as a former owner of the F900XR, how would you say the quickshifter compares to your new RT? Would you say it feels clunkier? About the same? Smoother even?? I daydream about getting a GS one day as I love to take long moto camping tours, and the clunky quickshifter experience many riders seem to point out puts me off a bit. It’s all relative though right, but as I own and yes, DO go out on multi-day camping tours on my F900R (surprisingly capable of the task!), I wonder how your experience has been having come from essentially the same bike as mine.
Sir, thank you for all your vids - they are not only informative but also inspiring. I'm currently riding a 2018 Suzuki GSX-S750, it's been my first bigger bike (moving from a 125cc bike) but I'm currently dreaming of something for longer tours, so a shaft instead of chain would be ideal. I'm interested in either a Tiger 1200 GT pro/explorer or a 1250 GS but seeing this video... well now I wonder - since I don't plan on doing any offroading maybe an RT? However the weight of 180 kg just plain scares me. Maybe I need a lot more practice to ride it as easily as you make it seem on the parking lot, maybe I need to test drive it to believe the weight disappears magically when it rolls out or maybe both of those things. Either way, you've given me something to think about.
Well, without sided cases on the RT it weights 267kg and the GSA is 268. So put cases on both and they are still the same, with one exception, the RT weight is lower. Food for thought, I even did a video on this :) th-cam.com/video/jVBV8K8Lf4A/w-d-xo.html take care, Scott
Great video. I live in Tennessee, and it is very hot in the summer. Consequently, a little air flow is desirable in summer. Do you think the RT gives too much wind control and will be uncomfortable in 90 degree f. weather?
Well, I can only give my experience and yes 90 is hot and when I was on my RT in this kind of weather it was not unbearable, hot yes but unbearable no. I was only in riding jeans and a t-shirt but it was do-able. It's just like a fully faired Harley/Indian. This May/June I'm going to Sardinia Italy and the temps will exceed 90 no problem and I just plan on drinking a lot of water 😊
It's not the sport screen, it's the normal or standard one. The "sport" normally comes with a shorter one but I got the standard that comes on the other models. edit: the sport screen is 100mm shorter than the standard screen...just fyi 😁
As a previous owner of an RT, I came within hours of buying a new RT. But, at 70 years old, I couldn’t see keeping it without reverse assist. BMW has it on their behemoth 1600 and that monster of a cruiser - so why not on the RT? It’s not parking lot manners that concern me, it’s that slightly down hill parking spot I didn’t notice that made me reconsider. BMW is known for their “packages” so why not offer one with reverse assist?
A massive improvement in camera work - Good to see a pro in the form of Cameron! Two thumbs up Cam!
Great having your son helping you out Scott💪 it’s a great bike for everything. Thanks for your opinions.
Took delivery in late November on a loaded 2022 triple black RT. Thanks for the analysis. It helped quite a bit.
Always two 👍👍 for this channel. Like I’ve said before, I wouldn’t buy a motorcycle unless it’s been reviewed here. Keep up the good work👏PS absolutely adorable having your boy along with you🤗
Loved the review, the views are great, and your son is an absolute star of the show!
What a great kid, helping dad and having fun too :)
You both smashed it, and I absolutely loved it.
well done for including your son in this experience and journey, as a father i can relate, best times ever, plus your give great inputs and advice!

First time on the back of a BMW, I was 6 years old in Hagen West Germany. I'm now 65 and I ride everyday in cape coral FL.
awesome bike
love the colour

Thank you Marcel, yea the F900R is a great middleweight naked bike. If I was to buy a bike in that segment, it would be one of the bikes I'd be considering.
take care,
Scott
Great review, thank you Scott!... enjoy the RT and also says thx to Cam, cheers from Still Bay South Africa.
Nice review. You covered points better than others, and some that others didn't. Thanks.
Gord
The best Touringbike and a nice sighseeing tour through Paderborn. I also drive an RT. Kind regards from the HSK.
Great bike. Great assistant .👍👍
Thanks for the review on the rt 1250. Maintenance costs still scare me here in Canada for bmw 😮😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨💨🇨🇦👍🏻🥂
Congratulations on the purchase. Looks like a great bike. I use the clutch also in city rides.
An awesome review and thanks for sharing your family with us!
You're selling that thing. Seems like an awesome bike. Love the video and the channel.
Thank u for this excellent informative vid. I am strongly considering the Sport model. Your vid got me a little closer to choosing the BMW over other makes I've been looking at. Keep up the great work!
Awesome to see son & dad out together enjoying this beautiful RT.
Scott, great co-pilot. Keep up the good work.
I've got about 7k on mine now and like you said my appreciation of it keeps growing over time, usually it's the other way around the longer I keep a bike the more I can "nitpick" it but this bike I'm finding it very, very hard to nitpick it or find any fault with it at all.
take care,
Scott
Amazing. I got mine 6 months ago too. Excited to watch this review.
I am a new owner of a R 1250 RT and thanks to your awesome great videos I learned a lot about the great bike . Thanks. 👍
By the way, could you tell me what kind of helmet you got and what kind of cloth you wear in your videos? Thanks.
Thank you. The helmet is Schubert C4 Pro and clothing varies from video to video, Jackets are usually Alpinestars, jeans are usually the Trilobite Parado or Agnox. Boots are usually the TCX F1 Style boot.
take care,
Scott
just got my RT today!! what a Wonderfull machine 🤙🏻 like you sold my XR 900 for the RT and not looking back 😊
This was a wonderful review. Sold me on buying one of these, now I just need a second job to pay for it.
I’m starting to understand the electronics more, which makes the bike even better e.g. mode set to “Road” but damping in “Dynamic”
Safe riding!
Welcome Cameron, TH-cam has a new star.
Oh, so cool to see another dad taking his kids on the bike, love that! 🤩
I continue to love your reviews. Congrats on the purchase, and great to see your family with you.... Thats awesome :-)
I recently rented an RT after seeing Scott’s choice and absolutely loved it. My riding group however said “not sexy”. I think they’re wrong. Anyway two thumbs up as always for this fantastic moto channel. 👍🏼👍🏼
Yea, at 55 years of age now, I'm not very sexy, so I figure hey why not! 😁🤣
Great review! Great assistant camera man!
Yea, do that all the time. It just never called for it while filming. :)
Great video! I have a RT from 2021 and I love it! Fully agree with your statements. 👍🏻👍🏻
Regards from Switzerland 🇨🇭
What a beautiful city you live in 👌🏾 I always love the RT, and thank you for awesome review 👍🏽
It seems you have a helper. He did, indeed, a very good job. Great Motorcycle, and great video, as usual ✌
Great reveiw and video work done by passanger well done that man.
Take care,
Scott
But I've also noticed that my son was fitting on smaller bikes sooner than the RT, so sit your kid on the bike and see and go from there.
take care,
Scott
Love the vid. Such a nice bike but the maintenance is crazy in the states.
Also. Maybe a vid on any experience with BMW maintenance issues on new bike, if any or just in general. I'd like to buy a used RT1200 or 1250, but sometime on the internet you hear / read some more recall issues etc.
I own a 2021 goldwing tour DCT, but that BMW would be my next choice, right down to the bike color and tour pack luggage.
goldwing king of the road
Thanks for this and the K1600 reviews. I've been waffling between the two and you clarified many points. One question I didn't hear you address: is engine heat a problem? I'm baked alive on my Italian bikes in the summer and reluctant to go German if it's more of the same.
Great Bike and review Thanks Love the little one 🙂
Love your vids!!
I have a r1200gs now. Really, really considering this as my follow-up. Bit anxious about my length: 186cm, but with a 90cm inseam. I've heard the GS is better suited for long legs... End of this month I need to have my GS serviced, so I'll try to have a sit on an RT.
Thank you! There is a "high" seat option that is 25mm/1in higher than the standard. Usually when you sit on one at a dealership, the standard seat is in the low position - 805mm, so have them get the key and raise it to the high - 825mm.
Standard seat: 805/825mm
High seat: 830/850mm
Here in Germany if you order the bike, there is no added cost to get the high seat instead of the standard.
take care,
Scott
I never use the quick shifter from 1st to 2nd and down from 2nd to 1st , BMW don't really recommend this, because of the big gap... so I only use the shifter for 2nd, 3rd,4th,5th and 6th and back down again to 2nd.... and definitely not using it in town (30mph UK).... same RT as yours... 👍👍
Do the same with my S1000R - it will do it, but mechanical sympathy makes me take the path of least harm/clunk
Great video answered allot of questions compared to the GS
Great vid, loving the bike!
Best part of this great video was the Cam-era skills!👍🏻
LOL! I've seen a lot of funny comments but this is a good one! Made me 🤣🤣🤣
The cameraman is the best on TH-cam!
Love the acc on my car. Fantastic to have it on the bike. ACC is great car or bike. It’s not necessary but I love having it and use it all the time. Be careful if you have multiple vehicles though and the other cars have regular cruise control.
Great review; well done Cameron!!
Brilliant job Cam
I´m spoiled since 16 months and 12000km back with my 2015 RT. I say that the QS on my bike aint smooth, very hard to use and sometimes brutal changes. Very pleased with Contiroadattack 3 GT, waiting for GT of the new 4 model. I think I will jump this new version and se whats next, it,s already twice the money for a new one. I do have a 2004 Ducati ST3 who im cheating with, that is another pleasure I don´t found on RT.
Lovely sidekick you have :)
Best, Kenneth
Yea, the Duc is a great second bike to cheat with, the RT does not mind at all 🤣
Lovely father / son video. Ride carefully!! Precious cargo.
My 2019 Ducati Multi 1260 must go - Rt is my next bike (Wife demands it- wind noise) My two thumbs up for two great guys 👍👍
As always great video Sir! 😎👍🏼
Thx & 👍🏻👍🏻 for this wonderful @ professional family-BMW RT-review !
Makes me curious about driving this big One once with this unbearable easiness 😅✨
I had to get the kickstand enlarger for my 1200rt she tends to wanna sink in and topple over or so it seems that’s alot of kilograms to pick up yourself
Cam participation was a blast👌
This bike can be our only bike for sure.
Food for thought, I even did a video on this :)

@@NothingToProve danke Herr Scott! :)
Thank you so much. That helps.
best cameraman ❤
Two thumbs way way up for the assistant camera man :)
i was waiting for this review! great job! is it the small or the big windshield? can't wait.still saving up for mine🤞🏻
It's not the sport screen, it's the normal or standard one. The "sport" normally comes with a shorter one but I got the standard that comes on the other models.
edit: the sport screen is 100mm shorter than the standard screen...just fyi 😁
Thanks for making those videos and taking the time for answering! Love your channel 👍🏼
I couldn't agree more with you!
That's the reason why I always use the clutch lever up and down between first and second gear.
Great review Scott , Think your Son should take over the Channel though or is he your new Camera man , Great Kid
LOL, thanks, as soon as he is old enough to get a license, he'll be doing the reviews! But that's still 10 years away 😥
I’ve got an older 2016 R1200RT. Love it. No regrets. None.
great bike - i ride the fjr1300 which i love and did consider rt1250 which has better ergonomics/comfort
Love it, proper Dad
