    As a middle distance guy it’s so funny to se sprinters warm up/do prerace stuff. Middle distance runners just jog a few kms, do some drills and then some strides but youre doing like a whole danceparty before your race🤣

    Congratulations with your 200m. I think you could’ve ran faster, I felt like you were running on the outside of your lane in the second bend. Maybe it’s a visual thing but I think you could’ve ran closer to the inside of your lane

  • @speedendurance
    @speedendurance 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Good job, though I think you ran a lot on Day 1 to expect sub 21 on Day 2. The CNS can handle only so much stimulus. Still a very good performance, as you said, all things considered with Covid.
    What is the surface of the 60m straightaways? Looks like a 5 or 6mm spikes is the maximum allowable limit?

    • @hovejoha
      @hovejoha  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you! The surface is a multi-sport surface which is pretty normal i Norway. Maximum is about 5/6mm, and also pointy spikes are prohibited as they rip up the surface, have to be flat ended. It was a lot to ask for hehe.

    the stretching that ur doing here! could maybe insolve my problems with my legs and the pain I have. I do workouts, like David Goggins but more like Calesthenics and running on machines etc. but my legs hurt like hell the next day or next coming days. these stretching here are incredible! Why the "COLD" shower before leaving for an event? How does that help/benefit? :-)

    • @hovejoha
      @hovejoha  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Feels good after, wakes me up more than a couple of coffees. Cold showers lead to increases in dopamine that can last many hours. It might also help to increase capacity for prolonged exercise at higher intensity levels.

    I had to do similar thing to you with the lanes. Got the fastest time in the 200m heats and was put in lane 1😑 Felt really bad complaining about it because the guy who originally got lane 6 was put in lane 1 and he wasn't too pleased. Guess its only fair though.

  • @Leonidas-eu9bb

    maybe you and Meinseth should do more training together. Some rivalry can be a big motivation/performance booster.
    It's strange that so many top level athletes avoid training together. Is it because of psychological pressure. At least the benefits from it can be very real if both athletes beliefe it's good for them.
    I remember who Bolt was pushed from Blake in 2012.

    Do you know that closing your palms significantly decrease your speed? Because your body will naturally tense up & this really really not good for running.
