I still have my '06 GX I bought new. It still runs like the day I bought it 15 years ago and every button and gadget still work flawlessly.

The only reasons for purchasing this vehicle as a 2021 model are the headlight and grille updates. That’s it. Not knocking the overall vehicle but do yourself a favor and purchase a low mileage pre owned 2016 to 2020. Save yourself a few coins and get the exact same vehicle.

The grill from the older model year can be swap for 2020 model grill exact fit, the new grill cost me 700 bucks.
The low mileage pre-owned cost the same as a new one.

I think this one is the sport package bc if it was luxury wouldn’t the folding mirrors and air suspension come with it

That’s the beauty of this car. It’s loaded with tech and mechanical designs that are tried and true. This car is the most reliable Lexus and was designed with that goal in mind. It’s utilitarian luxury. This car does what Land Rover used to do.

We just bought one 2 months ago and it is an amazing ride, great in the snow and so nice on a road trip, it may be dated but why fix what sells? this will be on the road in 20 years hold its value and still be a great SUV.

Just got mine two weeks ago and I love it. Atomic silver with the red interior. Gas is going to cost you. And yea the center console is outdated, but coming out of a 2016 es I’m used to it. Overall rugged with a touch of luxury that Lexus brings. Affordable compared to other brands.Love it!! Good review
What package did you get? Can I ask what you paid for it out the door? Planning on getting one soon. Getting away from Mercedes.

Yes, to the gas cost...but, in my opinion, it's a worthwhile price to pay for capability, dependability, and comfort.
I had a 2011 Lexus GX 460 premium. I bought it because 4Runner no longer offers a V8. Great car.

I like lexus but their interiors and infotainment is so outdated, you might as well buy a used one for far less and still have the same dated interior. They are getting better with some of their models but they need to completely do a redesign on their interiors before I ever buy one.

I got a brand new 2021 and I absolutely love it. One of the best cars I've ever had.
Yeah so which class is it? "Oldies but goldies" SUV class. Just get a 2014 version it's identical on the interior and 20k less.
I really LOVE the outside. I would get it in a heartbeat but the instrument panel is abominable. It takes away from the whole car and makes it look old.

Just refresh it enough to give me Apple Car play and a touch screen so I can use google maps and my phone over the manufactures provided crappy navigation.. they all pretty much suck.. on that note, when will car companies go commercial with the likes of google or other search engine... my 2011 Avalon has the same darn navigation just about.. c’mon.. take it up a notch so I can buy one.. I’m coming Lexus in 2022.. I get 10 years out of my cars and nothing gets t out there with less fuss and best reliability like a Toyota..

There won’t be a new infotainment for GX. It’s dated but reliable. 2021 will be the last year for GX. Buy it now while you can. That’s why I got my 2020. Sad...that they won’t be making this old beautiful beast anymore.

I see that this one has the captain's chairs in the 2nd row just wondering what package does that start at where it comes with it or do you have to do it separately when purchasin? In secondly love the video you did a great job on going through the entire vehicle from front to back inside and out.

He ran out of gas. Lol. That’s a GX in a nutshell. I could get 23 mpg highway when using cruise control at 65 mph but bad for city driving.

just tested drive this week in a local dealer, so let me down. Feel heavy behind the wheel, too slow no acceleration even with flooring the gas pedal. Noisy engine when u try to accelerate on highway. Plus it's a gas guzzler with small trunk space. smaller than Rav4. Could not understand why ppl spend 50k + for this outdated junk. Who plan to drive a car for 20 years nowadays. Few can drive to 10 years most likely
Traded my '09 Porsche 911 for a 2015 GX460 that I modified for overlanding/off-road adventure -- no regrets!
In one 2021 now it sucks my Highlander is 1000 times easier and smoother driver it's like a airplane without the engines bug thumbs down especially for its cost $70K

Come on step up the game. I own one and i have some things i hate about and biggest is its small inside if you own small kind like under 9. Lexus step up the game like escalade esv or new lincoln. You made gx but its small and not family frendly. Plenty of families that are willing to pay for long version like gX or maybe LX570.

Sup Ben 8 hours later. The interior is absolute shit, i'd rather get a Toyota Land Cruiser. The Land Cruiser has such a good looking interior compared to this "upscale version"

They're still sticking with the rear door opening to the side. Seems like most people I talk to dislike this about the g x.

I have a 2021 GX460, sport premium pkg. The Tires are 265/55 R19. Does anyone know if I can use a 255/55 R19 or 255/60 R19 instead? Its hard to find At tires in 265 for 19" rims
Both will fit. 255/55R19 is tiny bit smaller, 255/60R19 is like 0.6 inch bigger in diameter, that is 0.3 inch radius wise. I would go with the latter. It will increase mpg a bit as well.

You are not in a Luxury, your testing a Premium Plus with Captains Chairs and Sport. The GX starts at about 55k and goes up to over 70k for the Luxury model.
What is difference with luxury?
@@shaunruncie935 the Luxury has air suspension and adjustable ride controls. The premium (which what was reviewed) does not. There about an 8k difference in cost. Oh and the premium also has Mark Levinson sound and power folding third row seats. Now with that said you can get ML and power folds on a premium plus pkg (which this one was not).

Yeah, 2 extra cylinders doesn’t mean more power, mustang ecoboost has more power than 301 with its i-4t

The instrument panel? Terrible! Lexus screwed up by diving in to a bin of unused parts and decided to put it on a 2021 model year suv. I just can't believe lexus would sign of on this vehicle. Oh BTW just subbed. Bring more content..

That’s why the GX sales this year and last year have broken all sales records for the GX. reliability and full time 4wd is why people buy these. Everything else is secondary.

Congratulations! I own the 2015 NX 200t. 97,000 miles. Never a hint of trouble!

WOW has Lexus let itself go. That interior is a joke. Dated does not cover it. That is ridiculous.
We have a 2018 sequia platnium, prior was a limited 4 runner but i needed more leg room, in couple of years we will be looking for something a lil smaller but more lux, at first the srquia was a big improvement over the 4 runner, but after almost 3 years you realize they are old school, big, floaty, but damn near industructable, as of now toyota or lexus has nothing to interest us, looking at Audi or volvo, Audi q7 or q8, im reading they have problems, so we’ll see, we will not buythe big three junk.
You’ll be paying $$$$ for those Audi and Volvo repairs.
