That's an incredible find and a great price! Reminds me of one of my own finds. I found a first edition of HG Wells' The Time Machine. Comps were selling for 30K. I paid two bucks at Goodwill Outlet. Just one of the many great finds you get in this business!
And I'm with you, Adam, that's 100% museum worthy. Perhaps it could be a good write-off if you are having a great year and need it for the tax implication? A write-off of potentially 30K might be worth more than a sale of 12K. Just my thoughts, not tax advice. :)
hi Adam, i collect old deeds and indentures and, if you can be bothered to read them, are quite fascinating. my house and land dates from pre -doomsday and after sifting through some old deeds that my dad had bought in the 80's....... i found a 17th century deed relating to my house! and all this time it had been in my collection!
another great video im rewatching as well as many other videos you have! I must say Adam you need merch lol "So I Brought it to the and put it in the glass case... and...(pause of a lingered breath)..... nobody asked me about it." you spoke for so many great dealers and amazing works when you said this!
A great find Adam, last year I purchased an 1810 English land deed from our friend Phil the Book Peddler. Your right the feel of the parchment and the language of the document are fascinating.
Hi Adam, It truly is a great find. I think 12k is very reasonable to the right person. Please post more videos. It’s been a while (or I haven’t been notified) since your last posting.
Thanks Rich. I barely have time to sit down 1x a month with all the other social media and one man show routine . But I will try and and get more up and appreciate the comment!
I have the pronouncing edition of the complete concordance Bible, created by the united states centennial commission. It's inlaid in gold throughout the entire book. All of the drawings in it are inlaid in gold too. It's truly a beautiful work of art. It's from the 1870s. And I'm trying to find a buyer. Current value is around $700-1000. Each picture from within the book can easily be sold for $200 each, because of the gold inlays and because of the artist work is just amazing, however to destroy that book like that for money is just dumb, so I'm trying to sell it to a collector who will care for it properly What is your email address so I can email you photos? Maybe if you're not interested in this Bible, maybe you'll know someone who would like it? Cause it's truly a unique and cool book!
Your Not Just A Rare Book Dealer But A Social Worker For Us Mere Mortals 🤣🤣🤣🤣 ( What A Fabulous Document Personally I'd Frame It And Have Displayed Next To A Pair Of Hitlers Underpants )
I always get excited when I see that you've posted a new video. Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece of history with us 🙂
Thank you so much for the kind words
Former library employee here, I love these videos, and they let me live vicariously through others because they are way out of my price range.
Thanks. I also live vicariously through others so we have a lot in common beyond love of books :)

As a history nerd, I can appreciate the price that deed could demand. It's wonderful, definitely museum worthy. Great find.
Thanks appreciate the feedback! It’s not an unwrapped Mario Bros video games, but no doubt worth something

Thank you Warren. Appreciate it
Fascinating. (Best Leonard Nimoy Spock 🖖 voice)
I love deeds. I have one belonging to a cousin of the Brontës' mother from their family property in Penzance!

Excellent post💚💚👍👍
Very nice find, has it found a new home?
Really cool! Hurrah for retained copies- who knew. Or at least I didn't. Very clever to just type the text into a search. A trick for future research🙂
