Not to make it racial but to illustrate cultural differences: many middle class+ white folks think bass is a sportfish, simply because of competitions; they are definitely a gamefish. Go into most seafood restaurants in "the hood" and you'll find black bass on the menu. I keep them for my neighbors wife. I prefer crappie, cats, and various sunfish. Nothing is sweeter tasting than rockbass to me, baby bullheads are close.In college we ate everything we caught😂.

Bass are great to eat, I have a 5acre lake to fish. The bass is keep are over 10" , under 14". My goal is to grow 10lbers. I call it lake maintenance. If it's not done the population will all be the same size.
I use a lot of Kosher salt. Smoked catfish brine, smoked trout/salmon brine, fried turkey brine, all pasta boil water and any cooking in general. Good stuff. I don't eat peanut products anymore (lectins), but I do eat raw almonds and walnuts almost every day. As I get older I find myself being more conscious about what I consume. You're not alone. Fried fish is tasty and not the healthiest way to eat it. Love the Asian inspired fish dishes. If I get a keeper walleye or bass tomorrow, I'm gonna try this recipe. I drink a lot of La Croix Mark. Coconut, though not my favorite, is one a buy on occasion. My favorite is Grapefruit followed by Black Razzberry.
I've got quite a few friends and good acquaintances that get mad at me for keeping bass, especially bigger ones. First, they are one of my favorites to eat, I val them freshwater cod as far as eating goes. I catch bigger bass and catch them much more often than these guys and I try telling them that all these big bass are usually just accidental while fishing for other species. Then I tell them that they are the easiest fish to catch and will hit anything. I tell them that they kill way more bass than I do even though they are catch and release anglers. Easiest bank cook recipe, wrap fish, bitter and lemon pepper in foil and throw it on the fire.

One thing to remember is sometimes these 2 things are together in the same dish and to me looks like your dish has both that are amazing and Healthy. I love using trick worms for catching bass. Especially on hard days. Seems to always get me a fish, no matter what. The green ones with red flake work best where I’m at. Live bluegill also work super well too if I have the time to microfish for some smaller ones.
Bass are good if I skin them before fryin' 'em up. I can think of a bunch of fish a heckuva lot tastier. For my money, a big ol' heapin' plate of steamin; hot fried bluegill and hushpuppies is my done-gone-to-heaven feast. Man oh man!

Watermelon Red is the best here, followed by Green Pumpkin with flake. My all time favorite is Watermelon Cotton Candy flake.
