I lived in Port Hedland..., we use to take the Japanese tourists into South Hedland and had to pass the salt mines and tell them it was "Port Hedland Snow" (it was an average of 40C+ in summer) special "Snow" designed not to melt in the heat so we could send it to the "Australian snow fields"..., most believed us. ha ha ha
Probably just remove the contaminated salt, salt needs to be refined to become food grade and they probly use bio hydraulic fluid and regular maintanace on the machines.
You both must be a bit slow in the head grease and oil can be removed from salt and sugar but!!!! Salt can't be removed from sugar and sugar can't be removed from salt now if you 🤷 can workout how it's done you will have learnt something this week
I guess salt is very expensive because over the years I have noticed snack foods mainly chips lacking salt. Especially Pringles they are very bland. Used to have SALT

I lived in port hedland and about 4yrs from 2009 to 2012
I can see they load the salt in ships to then dump at sea to keep the ocean salinity up. Very clever.
You 🤡🤡 they do not dump the salt in the sea to keep up the salinity its refund for human use.
Would hate to be the repair guy.The repair bills on this equipment would be massive.RUST NEVER SLEEPS.
Neither does CORROSION.
About a 6klm round trip and they cart it for stuff all! Gear is stuffed and off to the scrap dealer in about 5yrs!
