Hi Sarah - I always enjoying watching your channel. Seeing all the things you have finished and your WIPs. You were mentioning your teaching. My daughter is an elementary school teacher as well. I asked her if, in CA, the schools still teach CA history in 4th grade covering missions, gold rush, etc. She said yes. Do you teach your state history in 4th grade as well? What types of things do you cover? Can't wait to see your next flosstube! Take Care.
I always love spending my stitchy mornings with you! Thank you for sharing all your stitches and for providing your kiddos with a library. My very favorite subject then and now is reading and library days. 🖤
Dear Sarah, what wonderful stitching and finishing. Your mattress strawberry pin cushion was great. My favourite of your FFOs was Grim’s Haunt - just fabulous. You have a real flair for choosing fabrics - the XJuDesign fabric for the Teresa Kogut Birds pattern was sooo good. Regarding the BlackBerry House I like the bottom section with the alphabet: I think the greater density and smaller size of the pattern provides a lovely counterpoint to the main section. The Moira Blackburn will make a wonderful heirloom piece. I think most stitchers wonder what will happen to their pieces after they are dead; my daughter is really not interested and that’s fine - why should she? I’ve decided that I stitch and quilt and sew because I love it and that’s enough. I too believe literacy is so important, unlocking so many doors and being such a source of fun and delight. I started a parent volunteering reading scheme at my daughter’s primary school (ages 4-11 in England) when she was younger and I loved it. Are your summer holidays finishing soon? Ours start 3rd week in July and they usually return in first week of Sept (Scotland has them earlier). I enjoyed your flosstube so much that I watched it twice - I very rarely do that - thank you so much, best, Steph
Hi Stephanie! Thank you for all the encouragement! I’m heading back to school next week, so I’m cherishing my last few days of stitching before it gets busy. Thanks for watching! ❤️
I am loving watching your channel. You have inspired me and directed me to other wonderful stitchers and I have started pushing myself to try different styles of patterns thanks to all the amazing things I am seeing in flosstube.
Hi Sarah! Your FlossTubes make me happy! Your FFO’s are beautiful and I enjoy hearing all about the details about your WIPS! You and Sarah are great together and it’s so nice seeing your Combined FlossTubes too! ❤🌻🤩🥰🧵
Hi Sarah. Loved all the stitching today especially those tiny pumpkins over one - so cute. I so admire your genuine love of this wonderful craft of ours. Touche'
Hi Sarah! You are not alone when you talk about thinking ahead to where your stitching will end up when you are longer here! I think about that all the time! We don’t have kids so where things will go once we are both gone is a great question. I just pray it doesn’t all end up in an antique shop somewhere or a thrift store. Thanks for another great video! ❤
Thanks for a great video. Your stitching is beautiful. And, thank you & our husband for all your hard work & dedication as teachers. It is a hard , & sometimes thankless job. I have one grandson who excels in reading. He devours anything he can get his hands on. He is currently re-reading the Harry Potter books. His brother struggles with reading (he is only 7), but thanks the the great district he is in & the hardworking teachers in the reading program he is slowly catching up. If we can read & write we need to remember to thank a teacher.
I think that it is SO sweet that your son appreciates your stitching! I am not sure that my boys do yet. 😃 I hope your school year gets off to a great start. I have been retired for 2 years, but it still seems strange not to be getting my classroom ready.
Hi Sarah. I forgot to tell you that I have had a library card since the age of 3 and I'm now 61. I have been reading almost my entire life and it is so important to learning. Thanks for all you do as a teacher.
Beautiful as always! Love that you are thinking “ahead” with your heirloom stitching! ;)). As a retired school librarian, I loved working with the classroom teachers and students for all their reading interests. So necessary for a complete education.
Hi Sarah! I always enjoy watching your videos. Your projects are amazing and your finishes are absolutely beautiful. I don’t think you were morbid talking about where you stitched pieces will end up. I think we all think about that. I know that my boys (all 6 of them) will take my stitched pieces. They even took some of my mother-in-laws cross stitch pieces and have them hanging in the homes. I wish there were more teachers like you that are dedicated to not just the students in there class but all the students. You are a beautiful person inside and out. I hope to get to meet you someday and have you for a stitchy friend. Your mom’s and sister’s project bags are beautiful. Looking forward to your next FlossTube ❤❤
Thank you for all of your kindness! Your comment made me smile and warmed my heart! Isn’t it wonderful that our children respect our stitching and want to keep them after we’ve passed? ❤️
Michelle's project bags are amazing!! Let Love Reign is such a classic. Your Mom's Painted Leaf Co. bird bag is simply stunning. It will brighten anyone's day. Pepper Pot Shoppe Pumpkin Spice is so adorable.
Another great floss tube! I’m a teacher too so I share your feeling about summer going so fast. I love that you and Allison get together and stitch! I only wish I lived closer so I could join you!
I just came across you. Lovely video. I am a teacher as well. It was so inspiring and fun. However, you are costing me $$. Lol I, too, find it hard during the school year but really work hard at trying.i just love the organization. The project bags!!! Just wonderful. Thanks for all you do for the kids! A library is so important.
I’m working on Dasher & Dancer ( my most ambitious stitch to date, in terms of size) and have already decided that it will be my heirloom stitch. Once I finish it, I’ll be telling my nieces all about it, and request that they share it (it can rotate homes every Christmas) when I’m no longer around. Love your projects and your channel!
Not morbid at all. I’m 71 and thinking about my legacy more and more. Even my 11 year old grandson understands that importance. He’s thinking about what he’d like to have to remember me by. I love that. My 3 girls are even putting their names on things they appreciate. I love knowing that they will receive the things most meaningful to them. Another great video. I love your content…always!!!
You are a very special teacher. We need more like you up here in British Columbia. Amazing stitcher and finishing. Mom and Sister amazing too. Love watching you. We don’t go back to school till September. Have a great long weekend coming up.🥰
Your stitching is beautiful. Love your finishes!! I am thrilled I was able to get that beautiful bird bag from your mom! Since I started watching you, I’ve been trying to purchase from your mom and sister and I was finally successful. I’m so happy you were able to get so many donations for your classroom library! I love when mine has new books to encourage the kids to get hooked on reading. I hope you have a wonderful school year! ❤❤❤
Great video as always! Love all your stitching! Absolutely beautiful everyone! I use to be a school secretary so I know how you are probably counting the days… Have a great day!
Glad to see you again!!! I am happy your had a great vacation. Pictures were great that you posted on IG. You are right, the summer break has gone by fast. Back to school and books for your classroom library😘 I love sending you books again. It brings me joy. Now, Time to get ready for Sampler September and Autumn/Halloween stitching projects! I love your stitching and finishing. I want to --- I need to just do it!!! Need to watch some videos!!! Take care and enjoy the rest of the week.
It feels like we were just at Stitch Con and summer was beginning, now now it is almost August and it is ending. Have a great school year. Thanks for sharing your beautiful stitching. Janine
You have the most beautiful stitching. And whoever you teach is lucky…my 3rd grade teacher was who instilled my love of reading. I got an English degree because of her and my 10th grade Humanities teacher. I read like crazy…93 books so far this year….i hope you know what a difference you may in kids’ lives. Reading is one of my greatest pleasures. I loved your beginning hearing about your library ❤
Glad you enjoyed your vacation in my neck of the woods (Idaho). Yellowstone is a day trip for us & we have camped in the Tetons. I don’t think I’d ever attempt a Sampler, but I really enjoy looking at your beautiful pieces. I’m glad you show us the project bags too. ❤
Love your videos! Our tastes are similar. I think I would put the alphabet on the bottom of Blueberry House Sampler (?). I love those two little redbirds in the bottom corner. Wishing you a fantastic school year. Happy stitching!!❤
Beautiful progress on your pieces. Nothing morbid about recollection of one's own mortality. Truely people should dwell on this subject at least once throughout the day, because we never know when our time is up and should be living consciously each day with what we do, with the people we interact with and what we will leave behind if we were not here tomorrow. Morbid? Nonsense! It's morbid to think fearfully of the subject or to be quick to dismiss it... that to me is morbid... to not discuss about death is to not embrace life meaningfully. ❤
Sarah,it was so enjoyable watching your video and getting some stitching done myself. You are such a great stitcher and I loved seeing all your gorgeous projects.
LOVE watching your videos. I would probably leave the bottom off the blackberry house piece. I now think about what my son and daughter will like when I'm gone. I am not buying anymore samplers as I don't think its their thing. I did buy glendon place love you still and Karen Kluba always remember to do for my daughter as the verses are meaningful and lovely. Other than that I think they will love the smalls are something they will like. 🇦🇺🦘🐨
Love seeing your finishes -- the three were stunning! And I love seeing what you're working on, you are always inspiring -- although I do covet your eyesight and ability to stitch on 40 count fabric -- but I'm getting over it! I am accepting my vision, which is supposed to be 20/20, I've had cataract surgery, ya know, maybe I should just try it and stop being such a weenie!! On the other hand.... yeah, I should either try it or stop being so covetous! LOL!! It's not that often I want a smaller sized project anyway.... OK< 'nuff said.... Have a lovely whatever is left of your summer!
I can understand the vision issues. I recently had to get glasses for the first time because I was having a hard time seeing. I’m realizing some things just aren’t fun to stitch on, like dark fabric, because I am struggling to see it.
Thanks for your video! As someone who has had to go through projects and memories of my grandma and mom in the past few years, it is surprising what is meaningful and heirloom to different members of the family. By all means, if someone asks for something, earmark it for them. Otherwise I would recommend just letting people decide for themselves what is meaningful to them. What is meaningful to us doesn’t necessarily translate. Putting emotional weight on items can leave people with unintended feelings and struggles-ie “I can’t get rid of this because Mom wanted me to keep it but I don’t really like it or have a place for it.”
Another great video! I love all of your stitching! I always run right to your mom’s Etsy shop and it’s always empty when I get there! Good for her but not good for me lol I then got the pumpkin spice from your sister’s!
I love your video and I definitely think about who will get what stitch when I’m gone. I’m also making each of my children a special stitch for Christmas ☺️.
Hi Sarah. Enjoyed your video. Your finishes are beautiful. I wish I had the motivation to finish some things. I love stitching better. 😂😂😂. Enjoy your week and we’ll see you later. …Debbie
I definitely think about who will get certain pieces when I pass. I also threaten them on a regular basis that I will haunt them if my stitches end up in goodwill.
Great video as usual. You look so pretty! Love your hair and lip colors! On the Folk series, how do you back the stitchery? With a sticky type board? What size? It looks like it’s a long piece. Thank u!
Thanks Carmen! To finish the folk series, I cover a mat board with a coordinating fabric to go behind the stitching. I cut the backing board to 13 x 4 1/2 inches. I mount the stitching to a 12 x 3 2/2 inch mat board with a layer of batting. Hope that’s helpful!
I’m sorry you get negative comments - I love your channel and all your stitching. I feel for you, as one teacher to another, as stitch time goes down here at the end of August :(
In another video you showed pieces mounted on a "paddle board". They are interchangeable and you used magnets. Could you please tell me how you attached the magnets? I have some pieces I'd like to finish like that. I love your work and project bags, so pretty.
Im leaning toward without the alphabet, mostly because of the separating line. Great. Stitching as always. Not weird at all to ensure your stitches live beyond you. I have no children and wonder what thrift shop mine may end up in.
Hi Sarah Pumpkin Spice Latte sounds really good right now. I love Fall Time. Love your Finishes - Your WIPS - Beautiful Stitching. I made a Floss Tube Video and it’s on my Channel - Linda Klinedinst Take Care & Happy Stitching ❤️🤗🙏☕️🧵🪡🧵❤

Hi Janiece! Yes, we teach Ohio history here, such as the early Native American inhabitants and our role in the Underground Railroad.
I have been a school librarian for 23 years. Thanks for instilling a love of reading in to your students both past and present.
I love school librarians! Thank you for what you do for our kids!
I enjoy the variety of projects and wow! So much progress! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! ❤️
I always love spending my stitchy mornings with you! Thank you for sharing all your stitches and for providing your kiddos with a library. My very favorite subject then and now is reading and library days. 🖤
I love spending my stitchy time with you too! I’m so glad you decided to start a Flosstube! ❤️
I love books and my husband loves trees so I'm the one that sent you a tree book. Happy to do it.
Thank you so much Pam! That was very kind of you. 😊 I love that you chose a book that has meaning for you and your husband! ❤️

Love hearing about your travels, thanks for sharing. And wow stitchers are so generous to your class, so great to hear xox
Yes, they are! ❤️

Maybe you have a friend or family member who will cherish your stitching when you’re gone. Just as long as it doesn’t get thrown away, right? 😂

Oh my. You visited my love. My parents lived just 11 miles north of Jackson. My 4 children grew up hiking those beautiful mountains. Awesome place
It’s really an amazing place! ❤️
I think that it is SO sweet that your son appreciates your stitching! I am not sure that my boys do yet. 😃 I hope your school year gets off to a great start. I have been retired for 2 years, but it still seems strange not to be getting my classroom ready.
I’m sure it’s weird to not be going back to school. Hope you’re getting lots of stitchy time in your retirement! ❤️
“I’m probably going to need one “. ❤
Hi Sarah. I forgot to tell you that I have had a library card since the age of 3 and I'm now 61. I have been reading almost my entire life and it is so important to learning. Thanks for all you do as a teacher.
I got my library card when I was 5 and I was so excited! 😊
Beautiful as always! Love that you are thinking “ahead” with your heirloom stitching! ;)). As a retired school librarian, I loved working with the classroom teachers and students for all their reading interests. So necessary for a complete education.

I love stitching with you, my friend! 🥰
Love your videos! Our tastes are similar. I think I would put the alphabet on the bottom of Blueberry House Sampler (?). I love those two little redbirds in the bottom corner. Wishing you a fantastic school year. Happy stitching!!❤

Thank you! Enjoy the last days of summer and I hope your school year is the best yet! ❤️
In another video you showed pieces mounted on a "paddle board". They are interchangeable and you used magnets. Could you please tell me how you attached the magnets? I have some pieces I'd like to finish like that. I love your work and project bags, so pretty.
I use E600 to attach the magnets.
So cute that strawberry pinkeep
Thanks Laura! 🍓
Hey friend! 💟☮️
Hey there! 👋
Just ordered a bag from your Sis. It’s a little dachshund bag. 💕
I have that one! It’s so cute! ❤️

Which Roxy FlossCo white did you use on Eliza Poole?. I’m trying to find a good one for a mono color piece. Thanks!
I’m actually using Gentle Art Shaker White. I didn’t have a Roxy Floss in the right color.
Sarah, what do you use to cut your foam board?
I use an Xacto knife.
Im leaning toward without the alphabet, mostly because of the separating line. Great. Stitching as always. Not weird at all to ensure your stitches live beyond you. I have no children and wonder what thrift shop mine may end up in.
Hopefully they end up in a thrift shop where stitchers like us shop, and they’ll be super excited to find your stitching and give it a new home!
