Walt!! Yet another very fun video to watch! How exciting, that first QRP contact. 👍📻⚡️ Coincidentally, I think I’m currently very close to where you made this video. I’m at the Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort in Kapaa. 🌴 Also, I just received a (tr)uSDX rig, so I’m excited to try QRP and have a radio that packs easily on the road. Cheers buddy and thanks for the inspiration! Tom - WA7FLY

Hi, well done on the ZL contact!! It's amazing what you can do with low power and you have the help of salt water all around you. I have visited Hawaii three times for holidays since 2015, its fantastic, especially visiting Pearl Harbour! QRP can be a lot of fun but also frustrating when you can't get through. It would be good to get through to Hawaii from my location, but maybe not too many hams over there. Thanks for showing your opps and enjoy the hobby. 73 Alex M0KVA

That was awesome. I’m just getting started. I have yet to make a QSO. I’ve a dipole do 10 meters, cause I live in Ohio, and I hear conversations, but they don’t hear me. I think I chose the incorrect coaxial cable, RG 58, and the loss may be really restricting my broadcast.
I’ve watched a lot of your other content and want now watch all your videos to get a feel for your progression. Thanks Walt

Great! A couple of weeks ago I heard contacts with Hawaii, although I did not listen to the station on the island, I did hear the stations in Chile calling them, in 10 meters band , 73 from Costa Rica de TI3IES

Thanks for the video. I also bought one of those QRP Guys EFHW transformers (not knowing it was a counterfeit) however it works. I have some other real QRP Guys stuff.
The definition of QRP I go by is 10 watts or less voice or 5 or less for CW or data. 73 de N2YTA

On the beach in Waikiki, with my xiegu x5105 and a toybox antenna (hfj350?) Wire tied to a bush like 3 feet off the ground; I got to the mainland united states. I even dropped power but i forget how low I went, but it was less than 5 watts with solid copies. Highlight of my vacation.
