"Inherent Vice" star Katherine Waterston

Katherine Waterston is winning accolades for her role opposite Joaquin Phoenix in "Inherent Vice". The film is a post-modern noir set in 1970s Los Angeles, and based on the novel by Thomas Pynchon. Waterston speaks to Wab Kinew about the experience working with Joaquin Phoenix, as well as director Paul Thomas Anderson -- known for past acclaimed films such as "There Will Be Blood" and "Boogie Nights".

I saw an interview where Joaquin Phoenix said he was watching the auditions on Paul's computer and Katherine, "jumped out as Shasta" He goes on to say that he was somewhat intimated working with her during their scenes. High praise coming from a great actor for a knock out performance by Katherine Waterston. Paul Thomas Anderson has had many incredible performances from great actors throughout his career in films, Katherine's Shasta is one of the highlights of that rarified group...brilliant!
